Hello guys...
It hadn't happened to me before and I don't know what triggered it. Since this morning, every time I try to browse the web, even if the Universal is synced to the pc, PIE gives me a "page cannot be found" error. Opera, on the other hand, works fine!
Any ideas?
I've had this problem too on my XDA IIi and also on older model XDA's. It only happens for me when connected to ASync, GPRS i have no problems. A quick soft reset solves the problem but it returns after so long. My emails would still download...
I don't seem to have noticed it recently (maybe cause i don't use it so much) but i did use the hack to move Temporary Internet Files to storage (or SD card) where i have much more free space. Give that a try, tell me if it makes a difference!
I have a problem when connected via activesync in that sometimes when trying to use internet explorer when it connects to a page it just simply closes down.
That is internet explorer just closes. Not hidden, not under running tasks. Have only noticed it when trying to access a couple of particular sites.
So I am wondering if there is a piece of code on the web site that IE doesnt like and occasionaly trips it over.
Not a problem to me yet. I either dont bother accessing the page or try a soft reset.
Did you move your temporary internet files to your sdcard? Does the problem go away if you go into tools\options\memory and click delete files and click clear history? If yes, your temp files have possibly become corrupt.
I use Storage for my temp internet file/cookies and history but you can use a SD card. This does have the benefit of surviving a soft and hard reset.
It's been a while but i can remember clearing files in the options when using normal memory, it still failed to load/find pages until i soft reset. Even tried completely closing PIE and starting up again, still had to do a reset.
For me it seemed to happen more if i had set the options to download all images.

up still face the same prob
I'm facing the same problem after upgrading to the latest firmware, IE won't open any site, but Opera, MSN, Email .. etc are working fine.
Yo,
what I get is a lot of red-X'd pictures - WHY is that??
Also Bluetooth internet browsing is very flakey - keeps diconnecting?? (although activesync connection is stable) ....
so, the answer is....
replace that half baked piece of Micro$oft crap with a decent browser, such as Opera?
BTW, where do I get Opera for the PPC anyway??
Andy
(I be mostly writing this reply on my Xda using WiFi connection at work to gain internet access).

With my old PDA2K I used to have the same problem. The solution in my case was to execute the file Welcome.exe from the windows directory. It seems the connection settings or explorer settings got corrupted from time to time and running the welcome.exe seemed to correct the problem without affecting any other settings of the machine. But Iam not sure this is the problem in your case... but maybe it may also affect the universal and not just the blueangel.
Before I start, yes I know to try searching the forums first and if thats fails search the web...I have...hence me turning to posting this
The problem is, I am looking for a smaller, faster replacement for Pocket IE. One program in particular, but I cant remember its name (hence searching for it being a problem  )
Name was something like vx????? or xP????? - anyone help?
Thanks
don't know which program you're try to recall. but opera 8.6 works much better than PIE.
You were looking for ftxPbrowser. But it's not optimised for WM5 yet.
ftxPBrowser
Mobile IE sucks. ftxPBrowser works pretty well for Windows Mobile 5 on my MDA Pro. The AOL classic e-mail URL works to some degree--I can get all of my text e-mails, but I cannot get anything with a "picture"--in other words, HTML. Handango sells a program to directly connect to AOL e-mail--but it also doesn't work properly--it displays HTML messages as HTML code! And there is no reply button or back button!!
Opera works well to display Web pages, but will not access AOL e-mail at all.
So: what else is there? Surely there's got to be something better!!

Strange you've found ftxPBrowser usable under WM5 (read my related article on its problems under WM5.)
As far as your (and the others') other questions are concerned, read my browsing-related articles at http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/index.php?cat=61 - they answer ALL your questions.
Opera Mini?
I checked your link--it's your blog. I skimmed through it and I don't see how it answers my questions. Why would Opera Mini solve the problems, if Opera [regular] would not? Have you tested Opera Mini with AOL?
I've tried these two browsers but i've some problems with some web pages like mail webpage of my e-mail provider Libero Italy or the itinerary of Viamichelin web page. Pages go ahead but don't charge everything well, making usage impossible.
Thia happens also using Operamini as java applet.
I'm using the new official gps enabled Rom but this happened also with the former Rom.
My old Samsung phone managed java Operamini applet to show everything.
Does somebody know this issue and has a solution?
The good thing about the trinity is to behave like a PC along the street, but without this kind of pages many advantages become lost.
Thaks for replies

I've just bought the MDA Vario II and yes it is very cool, however I've noticed a few issues I have that make it not so useful for me.
I use Yahoo Web mail a lot (no I don't want to set up an account on my phone), I can select to go to my Inbox, I can select individual mail items or select them to delete.
However, I cannot access any of the standard e.g.
CHECK MAIL/COMPOSE/REPLY/DELETE
buttons, so I can't actually reply to anyone. Very fustrating!
Also there are other web pages I use where I get a similar problem and cant access buttons that would normally be available on a desktop pc.
I've talked to T-mobile about this and they've not really got any help on this, one of the support guys said to load the latest flash player as that helped him. Tried that, no luck.
Can anyone help me with this as it seriously affects my use of this otherwise cool phone.
Cheers
Either upgrade to WM6 (for free from the site) do some reading prior to that,
or download and install the opera browser for ppc and use it, it works.
Cheers
I'm not sure my request is in the right topic (if not, could you please let me know?)
Anyway, I'd like to know if there is a program that allows us to reload automatically the pages from Opera or IE. In fact, I check my work emails using webmail and Opera. The problem is that after a while (without reloading), I have to enter a password (a long one given randomly by a device) what is very annoying! That could be avoided with this kind of program!
Thanks in advance for your help
