Sending Service codes from "Contacts" on Qtek-2020 - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 General

Qtek-2020
If you try to send service codes, like *121*1*<number># for Call diverting, from an entry in "Contacts" you get "Service codes must be entered directly from the phone's keypad."...
Anyone know a way around this ?
ROM : 1.60.00wwe
Radio : 1.06.01
ExtROM : 1.60.21
Otherwise it's a killer product

FREE XDA

Hello all,
well it is not 100% free, you need to earn it.
The price is to allow me to downgrade the RSU to 4.16
I am unable to do this and have tried so many things so far without any success.
I have RSU 3.23 now
ROM wise, I have no problem, I can change it using the SD method and the ismgtool.
Well, I am sure you will ask, what is the guarntee? Tkae my word for it for the time being and try me.
You can send me a private message or e-mail me ([email protected])
If I receive the solution from more than person, I will look at the time I have received the pm/e-mail and the prize will go to the eriler responder.
HURRY :!:
and the winner is: to be updated

no winner yet!!
Work harder folks
You have "RSU 3.23" and want to **downgrade** to "4.16"? What am I missing :?: :?:
yeah, numbers are meaninless!
Anyway, just solve to me the issue of downgrading 3.23
Hmmm ! i guess you can't
Hello
as far i know and if my memory still works i read something which says you Can not roll back to older version and that was on the 3.23.01 release note.
HTC Advice not to try to downgrade your GSM cause you might distroy your device and lose the GSM capabilities.
also few other issues include
Fixed: SIM unlock code hacked
1. Disable memory dump function.
2. Unlock code encryption.
Fixed: Do not auto-reactivate PDP context when network reject PDP context activation
Fixed: Specific message should store in SIM without affecting the VMI
Solution: Change the DCS of specific OTA message from 0x00 to 0xf2 (Store message to SIM)
Fixed: After dail a wrong number, dail second call with correct number within 30 seconds,
this call will be established for 2 seconds, then be automatically cancelled.
Solution: ACI state is not syncronize to MMI state. Syncronize the state of ACI and MMI.
Fixed: USSD Problem
Fixed: Inter-SGSN Issue

Othman,
are you replying to a different topic? :?
What is the relation between what you have written and the downgrading issue?
Place adaptrom.exe in the up or down grade application folder.
run adaptrom, then the up or downgrade application.
This will change the rom as well as the radio stack.

you can send me the device, i can run over it with my car, get AT&T to replace it with a new one ( I have insurance from them) and BAM! start from scratch
OK, how about this:
1. Obtain the RSUpdate.exe and accompanying files for the radio stack version you want to upgrade/downgrade to.
2. Copy them to the \Windows folder on your device
3. On the device (use File Manager), run RSUpdate.exe. This will manually update the radio stack.
4. Send the free XDA to me, since a winner is me!

2JoshB: It is not so easy as you wish.
You may not downgrade 4.21 radio to 3.19 and below in this way (though it is Ok for greater versions). The restriction is by design and appears during actual uploading to radio module due to some kind of _internal_ checking.
I can suggest the following:
-convert RSUpgrade.cp64 you want to upload to binary format. Let it be 3.19 for example
-try to find 03 13 and 13 03 entries (= 3.19 in hex)
-If entries are exists -try to replace them with 04 15 or 15 04 accordingly (= 4.21 in hex).
-convert RSUpgrade.cp64 back to text
-try to flash these files in the usualj way (upload to windows etc...)
But this way is very dangerous. I mean that such a stupid replacement may corrupt radio stack code, so your radio will be broken completely.
More than that: radio stack version checking may be implemented not by number but features available in RSU. So version changes may not be enough to downgrade radio.
the more reliable way is to disassemble radio stack and bypas version checking in more sensible way. But unfortunately my qualification is not enough for doing this.

Problem on sms messaging

I can see what sms message I received, but after I click on the sms message to view it's content, it just showed a blank white screen. Just to reply and create a new text message. It also appear a blank screen.
Any idea hoe to solve the problem ?
what ROM are you using? give us details on your prophet...
This is most likely related to the CE-Star Chinese product. When it installs, it places a wince.nls file in the \Temp directory of the device, along with a registry setting under HKLM\Software\Mobem\CE-Star -- MyNLS="\Temp\wince.nls"
After some experiments, it seems that even if you want to move or rename this file, regardless of whether you update the registry setting, it is not possible to do so without affecting the messaging application. I would suspect that somewhere in some of the CE-Star logic is a hard-coded reference to that location.
Solution: If you have CE-Star installed, and are loading the NLS file via the DynaNls.lnk file in \Windows\StartUp, then ensure the registry setting (documented above) is set to "\Temp\wince.nls", and ensure that the wince.nls file installed by the CE-Star application resides in the \Temp directory.
Note: I use the trial version of this product (limited to 50 characters input). I'm not sure whether modifying these settings for the registered version will remove this hard-coded limitation. Personally, I like to only have temporary files in my \Temp folder.

Herald losing SMS settings

Hi there
I have a strange issue with my HTC Herald.
Whenever i soft-reset, the "Text Messages service center" setting is lost (Under Phone -> Services -> Voice Mail and Text Messages .
I've had this problem since i bought my Pda, and was wondering if anyone else encountered this annoyance.
If anyone knows where this setting is stored (registry or file), maybe i can find a way to make a startup script to auto-apply it on reset or something...
Btw, in case this is related to the problem, i'll post the Device Information
ROM Version: 1.8.415.2 WWE
ROM Date : 11/03/06
Radio Version: 02.71.90
Protocol Version: 4.1.13.31
ExtROM version: 1.8.415.102
Thanks!

caller id in wm6.1

Hi,
I have a HTC Touch Cruise 09. and applied the caller id solution wherein you need to change the CallIDMatch in the registry but im not sure if it works.
im from the philippines and our number format is +63 917 3232643 or 09173232643. im not sure what value to use in the value data, is it 7 or 10? pls help!
thanks!
Pao
if i use 7 as my value data.
if the number 09173232643 (without country code) is saved in my phonebook and i use the fix above, it works for some contacts but not all and if the number +639173232643 (with country code) is saved in my phonebook and use the fix above, it doesn't work! is there a permanent fix for this? if yes, how can i fix this with either number saved in my phonebook? pls. help!!! need it asap!
is there a fix for this?
is there a rom that can fix this? HELP! probably a rom based on the caller id of WM5?
caller id in wm6.1 fix
well you need to set the "HKCU\Control Panel\Phone\CalIidMatch" value to match the mobile number length without the country code but with the local code ex. 00cccXXXXX is your mobile with country code so your local number is 0XXXXX.
in the case of static_mp3 above his local number is 09173232643 so he need to set the value to 11, then he need to go to programs->contacts, then Menu->Options, then set his "Area code:" to 63

[REG] Enable SMS sent notification

Hi Friends,
Just found a Registry hack to enable SMS sent notification with HTC Messaging
Reg Path : HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Jataayu\Messaging
DWORD : DisableSMSSuccess
DWORD value : 0 --> to enable SMS sent notification
DWORD value : 1 --> to disable SMS sent notification
I have exported this entry using Resco Explorer and attached here.
This hack is working for me on T-Mobile USA HD2 with original ROM .. below are details.
OS Version : 5.2.21892 (21892.5.0.89)
Manila Version : 2.5.20121412.2
ROM Version : 2.13.531.1 (90963) WWE
Please let me know if it works for you too .. also please mention your version information too
Regards,
kekerode
It doesn't work with my ROM
1. OS Version 5.2.21899 (21889.5.0.87)
2. ROM Version 2.10.531.1 (82076) WWE
3. Manila version 2.5.20121412.1
Please advice...
From the HD2 LEO tips and tricks page at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=583638:
103. Enable Sent SMS Status Notifications
By default, you have no confirmation if an SMS has been sent or not. Now you can enable a pop up message to tell you if an SMS has been successfully sent and even if it has failed. Go to All Settings, Sounds & Notifications, Notifications tab, tap on Event and choose Message: Send failed and check Display message on screen. Next choose Message: Send succeeded and check Display message on screen. Finally you must also make the following reg tweak: HKLM\Software\Jataayu\Messaging\DisableSMSSucess change from 1 to 0.
Works great on my phone. Pop-up message is sort of wrong. You get the notification sound and icon in the taskbar. If you click it, then you get the pop-up message.
On My Device, it doesn't have Send succeeded. Only MMS Send succeeded
My Device doesn't have "Send succeeded" , only "MMS Send succeeded". Can we have sms system like on this attachment?
Because on default system, we cannot add folder on sms. Only email. Please advice. Thanx.

Mine is
1. OS Version 5.2.21899 (21889.5.0.87)
2. ROM Version 2.10.531.1 (82076) WWE
3. ROM date 02/22/10
4. Radio Version 2.08.50.08_2
5. Protocol Version 15.34.50.07U
6. Manila version 2.5.20121412.1
I thing must upgrade ROM...
Thanx,

I have another solution
it seems that if you have a cooked ROM or something like that then you have nothing inside the Jayatu folder in the reg, i have found that if you go into HKEY_CURRENT_USER/MICROSOFT/INBOX/SETTINGS/SMSNOSENTMSG change from 0 to 1 you can get that msg, now you will get a msg saying sms/mms sent, you will also find in there 2 other items, disable smsdeliveryreceipt and smsdeliverynotify, those deal with receiving a message of confirmation when the sms is received on the other end, but i found this rather annoying (I would use it but I really dont know if i will be charged for these notifications) well I hope this helps.
