Vodafone and Internet?!

Egads !!
I didn't check anything out about whether another provider would or wouldn't work until I came across this site looking for info. on how to get the xda to work connecting to the internet using activesync and the cradle.
So two question here really -
1. Will the xda work with Vodafone?
and
2. How do I configure it to connect to the internet using the cradle and Activesync?
Anyone that could help on these points I would greatly appreciate the advice

Yes. You may need to "unlock" it if your phone is "SIMlocked". There's plenty of messages on this forum describing how to do this.

Open the ActiveSync main window, 'Tools menu', 'Options', 'Rules' tab and make sure 'Pass Through connection' is set to 'The Internet', and then when your desktop is connected, all should be automagic.
FANTASTIC! Thanks for the answer to number 2
I'll let you know how I get on with number 1 when they change me over!
Well there we go !!
Unlocked the SIM straight away and the VODAFONE SIM card works perfectly !!
Thanks for help
Now I'm thinking of experimenting and installing a Special ROM ... hmm .. wonder if the SMS, GPRS and other little qwerks will effect me?!

Rather crucial information needed for helping you is missing: what seems to be the problem?

O2 XDA Trion and Blackberry Connect

Hi!
I have the possibility to get a cheap O2 XDA Trion and want to use it instead of my Blackberry 7100v.
I am not sure if I can update the O2 XDA to a HTC original Firmware and then install the BB connect from Vodafone (our companies provider).
Is this possible?
Or do I have to flash to a Vodafone Rom?
Thank you.

BB Connect only likes a gprs connection. for some reason, it does not like umts. you will need to force a gsm/edge connection to keep bb connected. I do this when I need bb connect and I enable umts to surf, etc.

Would like to try out Cingular's HSDPA(3G) on my phone, is Cingular ROM required?

Hey everyone. I've been out of contract with T-Mobile for a while now, and I'm considering moving to Cingular very soon. I have a softbank X01HT that's unlocked with WM6 ROM, my question is, do I need to flash the phone with a Cingular ROM for the HSDPA to work? What i plan to do is pass by a cingular shop and ask if I could try out their service on my phone while I'm there by using their SIM card. Would the HSDPA (3G) settings be imported from the SIM or would they already have to be on the phone? My main reason for wanting HSDPA is mainly for skype use, I have family in Philippines who I would love to stay in contact with. Any help on this is greatly appreciated, thanks.

No - you do not need a Cingular ROM. You may need to activate HSDPA on the ROM (use a Tweaker like HTweakC - which Google or forum search will help you find.) Good luck and enjoy.
I appreciate the very quick reply...currently searching for the said programs above, thanks again.
EDIT* HTweakC was already on the Black ROM i had installed, well that was easy Thanks.

Help to flash Orange branded HTC Touch 3G

Hi Guys,
Do you know of anyone or any company that could flash my Orange HTC Touch 3G (Jade) to get rid of the horrible Orange branding and therefore allow me to use the handset as a "normal" HTC and also use the wifi as I want to and not as Orange dictate!
I am afraid the option of me flashing it myself is NOT an option for me because of my particular physical disabilities so would need someone to do it for me.
I would of course be happy to post it to the person/company and be more than happy to pay for the "operation" and the return postage.
Any help from anyone would be greatly appreciated.
I am based in the UK.
EDIT - NOW SORTED - THANKYOU
