Flagged e-mail messages and Drafts Folder - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 General

Is it possible to synchronise flagged e-mail messages rather than the most recent, and to synchronise the Drafts folder as well (or even instead) of Inbox.
The range of things that can be synchronised seems very limited, or is that just me and how my device is set up?

Getting alerts for new mail in subfolders (Exchange)

I'm syncing to an Exchange-server, and have organized it using rules to move certain e-mails to certain sub-folders of the inbox. However, I'm not getting any messages or alerts that new mail have arrived in these sub-directories of the inbox, which makes automatic syncronizing with the Exchange-server rather useless.
I just want the Wizard (in my case: Qtek 9100 NOR) to show all new e-mail on the ToDay-screen and alert me. I think this is typical "Outlook-behaviour" which won't allert me about new mail in subfolders too (but that I can live with).
Anybody know how to solve this? Maybe it's a registry-setting?
I had the same question. Yes, it's typical behavior. I solved it another way. I use so called search folders in the Outlook 2003 instead of moving to real subfolders. All messages arrive in Inbox folders both in the Outlook 2003 and in PDA, so e-mail notification works for each message.
I use search-folders too in Outlook 2003. But they are not available on the Wizard which makes the use of rules and subfolders much easier to use.

Outlook problem

I successfully configured my outlook to receive my gmail messages. A big problem that I am having is that after my email is downloaded, i'll read it but then when I come back later, the message is no longer there.
It not even in the deleted items folder (messages I delete are still there though). Btw I set gmail to archive messages after downloading them POP, but can this be the reason?

Exchange with Multiple Folders Problem

I have about 20 sub folders off my main inbox for exchange server 2003. Only the items in my main inbox are counted as items unread on my device. If i have say 4 emails in another folder, it does not show that they are unread unless i click the inbox and switch to that folder. I want to know if i have unread messages in all my folders just from looking at the today screen. Is there a fix for this? Also push mail only seems to work for my main inbox too, not for the subfolders, i have to manually syncronize to get the rest of the messages to download. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

I'm not even able to get the email from the other folders on my cell phone. Only email from my inbox comes in - are there any settings I can change for this?
yea. with the mail inbox open go to manage folders, then you can tell it which folders to sync
Is that not because of how outlook works?
I think it's always been like that: It just tells you how many mails you have in your inbox, subfolders are not included...

Pocket outlook & message rules/filters

Is there anything out there that would give pocket outlook e-mail filter capability like the desktop version to move email to a certain folder based on the senders address? I found a program called Pocket Outlook Mail Organizer and it gives outlook the ability to setup message rules but I would like to see if there are any alternatives specifically free ones.
If your using a MS Exchange account for your email, rules like that are handled by the server. Just set them up in outlook or OWA, then the message is filtered to the folder as soon as it hits the server... You don't need to do anything on your phone...
You do have to setup each of the subfolders to sync via the manage folders menu on your phone and WM won't alert when a new message arrives in these folders.

Click to collapse
Sounds good...if you do not have exchange are their any options?
Im surprised that no one has reply with a answer that does not require exchange, how are u guys filtering the e-mail you receive?

Gmail and Folders Issue

I currently organise my mail into their respective folders, so they don't appear in the inbox.
WIth the X1, it doesn't notify you when you have a new message in any folder, it only notifies you when you have a new message in the inbox only.
I think it would quite useful if a program was developed to create a same notification when an email arrives in any folder in Outlook on teh X1, not just in the inbox.
Any suggestions?
I've had the same problem. The way I solved it was to go to your settings in Gmail (from the web, not your phone) and forward all incoming mail to your Hotmail account. If you don't have one, get one. Now when your phone syncs with hotmail, You will get all your email as they arrive.....And Your Gmail mail will be untouched still in their folders. There's really no need to check Gmail anymore as all your mail is forwarded to one account (Hotmail).
I prefer to use Gmail as my primiary account and don't like having so many email accounts.
I'm sure this is just a case of tell the phone to notify you when ANY folder has a new message in it.
