Hello,
I recently upgraded my rom to 2003 using the rom kitchen. Its been performing brilliantly. However, I recently tried to run xmail (xmail.02.co.uk) - this program allows me to sync my work emails to my device via GPRS.
Unfortunately, it no longer works. Does anyone know how to manually set it up so that it can work again... Please help

This is driving me nuts. My PDA was running slow so I tried installing the Ruu Wizard 2.17 ROM. It installed, everything seemed fine but I could not Sync with AcitveSync. In fact it will not even recognize the mobile device. It sets it up as a Windows Network ( but I can't access the PDA). I've tried hard resets and reinstalling ActiveSync with no luck. ActiveSync says it cannot detect it. This problem is keeping me from reinstalling the original ROM. Does anyone know how to get AcitveSync to work on this thing? Or can I somehow reinstall the old ROM without AcitveSync? Thanks in advance.
Jason
Sounds like you are using activesync 4,
try upgrading to Activesync 4.1 (avaliable on Microsofts website)
this should fix your problem
Cheers
Steve
I checked and I am using 4.1, still no go. Are there any other Sync programs out there?
Jason
Hello Everyone
I am quite new to my MDA Vario which is on UK T-mobile, I decided to do a ROM update, to see if the following could be improved:
Signal
Voice Calls
Any other improvements.
First of all, I got the Qtek 9100 update, it was after I installed it that I realised that I needed an imate version, I didn’t remove the Qtek ROM update, but what I done was to install the Imate Rom update.
This was done yesterday and ever since Active Synch doesn’t work on my home Pc, it doesn’t seem to detect that the phone is connected to the computer, whereas it works fine on my laptop, and also on my Pc at work.
Can anyone advice me on what to do, home PC is where I really need to synch.
Other info: MDA Vario Phone
ROM update installed: K-JAM_WWE_216901_2169101_020710_ship.zip
Active Sync version: version 4.1 latest build used on Home PE, laptop and work PC
Thanks in advance
The only thing I can suggest it to try the old windows standard 'fix all' solution.... uninstall and re-install active-sync from your home PC.
Hello, my friends!!
I've a problem and i'm hopping you can help me resolve it!!
Today i installed in my pc the new activesync 4.5, but i0m unable to make a connection between my S200 and the pc!! It just isn't recognized by the pc and it does'n syncronize!!!
Can anybody please help me??
Thanks in adcvance!!!
Ensure your network to the phone is not firewalled. In ZoneAlarm you have to change the phone network to "Trusted" zone.

Install this and try RDNIS or Serial
Hello and thanks a lot for the solutions you posted, but i have another problem!!!
When i try to install this software you gave me, my ppc simply refuses it because it says tha there is no digital signature on the program!!
Can anyone help me install this software??
Is there any way to overrunn this error message??
Thank you!!
@vijjay
I even tryed to connect it with the firewall disabeled, but i still can´t connect the ppc to activesync!!
Any other ideas??
Its weird, but usually any PPC can accept that software, tried it before with my Himalaya, Wizard and now my Prophet and all i did was install it and begin to use..
However, that error message usually happens when you have an Application Unlocked device, you can try to de-cert it first...it is really weird as i know, it only does happen with Smartphones..
Hello
This may appear crazy, but it worked for me unintentionally of course. I had given up on being able to sync via Activesync and was looking for a solution to backup my contacts before hard resetting my phone.
I had a permanent 'Synchronization Error', I just tried a piece of software posted here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=63479
This software is designed to backup contacts, but when I ran it FIXED my 'Synchronization Error', I don't know how or why, but my phone is now working with Activesync, maybe it will fix your problem too.
It won’t do any harm to try it, as all it does is create a backup of contacts.
After intensive reading of this site (compliments!!!), I decided to take the risk and replace the old PPC 2002 ROM version (3.12.07 ENG) to ROMkitchens' WM 2003 SE (3.04.00 ENG) on my XDA1. The upgrading process was without complications and after a full reset (Wallaby bootloader V.5.15 was shown) I happily started with the standard installation procedure.
Unfortunately, replacing the XDA in the cradle didn't realise a connection between the XDA and the PC. ActiveSync version is 4.2, USB as connection is enabled. So, e.g. a synchronisation with Office is not established, nor is it possible to install other programs like TomTom.
Is it possible that there are compatibility issues or just wrong settings????
Any help is greatly appreciated (also via PM). I'am looking forward to be able to use my device again!

If I try to start now, it dosen't work anymore.
It seems, some components are missing.
What can I do?
Thanks,

Symantec pcAnywhere mobile install on HTC Touch HD
Hi!
I have the same problem.
When I first install pcanywhere 12.5, it works fine, but in the first time I soft reset, it stops running.
After that, I have uninstalled and try to install again, so it give me this message:
‘Installation was unsuccessful. The program or setting cannot be installed because it does not have sufficient system permissions.’
The interest thing is that I have a Samsung Omnia with windows mobile 6.1 too, and works without any problem. I can soft reset and it still working.
The bad news is that I have contacted Symantec Support and they don't know what is happening. I start in the beginning of this month my first contact and four attendant try connecting with my pc, staying 3 hours and still have no solution for this problem.
They say that will contact me, but I’m still waiting.
If anybody knows how to resolve, please tell me. If I find the solution, I’ll put it here.
Thanks for everybody.
I have been using PCAnywhere for months with no problems after many soft resets.

I'm having the same problem. I'm using NFSFAN's custom ROM on my HTC Touch. Only on his later 2 versions does this problem occur. I believe he got the ROM build from the Omnia....
So, the problem could be some kind of conflict between the program and these newest builds of WM 6.1.
Damn....
I have the same problem with rom 1.56 ITA . with the previous version everything was ok even after softreset. with the new one I find the described error during install
htc touchpro2 pcanywhere solution
i have installed pcanywhere 12.5 on my htc touchpro 2 and it worked great until i soft reset it (powered down and up again) and i get the same problem. wont run and wont reinstall. so i threw pcanywhere 11.5 in the ol' cd rom and just installed the moble onto my phone and it works just fine. i still have 12.5 installed on both my machines and the mobile 11.5 connects to my xp box great. not sure about vista or win7. try that guys. hope it works!
This worked for my Touch Pro 2
I found this fix somewhere (don't remember where).
But if you rename
MFC80***.DLL to MFC80***.dll
there are a few of these files in the Windows directory.
I used resco explorer and hit rename and it automatically made the .DLL to lowerecase .dll and voila, pcAnywhere mobile worked.
You may have to do a fresh, new install and then do the rename before a reboot.
I hope this works for you.
(windows directory of the phone)
