IMEI # problem - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 General

I am trying to join a Club iMate (clubimate.com) which requires submitting my device's IMEI #. I got the number from under the battery and also by dialing *#06#, but the site says these are invalid IMEI #'s. Any idea what could be the problem? The number retrieved by dialing has an additional "01" at the end of the same number that's under the battery, but neither number works at the site. My device is branded as Qtek 2020, not "iMate" - could that be the problem? (the "iMate" branded devices have a specific range of IMEI #'s or something?)

Yes,
You can only register if you have an Imate phone.
With a Qtek 2020 you can NOT register.

Can it be an 'iMate' from ANYwhere? Or must it be a Telcra (sp?) model iMate?

it prob have to be an imate
and flashing your qtek2020 with the imate rom dont make it
and imate

Telstra or not?
This still doesn't answer my question. Yes, it has to be an iMate, but can it be ANY iMate, or only a Telstra iMate, according to the following note I read about downloading a certain ROM update from club-iMate:
<< This update is downloadable from the Carrier Devices-run Club i-mate, but seems to be visible only to those registered with the IMEI of a Telstra-sold unit. >>

I have the same problem, I purchased mine in Australia (XDA II) and am trying to register at myxda.com and it is saying invalid number.... I'm confused as well... I'm going to give support a call tomorrow some time about it.. I have registered a previous XDA II as well but I can't see this being a problem..

Let me know if you have any success. I also tried at myxda w/o any luck.

I have had sucess, it looks like they have updated there IMEI database... and if you try and register now it should work 100%
Give it another go people

Strange upgrade...

Guys, I have O2 XDA2 with ROM 1.66.00WWE, ext ROM 1.66.165, and bootloader 1.06,
I want to upgrade my XDA2, so I downloaded an i-mate ROM version 1.72.126,
and using ER2003edit I changed the carrier from CDL to O2,and leave all parameter as it is...
but when I run himaupdate.exe, it said country id error,ce checksum error, etc,etc...
then I change the carrier gain to CDL, still no luck...
last, I repeat again the first step above, but I didn't use ER2003edit, so the ROM is original (still in CDL carrier, right), voila, it passed the error message, but I'm affraid to click upgrade button since mine is O2 XDA2 not imate...
is it ok to upgrade?isn't it strange that my O2XDA2 choose CDL carrier for upgrade?
please help...
bump?!
UPGRADE ????
darkcell, my friend.
your conclusion is ; this is failure hardware.... not only rom, so, that's a big problem !!!
how opinions from o2 club, jakarta (ivan or niki).
thank's
afaik eredit2003 is only capable of changing operator id's (=country id) for the Extended ROM.
Please see the upgrade instructions on this site on how to make the iMate rom work with your O2 XDAII

Probably silly question...

installing an iMate ROM in my T Mobile MDA Pro isn't going to network unlock it, is it?
I have an O2 XDA Pro Version and would love to get updated ROMs.
But can`t sign-up to the Club iMate website with my IMEI details.
Seems to know that this isn`t an iMate model
If you look around this forum, you'll see people have kindly posted links to the various ROMS available. I installed the iMate WWE ROM yesterday - but don't happen to have another SIM to test it with.
I doubt it DOES remove the device's SIM lock though.

HI,
your guess is right .. software update does not remove the netlock.
- Superbowl
Did this myself and tried my old PAYG Orange sim in the MDA Pro. No joy I'm afraid - prompts for unlock code.

Qtek 2020 - no locks, but seeing service only from 1 operator

Hi all,
I'm seeing this strange thing. I have received a Qtek 2020, and I tried to use it with my sim (TIM, Italian Telecom) but I can't see network service, under any circumnstance. Then I swapped my sim card with a Vodafone IT one, and I've seen full signal immediately. Trying to change to another operator like Italian "Wind", took me just as the very 1st step: no signal at all. I tried to change radio rom/os rom, and running unlock tools (they said it's all unlocked). Nothing changed.
Anyone can help me?
Thanks in advance!

Wich radio version is in the mda ????
Try updating it to the latest version seeupgrading part
Hi, thanks for the reply (i was away for holidays )
I've tried *all* of the Radio ROMs for the device (found on buzz's site). Also for the OS rom and extended, when in 2003. Just don't know what else to do!
some older sims are incompatible
some people have reported success with
getting their operator sending them a newer
sim
Already tried!
It seems that works with the old ones as well as with the new ones (my sister has a 6-years-old card from Vodafone, and it WORKS!), but just from that vendor.
I'll just drop it in a trash can!

HTC Trinity Problem (Serious)

Hello, i have a problem with my HTC Trinity, since a few days, i can't connect to my network (Orange), but i can connect to other networks with an other sim (because my trinity is unlocked).
I have found that my IMEI was altered, i think i can put the imei number here because is not a really IMEI: 359426000000007, but on the back of my Trinity, only the 7 last numbers are differents. How i can restore the good IMEI ? And why the IMEI was altered like this ?
I did some research on how change this number but i can't found anything about this version of HTC. Please help me i can't use the telephone fonction in my principal network.
Sorry for my funny english but i consider this forum like the best in the domain.
I hope the trinity is already of actuality. Thank You.
help
I did a lot of research but i don't found anything, I think it's possible with Mtty, but i don't know how to use it. Please, can you explain me the way to do this (if some one know how we do it), i can't use the Gsm part of my trinity
I don't want to change my operator, thank you.
I have found a solution: my nokia 3210
If you have a solution please send me a message.
Thank You for "all" =)
Your emei is not self-altered
What did you do on the device ? ( flashing, installing,... )
Which is the radio version ?
Thank you for your response, i have actually a DOPOD official WM6.
I have tested to downgrade to a WM6 FAMAN and after a DOPOD official WM6 and WM5, but the IMEI don't change (only the last number change). I was return after to the WM6 dopod.
Before, I was tested many other ROM, and the problem is i don't know when exactly the changement was gone because i was'nt in my country for 2 month, i have used an other operator and the ROM i was tested was upgraded during these two months was : Faman & Schap's (french rom) and the FInixNOver, i had no problem before come back in france...
(I had tested also to upgrade the ROM Radio, but nothing too.)
I have read that we have to upgrade to a backup, but i have no backup, i have tested to using a tty program but i'm not good in this domain.
Thank you very much is somebody know a solution... (and sorry for english ^^)
imei problem
Hi,
The first 8 digits in the EMEI number are make and software version.
The other digits are problably overwritten by a software change. (unlock, flash, upgrade, etc)
Try EMEI CHANGER in Google
I already did this kind of search, but nothing for trinity.
what is your radio firmware version now?
I'm now in a 1.30 Olipro radio rom, i had before this recent upgrade the 1.50.08.11
Hi,
You can try http://gsmhosting.com/vbb/archive/index.php/t-341121.html
but returning to your previous radio might do the trick.
Don't work with trinity... changing of radio don't change anything.
I think the only option is get back to HTC in your country than doing too many resettings which make things worst.... I got mine "hang", after too many setting and reflashing..... ;(
Gd Luck.
this solution is too easy, i'm not this kind of person. Thanks anyway, i will test an other solution.

how can i know origin of the phone from serial number

Guys I bought my htc blackstone from a guy here, and I don't know from where he brought it from.
Now there is a rom upgrade, and everytime I enter the serial number into the htc website to download the rom, a messages in red comes up saying the upgrade is not suitable for your device
can anyone tell how can I know from where this guy bought the phone
thanks
i think this means it is a branded htc touch HD and not sim-free so we would of got it on contract (orange if in uk). The htc website will only give you the upgrade file for sim free HD's not branded (orange or so on).
Not so ...
I have an OEM HTC Touch HD, not branded, no contract, sim free phone, and I get exactly the same message as hykhleif.
It all depends on where the unit was originally distributed. For example, if you're unit was supplied originally in Singapore, you CANNOT get any ROM upgrades from the HTC UK site. You have to get the upgrades from the Asian site that handles Singapore.
As far as determining from where the unit was originally supplied, I don't know if the serial number will give you that information.
