Since New ROM 1.06 CALLER ID did not show pictures ?? HELP

Since New ROM 1.06 CALLER ID did not show pictures anymore ???
nore affected rings, same things ???
If you do a preview on CALLED ID when you affect a picture to a CALLER, the picture and the special ring will show and play
but after you close everything, and you ask the person to call you in order to verified, no pictures SHOW??
I did try several friends and all the same ??
Is that because I have a new version of caller ID 1.20 (build 18586 )

OK I found the solution (myself)
Finally I browsed to IA caller Options from the main menu, then selected General. In the General screen, disabled (un-check) the Display Photo During Incoming or Waiting Call checkbox, selected Done to make it effective. Then, I repeated the same steps to enable (check) the Display photo During Incoming or Waiting call checkbox.
Since then I got a few calls with template displayed again.
Hope it helps others.

I was also looking on how to disable IE CALLER (in order to install a substitute CALLER ID program)
here is how to do this :
Instructions for disabling IA Caller ID
(IA Caller ID is NOT Photo Contacts !!!):
Option #1
1. Open IA Caller ID
2. Press Menu>Options>General and un-check the "Display photo during incoming or waiting call" box.
Option #2
1. Open File Explorer on your Pocket PC
3. Browse to \Windows\StartUp\
4. Delete (or move) "IA_CID_Startup.exe"
5. Soft-reset the phone (turn-off, turn-on).

Thanks bruxelles5... I've been looking all over for a possible fix to the IA_Caller problem. I will try it on my MDA2 and see if it works...

Does it use its own Caller ID software? I liked PocketX Photo Contscts because it has its own Caller ID module that replaces one we have in JAM. But I did not like the rest the programm does If they could do just Caller ID + assign pictures and ringtones I'd buy it.

Tried Sygic and didn't like it. I want to set my own pictures for incoming calls, not cartoons.

I recommend you stick with the current, ID caller. what wrong with it? why do you want to change?

I stopped using the CallerID app all together. All it does is put a pic on the screen for whos calling. When I reset my Mini, I softreset immediately to stop installing the stuff from the Extended ROM. I didn't reinstall it because:
1. Doesn't really do anything worthwhile.
2. TAKES UP 2Mb for what????

the problem with ID caller , is the ringtone , sometime , for the incomming call the ringtone was is the MP3 assigned , and sometime the default ringtone !
FYI i put the short MP ( 25 scd ) on /windows
and the problem persist

hmm, you want to see bigger picture for outgoing calls. I am using E-TEN M600 dialer skin installed in my Wizard. do a search. you will find in this forum

Is there a way to assign a photo to an incoming call that is either withheld, unknown or found in phone book as done with the IA contact dialer provided with the XDA IIs?

Look in your contacts, second line when editing or making new contact. A bit further you can select ringtone. Works much better than IA dialer.

I think what Hennyb means a common photo or picture can be assign for those not in the contact list like what Caller ID used in XDA IIs.

That is correct. I am using Photo Contact Pro now which lets me change the No_Photo.gif and caller_ID.Gif in the program directory, to a picture of my choosing so all incoming calls without a photo assigned display this picture. Also, an incoming call, displays the name in a larger font so I can read it without glasses.
Honestly still prefer IA Photo Contacts that came with the XDA IIs.

Hi, is there anyway we could change the incoming call display on hermes(mine is Tytn) ?
I wanna see a bigger caller's pic or like on my previous phone, I could use gif(animation) as the pictures ID. So when that person calls me I could see he's like waiving at me (animated).

That would be pretty cool, my p900 had a massive caller display, my MDA Vario and MDA Vario 2 were a disappointment in comparison

try photo contacts pro. It allows fullscreen caller id pics
