Bluetooth and gprs - Networking

I have the xda2 and am using bluetooth to connect to my pc
When I activate ActiveSync the gprs indicator pops up in the top left hand corner and the connection symbol changes. Is this Normal ?.
If I disable bluetooth then it reverts back to the normal connection

GPRS

When I make a GPRS connection it never disconnects, if I browse a web page and then close IE and all other running apps the GPRS connection stays alive. I have to either hold the red button to disconnect to soft reset, Is there any way to get to to auto disconnect after a set time or is it supposed to do this and mine is just faulty.
It also happens with MMS, I send an MMS and it sends fine, but the GPRS connection stays on. You do not see the connection listed with'in the connections list, but you do have the arrows at the top to tell you your on a GRPS connection. If I make another GPRS call to the ISP then it hangs up the MMS connection and makes the connection to the ISP etc...
There is no option with'in the connection bubble to disconnect yet I have this option on my XDA1 which was updated to PPC2003. I can manually disconnect sessions using a disconnect option. But not on my new O2 XDAII running the latest ROM from O2.
To disconet manuley just tap and hold the o2 ikon then untick your conection. as to the timeout it is in there somewhere but i carnt rember off hand
Have you tried GB-Soft Tweak? It has settings to disconnect GPRS after a specified amount of inactive time.
My problem is somewhat different: When I use GPRS settings WITHOUT a proxy assigned, there is the bubble of GPRS connecting (with cancel) and when connected (in conjunction with GB Soft Tweak), there is a disconnect button.
But when I assign a proxy setting to the GPRS, these buttons disappears. In fact EVEN if it is connected to GPRS, when I tap on the radio icon, it stays in the state displaying as not connected (meaning there's STILL an option to connect to GPRS even if i'm already connected)
the only way to disconnect is the press and hold red button OR to use the disconnect button of my GPRS monitor (SPB)
I dunno if this is connected to GB Soft Tweak, or a bug in the OS on handling the radio.

GPRS Shortcut on the top bar

Previously when I click on the GPRS icon ( square with "G" ) and it will show me the GPRS connection option for me to click and connect to GPRS. However starting WM5, I found it shows only "To connect to either the Internet or work, set up a new connection in Settings".
May I know how to get back the shortcut thing ?

conntecting to GPRS manually

Is there a way to click the "E" at the top of the screen and have a "connect" button so i could manually connect to the GPRS connection?
Thanks,
You simply can press the CONNECTION button on the top left corner of the device and click on the DATA CONNECTION icon there!
comm manager?
are you talking about going into the comm manager and clicking "data connection? If so, when GPRS is disconnected, that icon is grayed out and cannot be clicked..
Thanks,
I haven't found a way to connect manually.

Wifi/GPRS??

I hav GPRS enable on my phone and at my home i have a WiFi
So when i connect to the internet from my phone when i am at home it always connects using GPRS but i want to connect it through Wifi when i am at home...Is there any optio through which i can select as to how i want to connect to the internet i.e. either by GPRS or Wifi??
Plz help
disconnect your gprs connection just clikc on the Edge Icon on the top bar and then and disconnect the t-mobile data connection and then manually connect to wifi spot and it shouldnt connect through ur gprs until u want it to
If you have WiFi turned on, it'll automatically try to find a network it can connect you and notify you of the best connection. If it doesn't WiFi may not be on, you can check in the Comm Manager to make sure its on. If it is on, you can click the WiFi icon on the top bar and select your network.
The phone will automatically use Wifi instead of GPRS if WiFi is connected. If it tries to connect through GPRS it is either because WiFi is disabled or WiFi isn't connected to a network.
