Hi all mate,
I need an information: On the qtek 2020 is it possible to set-up multiple e-mail account? :?:
And multiple gprs accounts? :?:
And multiple wap accounts? :?:
I need to know this coz i have more than one e-mail and more than one carrier! :!:
Also, if there isn't any possibility of multiple accounts on WM2003, is there any 3rd party software to solve this "problem"?
Thank you all!
Cya, BYEZ!
try playing with the device it's pretty easy to set up as many emails and grps's as you like
of cause your grps is connected to the phonecompany
so i would guess you would have to change sim to the other company to be able to use their grps
thanks!
this is exactly what I hoped to hear!

Does anyone know if it's possible to configure the XDA2 (O2 UK) to use both Activesync and Exchange MMIS as well as Blackberry?
I'd like to continue to use ActiveSync/MMIS for my corporate email, but try to get the Blackberry software setup for my personal email.
Thoughts anyone?
Yes, it is possible. Blackberry installs itself as a separate message service so it has its own inbox etc.

Hi all,
I have an imode subs. which originaly is only to be used on reserved mobile phones from the operator. I could have the parameters to connect from all phones. It is working nice on my Xda2.
But the proxy they use only allows me surfing (port 80).
Therefore I would like to know how I can bypass the proxy (10.10.100.10:5080) with my own home server translating/forwarding the request from my XDA.
Example :
I connect GPRS with my XDA, I tell my Pocketoutlook to use pop server "myhomePC.com:80" and my home PC will transfer to "MyPOPsupplier:110"
Same could apply for other services...
Thanks For your help :?: :?: :?:
not possible, it is a http proxy so it restricts which connections you make to port 80. Out of my experience with imode i know going to the proxy for POP3 does not work. The only thing which is easy and I also use for my email is http://mail2web.com. There you can check POP3/IMAP (+SSL) to read your email on your xda 2
hope this helps
Ever tried this one ?
hi thanks for your reply. Have you ever tried this one ?
http://www.pocketgear.com/software_detail.asp?id=9539
Can some users of Imode on XDA try it and let us know the results ?
I can have it working... do not know why because it is only http requests.
Thanks
Stéphane
That is because it tunnels your mail over HTTP. This is only possible with MSN or hotmail accounts and not with other POP3/IMAP accounts.
Hi,
Can't seem to send any emails from my Tiscali account. Downloading emails is fine, but it will not send anything, and replies with:
(Subject)
System Administrator
Invalid Message Recipients
(Email Content)
Your message 'message title' was not sent and has been moved to the drafts folder.
The following recipients are invalid:
'recipients email'
Whats going on?!?!!
Cheers

I had this problem too to start with..
I got round it by using the Outgoing mail server as smtp.t-email.co.uk
I use that for NTL mail.
Also, make sure that you have the option for 'Outgoing mail requires authentication' is you need it.
I use this for all my other pop3 mail accounts.
Hope that does it for you
ohh...That's for T-mobile however..
No joy Im afraid. Changed to 'Outgoing mail requires authentification'....same response. Even tried smtp.t-email.co.uk  but still nothing....thanks anyway though.
Anyone got the answer???
HPJ
this is to do with your smtp server's security settings. You must use the smtp server provided by whoever is connecting you. In this case if it's t-mobile 3G or gprs, then you must use correct t-mobile smtp server. You will then very likely find that it fails when you send mail via your PC activesync as your PC is connected to the internet via your BT ADSL account (or whatever) which has not been allowed by t-mobile. get the plot?
not really...I'm afraid I am a total novice at this stuff....in fact I'm surprised I have got this far!
It is a tiscali account. I have used all the tscali settings as requested, and as worked on my xda2s. For some reason it just doesnt work on my exec.
HPJ
In my experience, if you're using an O2 then it should be
smtp.o2.co.uk for the outgoing server....try it with authentication ON and OFF and see which works. I can't remember off-hand as I haven't really used any of my XDA's for outgoing mail, only incoming.
Cheers
Ant
cheers ant, I'll give it a go a little later and let you know......fingers crossed...

yep, I've been messing around with settings, and now I cant even send emails from my Tiscali account on my PC.
I give up.
The real irony is that I own an IT Consultancy company .........note the word 'own'....not 'work in'.....hence my complete incompetence with IT. Where the hell are my consultants when you need em eh?!?!?!
I'm your friendly neighbourhood it consultant
It doesn't matter what you are connected to to receive e mails. ie you could be on NTL and receive by e mails & vice verca
When you are sending e mails it is a diffent story.
If you are on NTL you have to use the NTL smtp address & if you are on BT you have to use your BT smtp address
o2 is smtp.o2.co.uk
Just tested it on mine & it works
& if u still have probs with your home one.
I'll guide u through that.
Just add me to msn

mate, thank you very much, that's a very kind offer. I will try again and see what happens, and post my (hopefully successful) results soon.
cheers

Crossed fingers
Just set your outoing mail server to whatever connection you are using to send the mail. The golden rule.
If you have setup your connection to work via GPRS, you will find it wont send mail when connected to WI-FI as its using a different connection and the outgoing mail server would have to be changed
I'VE FINALLY DONE IT!!!!
thanks everyone for your help. I'd like to say that will be my last dumb ass question, however I have a feeling it won't be!
cheers

Yes, as POP3 is a standard TCP/IP protocol as is HTTP, you can access it via Wi-Fi. That is, if you have a working POP3 mailbox already configured on your PDA, it should work over Wi-Fi connections too.
Note that SMTP (outgoing mail) is a bit different question. If you plan to send mails too (not just receive them), you may end up having to use SMTP authentication.
OK! im glad that I can do that!!! Could you give me some information on the settings that I need to use so I can get it to work??
Thanks!

Hi All,
A while ago all of a sudden POP3 stopped working on my MDA (MDA Vario). Since then I can't download any e-mails any more on my POP3 account over GPRS.
First I thought it was my GPRS provider, so I tried downloading the e-mail over Wifi (over cable) instead of GPRS. Unfortunately, this did not solve the problem. I called my e-mail provider and asked whether MDAs were blocked from downloading POP3 e-mails. They said no.
I searched the forum, and found the suggestion that SSL must be switched off in the register, not only in the e-mail settings. I tried that, but it didn't help. I could not find any other posting that could help.
So my question is, is there anyone who can help or has suggestions?
I already thought of a worst-case work-around: forwarding the e-mail to the e-mail account account with IMAP in order to be able to read it on my MDA (that works fortunately), but my provider doesn't support e-mail forwarding, so no work-around.....
Note: I have also tried deleting and re-creating the POP3 account, but that didn't help either...
