Newbee: How to install WidComm? And dose it work? - Networking

Now I have been looking for 2 days on this forum, and I cant find it anywhere!!
Okay, I would like to be in my bed with my PDA, and surf the internet.
I dont have a Bluetooth dongle my self, by the guy next to me has. And I have permision to use his internet connection. (Less than 10 meters away, it about 3-4 meters).
So one problem is that I cant use the BT Active Sync, to surf the internet (I dont know if this is how it is done), like you can surf while the XdaII is in the cradel.
So I have been surfing around, and I think I need the WidComm BT stack to be able to surf the internet over BT. But how is this done. I have downloadet files, and read alot on this forum, but I cant seem to find any install guide those cab files and other thing to the PDA.
And then I have read about alot of users that has had problems with the WidComm stack, and say that the M$ BT stack can do the same in the latest update, but I cant find the settings, it all looks the same.
So if any one can help a XdaII (or PDA) newbee, with an install guide and some of your sugestions for the networking, then I would be realy happy.
BTW, if you also know how to set up an audio gateway on the PDA (for my head set) then that wold be great as well. And maby to get the button on the headset to do M$ voice command (if you have it install), then that would be fantastic.

Try downloading bluetooth tools and see if that works for you.
http://bluetooth.i-networx.de/index_e.html

I did that, but it did not change to much, it only gave me a "call last number" function in the head set, but not any thing with the network

BT and COM
i am having a hard time with it as well, I have win XP pro, and a sitecom USB BT dongle, the drivers for the dongle dont seem to work, it is has if the XP drivers have taken over, all the guides seem to use settings that are not available to the Windows XP BT drivers,
at one point i thought i got it, instead of connecting my XDA to the PC i did it the other way about. This time windows detected and setup some COM ports, although at the moment its at com 13 and 14
(this can be changed by doing to Device manager, selecting the port, properties, advanced, and changing it to whatever you want, it will say the port is in use, but none of the other ports 1-12 are infact in use (although it says they are) not sure if this will generate further problems?
So i think thats the PC side sorted?
now the PDA side, just before i updated PPC2003 i tried this and it didnt work, i then installed those BT tools and it came up with the cool servies page right at the end of setting up a link.
But didn't work, with hindsight i believe it would work if i had connect as i explained above, adding the XDA to the PC.
I then updated PPC2003 useing o2's updater.
setting up a link using the BT settings right after the update did have some extra settings to do with com ports but it still doesnt work and the connect via BT on activesync isnt there.
Then i tried those BT tools everyone is going on about
i get the BT icons on the desktop but thats it, nothing else happens. The cool services screen fails to pop up after setting the link and the connect via BT in sync is also missing.
this might be of no use but at one point useing standard drivers from XP and PPC2003 SP1 i did get a message saying it couldnt connect because it might not be a smart phone or PPC or somthing like that. im totally stuffed with this.
oh it does connect in that i can transfer files TO the XDA but not the other way about.

Hello folks!
This is how I've done it...
1- I installed Widcomm version 1.3.2.7 (on the PC) (BTW I use a Cheap-o-Epox USB dongle)
2- I Downloaded BT Tools (http://bluetooth.i-networx.de/index_e.html)
3- I established an Activesync connection through Bluetooth (this is done on the PocketPC by using the Activesync/Tools/Connect via 'computername')
4- I configured Widcomm to always trust the incoming MDA2 Bluetooth connection.
5- That's it, works every time... (well actually sometimes works on the second try but works nonetheless)
Good luck!
Rayan

I've also had some success with the Widcomm stack, but I have one problem.
In order for the bluetooth connection to work, I need to log into an account on the XP machine. If someone else then comes along and logs into another account, then my bluetooth connection is dropped. Also, if I don't log into an account, then I can't use bluetooth.
Basically, it seems to be the case that instead of running as a service, the bluetooth stack is running in user accounts. Anyone else got experience with this? Is there a way to configure the installation so that it runs as a service?

Hi Guys,
I have a similar question... is there a release due / tools available to fully utulise the bluetooth stack like the ipaqs for example. Ipaqs can locate and connect to devices as a 'hunter' but the XdaII just seems to be the 'hunted' when it comes to establishing a connection. Is there any way to make my otherwise excellent XdaII a bit more agressive when it comes to seeking out bluetooth connections??? I have already installed the Bluetooth tools v1.01 but this doesn't help the actual 'seeking' connectivity part of things
Can any of you bright sparks out there help ???? If enough people wanted this functionality, what would it cost to develop if it is not available maybe ???
just a thought. Cheers all.

I found the answer to how to install the .cab file, just copy it to your device and select it in file manager, it then install's itself.
If I manage to connect my GTek 2020 to my BT AP with this I'll let you know!

Bluetooth Questions

Hi.
I have Orange SPV M1000.
I have tried to get it bonded to a Logitech diNovo keyboard on my PC.
By trying to add it to Settings | Connections | Connections | Advanced | Select Networks | New (internet) | New | (a name : abc, a modem: bluetooth) Next | New... | My_PCs_Name | Next | Name: my_pcs_name |Finish
Then the pops 2 requesters up
1.) This bluetooth device supports Serial port profile, would you like to create a Bluetooth serial port for it? (My answer: both yes or no)
2.) This bluetooth device supports headset profile, would you like to set it as your bluetooth headset? (My answer : No)
I have tried this when Connections | Bluetooth | was set to both "Discoverable" and "On"
but apparantly to no avail.
What I would have liked to work was:
1.) bluetooth activesync
2.) browsing via bluetooth from my PC's connections
3.) filetransfer via bluetooth (might go under activesync)
But I seem unable to get it to work.
Does anyonw have some ideas for this.
Thank you in advance.
Best regards: Jacob Eskildsen / eskildsen
there is no one around here seems to know this
i have been trying to do the exact thing for a few days now, had no joy at all.
there is not even one person using this kind of connection? or just do bother to tell.
I can make PC side working. Internet Connection Sharing bit, and I can even PING my PC from XDAII.
can somebody here help. if you really did this yourself
activesync and internet through bt
I just got activesync and internet working through bt . But I'm not sure how I did it . I have no extra bt software on my phone. I have a usb BT dongle (MSI) and I paired both of the devices. In all the settings I made sure internet sharing was allowed, on the BT network. In activesync in options - rules Pass through is ticked with connection to internet.
On the XDA started activesync through bt and my computer accepted it, and started to sync, the internet then started to work. i think active sync needs to be on for internet to work.
I don't really know the precise instructions, wish I did because i've just lost the connection again, and it will most probably take me another hour to work it out. think this time I better write it down!!!
If you could sync via Bluetooth, then browsing and file transfer via Bluetooth are possible. I've been able to do all of them. Just make sure you choose the ActiveSync profile when you pair your Pocket PC with the Bluetooth device on your desktop PC. If the ActiveSync profile is not available, then choose the Serial Port profile. But afterwards, you would have to go to ActiveSync Connection Settings and manually select the serial port you created.
thanks for advice
I've been having problems, like many people. And I've did what they did. Downloaded bt tools and its working excellent : ). I'm writing this on my xda2, downstairs from my computer. I'm well chuffed. Thanks for your quick reply, it seems your using bt tools too.
Am I ever going to get the hang of this!! BT Activesync ???
I'm able to get Activesync and thus internet through BT, but if I stop bluetooth on my XDA2, and then turn it back on and try to sync, I get an error message, stating Port not available.
What going on? how do I make this port avaliable. I thought I could turn BT on and off without problems, is this not the case. Is my computer configured wrong?
Help!!
Replying to myself!!
OK my problem has been solved, I just turn the BT off and on on my computer.
But what I really want, is to be able to not have to change anysetting on my computer. I would like to be able to enter my house and connect to BT, and then turn it off if I want, and then back on, and then off, on ,off, on..... You get the gist, without have to go upstair to my computer each time.
Any ideas :?
Hi,
Take a look at the guides for bluetooth ActiveSync'ing....
HERE
Thanks
Thank you for that Darius, i'd seen that guide before but forgot where it was. It has helped me to get activesync going anyway. I have actually hard rebooted my XDA2 because my Jabra BT200 stopped working, actually the phone software also buggered up. would ring people but they coud not hear me. Think it may have been BT Tools  Which is a shame, I liked the desktop icons it gave.
At this moment in time I am in the process of restoring my data to my phone over BT, Just hope the BT200, will still work, because before it worked excellent a 100% of the time.
Ive read quite a few threads talking about changing the BT stack, for a more reliable one, but I'm worried about mucking the XDA2 up more.
My next worry is that I've ordered a BT GPS reciever, and I'm gonna try to get Tom Tom working with it, I'm sure I'm gonna have to read quite a few more posts to sort that out. I thought I was good on computers, I think I will have to rethink that altogether.

Bluetooth GPRS on PC

Hi,
I'm trying to use my XDA2 to provide Internet Access (GPRS) via BT to my portable PC.
I'm using my PCs built-in Bluetooth-module (running on WIDCOMM 1.4.1 Build 6)
I have no problem synchronizing my XDA2 with Outlook using BT (since this is a connection initiated by the XDA2) but if I "browse" the services on my XDA2 from my PC I only get OBEX Object Push.
I know from previous occations that you should be able to see Serial Ports etc.
My XDA2 is running on the following version:
R: 1.06.01
G: 1337.16
D: 1.60.00WWE
And Pocket Bluetooth Tools
Can anyone tell me what to look for?
Thanx in advance
Frank.
You can try using the XDA II in the wireless modem mode... See your program files for this application. Works for me.
There's your problem... You need to uninstall Pocket Bluetooth Tools; it removes your SSA service (which you need for BT Wireless Modem)
Hmm I also do use the Bluetooth Tools so I doubt you need to remove this very handy app. ?
Hi.
Well, I had to hard-reset my PDA in order to remove Pocket Bluetooth Tools (PBT), so I don't know if it was the hard-reset or PBT that did the works, but now I get the SSA profile and can connect to it without any problems.
Unfortunatly I lost the option to sync my PDA via Bluetooth, since Active Sync cant find any ports. So I'll give PBT another try, otherwise I'll just use the FIR-port to sync.
Thank you for your help. I'll let you know how things work out, when I re-install PBT.
Best regard,
Frank.
What ROM you running? With the 1.72, you have the options of enablign outgoing and incoming COM ports in the settings menu (Start --> Settings --> Bluetooth Settings)
Before installing Bluetooth Tools, I've got: Serial, SSA, Object Push, and one more.
After installing: I've only got Serial and the other one that I cannot remember.
--------------------------
For me, it was the Bluetooth Tools that was holding me back. I've emailed the author to see whether he can add the SSA port.
Update:
Well, first of all, I was thrilled to find out that I no longer have to start the Wireless Modem-app to use the GPRS-connection on my laptop. Apperantly a modem-emulator runs in the background, so my XDA2 stays fully functional while its forwarding GPRS traffic. (Though I think it's strange that theres no indication what-so-ever that the GPRS is in use - normally you get a different icon at the antenna)
Anyways, I installed the latest version af Pocket Bluetooth Tools (PBT). And the SSA-profile was still there and working. Then I paired my laptop using the ActiveSync profile in PBT - and wupti: Both the GPRS "dial-through"/SSA and ActiveSync is working - at the same time.
Now, all thats left is to pair it with my BT GPS receiver. Can't do it at moment since it's at home - I don't expect any problems with it though. Usually works without problems.
Thank you again for your input.
Frank.
hmm... that's awesome. I'll install Pocket Bluetooth again and see whether it works.
Can you answer these:
1. Which ROM you using (ie. O2 1.60)
2. Which version of Pocket Bluetooth Tools? 1.1.0.0?
Thanks... That's awesome news though. I love how it turns the Bluetooth on and off automatically.
WeatherB:
I'm using ROM 1.60.00WWE (QTek) and the latest version of PBT (1.1.0.0)
It works like a dream
I guess it's possible that Pocket Bluetooth is conflicting with 1.72
I know for a fact, that ver. 1.1.0.0 is conflicting with 1.72 - my friend tried to use this.
He then installed a previous version of PBT, but still can't see the SSA-profile, but the ActiveSync profile now works.
He will try to uninstall PBT and see if the SSA appears.
oh okay... I might have to downgrade to 1.60...
What's the main difference between 1.60 and 1.72?
WeatherB:
I just talked to my friend again. Seems I misunderstood him the first time. The reason he uses an older version of PBT is that with the new version his headset-profile is not supported.
Apparantly the biggest advantage of the 1.70 is the improved battery lifetime. He says he only charges his battery twice as often now. I'm sure there are other improvements - I just can't find 'em in the Upgrade 'n Modifying-forum right now.
I did the downgrade to 1.60 last night and I noticed something weird about PBT... After bonding with a device, you need to leave that last screen (the one that PBT created) unchecked and all will work fine.
Not sure if I tried this workaround with 1.72; but non-the-less, seems to be working. I did however lose the Audio Gateway after installing PBT. But no biggie, don't want to listen use my PDA as an audio gateway for my PC.
WeatherB:
Hmm. I checked the Active Sync-box, otherwise I couldn't connect via Active Sync over BT, since it wasn't in the menu.
But I don't remember if I paired it from the PDA or the PC. But everything works - also the GPS - so I guess it's simply a question on fidling with it.
Exactly... I'll play with it and see how to get the most out of it without messing it up.

Bluetooth Chat with: BuZZone

Hi all I would like to get this application working but it does not look like the test application works on our XDA's?? :-( It is saying somthing about needing the WIDCOMM drivers.... Any idea if there is an esay and safe way to get this utility working?
Hear is the web address of where you can find the application:
http://www.buzzone.net/eng/index.html
Thanks guys
Just install the latest Widcomm PPCPE drivers in "Hacking It"
Thanks for the reply rahjinoh, I will give that a go, I did see somthing about Widcomm drivers but when i looked into that option it seemed very complicated and a number of people where having problems with the XDA II with it would I be correct in saying that?
I'm a little scared to install it if its going to cause me any problems as I use a Bluetooth GPS (with Destinator 3) as well as the O2 Bluetooth headset (The new one, works like a charm)... I use both these bluetooth devices on a daily basis and cant affort them to go down.
Any idea if I will run into any problems if I install this Widcomm driver?
How does it work?
Do I have 2 bluetooth drivers installed then? both MS and Widcomm?
Sorry for all the questions would like to try and find out if it is a simple process or if I could run into problems....
Many thanks!
The Widcomm works with everything EXCEPT headsets.
The GPS would work with Widcomm but not the O2 headset, not yet at least.
Both the stacks will coexists and you can turn on 1 at a time.
I use that stack as well, some people get the "Cannot initialise bluetooth hardware" once in a while, but mine's fine.
I used the Widcomm with Widcomm related software, otherwise, my MS Bluetooth stack is on most of the time.
I use the MS one for my Motorola Headset and Bluetooth GPS, and the Widcomm one for other purposes, like BuzzOne
just remember that you can only enable 1 stack at a time
thanks for the reply rahjinoh
This sounds like a lot of messing around unfortunatly, I wish bluetooth would come up with some starndards and stop stuffing around so much, its going to die in the long run if they don't I recon. I've read that the makers of bluetooth have not stoped any research and devolopment with the technology (Sony/Ericson) this does not seem to be a good step but I don't blame them really as the software side of things is a compleat MESS!!!
Is Microsoft going to be fixing up there drivers? or has the problems been fixed in the Newer Windows 2003 SE Phone Edition? (Which I hope is going to be comming out for our XDA II's some time soon??)...
Cheers!!!
Any more news any one? any ideas what I can do to get my Bluetooth GPS, Head Set and Software Programs to work with ease and no problems?
Still no news??? ANY ONE???
Has any one mannaged to find an easy way to get this program working as yet?
still no news or any ways to get this software working is there? I need a solution that will work with my Bluetooth GPS (and current software, Destinator 3), Bluetooth Headset as well as this program...
Any thoughts any one?
Might want to read this...
http://www.buzzone.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=12
Thanks for the reply Nighthawk...
I have seen that post before, but what I am worried about is that I've noticed that people on XDA-Forum has posted that you cannot use your Bluetooth Headset if you don't use the MS Stack? Is this correct?
I use a Bluetooth - GPS, Headset and software... Will I have any problems with these?
easiest way to configure internet bluetoothsharing
get widcom drivers from this site
http://forum.xda-developers.com/download.php?id=1436
then put all these files in your pocket pc windows main folder
\Windows.
go to file explorer of your pocket pc and extract these thre which you downloaded or run these files from your pocket pc..
now your bluetoth manager is installed. then just go to this site
and learn step by step to configure your pocket pc for intenet connection sharing with your desktop
http://en.pdamobiz.com/en/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=32&PN=1
i think its the easiest way to do in min not hours
best regards for all my brothers.
Thanks for the reply maani_ch, great advice, only 1 question... If I install these drivers. Do you know if I can still use my Bluetooth GPS with my Bluetooth Heatset at the same time as I do at the moment???
As well as both of them working of course!
CHEERS!
Good question Guest, thats exactualy what I would like to konw, I'm a little scared to install stuff on my XDA now days as in the past I've learned that sometimes things just stop working after installing some applications and it's hard to find out what it is (as it is normaly combinations of things)... As I use it for work it's hard to afford any down time with my phone...
Any answers to the previous questions as to how it would work with Bluetooth GPS and Bluetooth Head set at the same time?
SSA connection is problem...Can any 1 help with a solution?

universal and bluetooth connection

So far I have been unable to syncronise using bluetooth. I could do it without much sweat win pda2k (ba), but not with jasjar (universal) so far. Any other owner managed to figure out how to do it? Cheers.
Got it working no problem at all. In fact I managed this before I managed to get it working with USB.
I used the same method that one would use for any WM2003 device.
Set PDA to discoverable on JASJAR
Look for BT devices from PC
Select the JASJAR
Select BT serial port
Find out the COM port of this serial port. Note it down.
Fire up activesync
Change the connection settings to look on the com port you noted down.
On JASJAR got to BT settings
Add a BT device
Select your PC
Select Activesync partner
Go to activesync
Select synch via BT from the menu
i will try again
i prefer the wm2003 wizard to wm2005, i will see maybe i missed something. thanks for clear instructions
still problem with bluetooth
Well I still have been unable to get the bluetooth working for the syncing. I follow the instructions in the booklet and help files, + what I just been told, but there are two issues,
the serial port is for outgoing from the PC, so that could not be used.
In the Com ports tabs two com ports get assigned one for incoming and one for outgoing, with the BA, we use the incoming which we feed into the Activesync, and it works then.
If I do that and create a sync relationship on the pda, there is the option of assigning outgoing port from pda, however when relationship is created only the incoming serial is showing up...
anyways, i have no problem using bluetooth on BA, and could not get it to work on jasjar/htc univ.
Doesnt matter I dont mind using the cable, but dishing the equivalent of US$1400 for a pda whose wizards dont work properly is a bit of an anteclimax.
And talking about ergonomics, the virtual keyboard has the annoying tendency to cover what u are going to write, so u dont see what u are writing...
They also removed the Avantgo utility from the IE, but I got it back by installing the one for winCE and upgrading over...
So for now, I will keep working on my BA (pda2k) as I dont want to waste my time working around bugs, until these get ironed out.
Greetings
Nabil H
I hope all these bugs will be fixed after the official launch
working at last
i managed to get the bluetooth syncing, the secret
1. hard reset,
2. recognise device on pc side
3. create activesync partnership on pda side
4. check incoming com port on pc side
5. feed that to activesync on pc side
6. check activesync partnership from pda side with pc
7. pda will pick up on partnership serial connection as being activesync
8. incoming and outgoing com ports ready to be used on pda side
9. choose outgoing com port on pda same as incoming com port on pc
10. connection established syncing starts...
All this without starting using the usb cable (so different from BA method)...
hope it helps others...
probs... again
Now after setting up and synicng with bluetooth I used the usb link to sync, and it complained about an error. I had to remove the bluetooth setup, and it is still complaining, I give up
I guess the famous russian saying is very wise: "Better is the enemy of the good"

bluetooth, usb link and wifi
No wonder bluetooth was turned off by default in this jasjar shipment. I believe the following are bugs:
1. U can set up activesync over bluetooth initially after a hard reset.
2. If you then set it up after over a usb link, u lose the bluetooth setting, and can only sync over bluetooth after a hard reset again!
3. If u set up bluetooth, u get difficulties with wifi not connecting (on my system I can only get that back by disabling my wifi connection then enabling it again, dont ask me why this is so, i do not have the foggest clue)
4. When ur wifi is worknig u start having problems with bluetooth connections.
5. Even with a bluetooth sync working, u cannot browse folders on ur jasjar device from another device, as this service does not seem to be implemented.
This does not look very good for users who have multiple/various network connections...
So a patch is already needed for these connectivity issues...
Developers, look into this please...

wifi and bluetooth - solved
I finally managed, after some sweat to get:
. Wifi and bluetooth working together
. Two pda's BA and Universal using wifi simultaneously.
However what cannot be done is:
. Using two pda's with activesync simultaneously, this is a limitation of MS Activesync.

Bluetooth ActiveSync Setup Help please.

Hi Members,
I have just joined the site and this is my first post to try and find a solution to the most annoying frustrating problem im having. I am trying to connect a o2 XDA Mini to my laptop via bluetooth over a belkin dongle. My system only shows com port 4 then 9 12 etc. I have tried using 4 many times. Both the phone and the pc partner ok, but then when i try to sync from the handset the PDA try's to partnet again and will not connect. I have tried other ports, no good! same result. I then searched google extensivly and tried installing other stacks Widcomm, blue soleil etc as i aslo have cards and dongles for those, still no joy. Is the phone broken? Well my wife has the same make and model. Her one wouldnt connect either!! whats the problem with this phone/PDA. Do you have to be a rocket scientist to use BT or what. I visited other sites and forums and posed the question there. Apart from one reply it appears no one seems to know either way. Any help or guides other than the outdates geekzone(2004) would be most appreciated as i think those guides were not created for WM5 systems lol
Thank you and fingers crossed lol
EFM
I've always had problems syncing over bluetooth.
I dont have a WM2005 device, but my XDA mini exhibits the same problems.
I did get my xda to sync through bluetooth on my windows computer, but that was using bluesoeil. Strange thing was, after i switched stacks to the normal windows one, when i successfully sync'ed through bluesoeil, it WORKED!!
A hard reset has happened since then and im plagued with problems.
If you use a mac and a PC like me, i found it very easy to sync my xda mini through bluetooth with a mac. (provided you have buy the software).
If you search even harder through google, theres a page i came across which shows you, through windows cmd line, delete ports and free some up. Havent tried it tho.
Anyways goodluck, try hard resetting and starting fresh if you wanna sync wirelessly that bad.
Try this
Try this , it may work for you. Also I found that XP SP2 is needed if you wnt to sync via BT
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=246847
Good luck
Ciao
works perfectly for me using different versions of vidcomm on the belkin and logitech dongles i have on various computers
on the pda i just choose the IMSync or whatever it's called as profile
and start activesync on the pda click on sync over bluetooth and it does
Heres something i found...
http://help.lockergnome.com/general/Activesync-Port-Availability-Bluetooth-ftopict26563.html
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;315539
thats how to delete ghost ports from your system.
I got everything NEARLY set up, i cant set a outgoing port!.
I even hard reseted, still no luck, i think i just need to set a outgoing port to get this to work.
whitemoo.
ok...after restoring my backup from the hard reset, i rebooted the phone.
Then i got side tracked and went on the XDA-developers wiki.
Seeing that 'set up your own bluetooth personal network' article, i decided to set it up.
Figuring out that the original bluetooth stack is worthless, i switched to bluesoeil and rebooted.
Bluesoeil did not work for some reason, and couldnt find my bluetooth hardware, so rebooted the phone with the normal stack.
I went into the normal stack that came with my phone, and mysteriously, i could set outgoing ports!
I set the port my outgoing port to comm0 and tried to sync.
AND IT WORKED!!...its finally syncing!
Oh btw, i found this file in my ext rom: called 'default_BT_com_port0.cab' i installed it and it allowed me to set comm0 in the normal staCK. Previously before i installed that cab, i couldnt see ANY avalible com ports to set.
YAY!...whitemoo.
Hi
Thanks for the advise there it was appreciated. I have tried the different bluetooth devices two doggles and a card all with widcomm and microsoft drivers all have not worked blue soleil wouldnt find a serial port on my phone only dUN and Push obex. I have spent ages on this now i figured it just a worhless wm5 smartphone with a keboard.. oh MS if your listening re XDA Mini factor it in to the guidebook how to sync to an everyday computer to bluetooth. You provide the function but it dont work.. crapper ive had it with this overated smartphone with a slide out keyboard. worse thing is how much i paid for it. what a rip off!! I could get an old C500 WM2003 to BT sync on all three of these BT dongle/card.
Oh well thx.. Guys glad you got a result with yours bravo' lol
Many thanks for the input.

Hi again,
I have tried to contact o2 re this matter they tell me it cant be done via activesync and bluetooth. Has any one else managed to sync an XDA min via activesync to there computer. I am running xp pro SP2, Activesync Ver. 4.1 of the cover disc with the phone. I downloaded 4.2 and 4.5Beta to make sure none work. Google searches reveal nothin g on the subject. The model i appear to have is the WIZA200 version with WM5 rom version 5.1.195 (build 14847.2.0.0).
Any clues folks
