It seems to not work well together. I can't even get it installed or if it installs then it doesn't open at all. I had it installed for a couple of days then stopped working. Crazy.
It works great for me under WM2003!
Try deleting it then do a fresh install also make sure you're using the latest version?
Note: Prior to reinstall use File Explore to look around in both main memory & storage card to make sure every reference of it has been removed.
HTH
That's what I ened up doing...
It turned out that the problem was with my SD card. For some reason it was showing that it was full when there was over 230MB free on it. I had to reformat the disk.
Anyway, all is well now...

Hey all,
I've searched through this as much as I could, and found a few things, but nothing that's ident.
My problem occurs even after a clean hard reset, and has only happened since the latest ROM update, so if anyone else has it please can you say if you get this problem... or don't...
Basically, my T-Mobile Pro will work fine for a while, but then I go to it any time after 10 mins of being clammed, and with virtually everything I try to load it comes up with an error dialog saying:
"The file 'X' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of tis components cannot be found. You might need to reinstall or restore this file."
But this is with EVERYTHING, HTCMesages.exe, HTCCalender.exe, Contacts.exe, TomTom Navigator.exe...... EVERYTHING, ARGH!
The only way to sort it is soft reset, and then everythings okay, for a while anyway... till all of a sudden.....
The only things I've got on apart from the standard T-Mobile ROM is TomTom Navigator 5.21 and PocketBreeze 5. But I'm sure it's nowt to do with either of those...
Please someone, anyone,,, HELP :-/
ARGH! Just after I posted before I hard reset and got it going again.... until now....
1st: Do you use a SD Card? If YES, does the file you try to open in the SD card. Try using a different SD card and see if you still get the same Error Message.
2nd: Do you use WM5torage or Softick's SD Card reader? If YES to either of them, you might have set them on "ACTIVATE" mode then of course you will get the Error message if you try to launch any application on the card while using any of them because you gave the control to your computer to read the card instead. The solution is to keep then on INACTIVE state while using the apps or install them in the Internal Memory rather than the card.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for your reply, but unfortunately it's not the SD Card, its core windows mobile applications aswell, like the contacts and messags.
I think it might have been to do with the ROM I was using, I was using T-Mobile's latest (still pretty jurassic though) but switched to the iMate one, and no problems now :-D
Surprised if it is the ROM though, as thought others would have got the error :-/
Here is the solution. I have a Samsung mobile phone and got this error after I installed Samsung's standard multimedia player "Touch Player" into My storage. Then I uninstalled it and re-installed into main storage and it works now.
Is there any way I can make Windows detect or recognize programs on the storage card after a rom update? without having to reinstall them again..?
thanks!
of course you cant, you have to install them once again.
depends, if it will run from the storage card simply make new shortcuts, depends how many u have to do and how easy to hand the cab files are i guess
i usually keep all my cab files in a "cabs" folder on my sd card incase i need to redo my phone if i'm away from my pc. it helps if i'm at work and it starts acting up.
It also might not be a bad idea to keep a backup of your wizard on the sd card with just the programs (and if you havean exchange server) already installed on it, that way a quick, fresh start doesn't involve a lot of work.

Any program on the storage card will run after the ROM update as long as it is not one that needs to write registry changes or dll's to the registry itself.
I have approximately 50 apps installed to my storage card. After doing a ROM flash/upgrade, I only have to reinstall around 10 of them. You'll just need to try launching each one from the card to see if it will work without reinstalling to find out which ones will work and which ones won't.
well i wanted to know because i just recently upgraded to nbd 7.0 and some programs i want isnt detecting in htc home plugin...
Well let me just say this site is really fab! I have learnt so much from viewing on here.. thatnks
Being the absolute plonker I am , I did a hard set , taking my sd card out, thinking that would save my tomtom and sat nav but alas it has gone! the maps and files are still all on my card. BUt on the mini it has gone. is there any apps that will make it work again?
well just to catch u up to speed..... upon reflection.. when I look on the sd card all the stuff is still there. app, maps, license, ...... it is just not in the program list on my mini.. how can I get it back to there?thanks
qhen u first installed it, did u install to ur sd card, or to ur phone? If u installed to ur phone, then u cant get it back, if u installed to ur sd, den maybe only da shortcut is missing. Try opening the tomtom file somewhere in ur sd (most likely a file ending in .exe), and maybe it'll work.
when I first installed it i did so to the sd card. I have tried the app in the sd storage and it starts then shuts down. I must have erased a link to it from the phone.. or a driver..
at least I know it is still there. just need to figure out how to get the program into the phone somehow.. any suggestions?
Not dealt with TomTom, but as you have maps and license already, maybe this thread will help.
Backup your card as it is and then follow this thread. I know its for a different phone but the base WM is the same.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=338469
the app itself is erased, no matter whereto you install it, some files are always written to your internal memory (to the windows directory). so you have to reinstall the app again!!!! just run the cabfile in folder 2577 again
Yep! that will do. (unless you have deleted it cause it bugged you everytime you reset your phone) DOH! Smiles.
I have done it!!!
i went into the 2577 on my card and reinstalled the cab to the device..
fab!!
I love it when things go right.. that and I am a stubborn ass and would have spents endless nights getting it to work... ahhhhhhh.. thanks to you all...xxx
heloo folks. does the tomtom that could be use on the wizard hace realtime navigation, i mean while driving will i see that icon that represents my local moving on the map?
I am having some trouble with my 4gb card in my XV6800. I have had it since January and been happily adding things to it and deleting them at will. Now I am having a problem with it however. I can add things to it through My Computer etc on windows and it shows up fine. But after a few hours when I go back into it on File Explorer on the phone any changes I have made are not in effect.
This includes both things that I added that are not there, and things that I have deleted that re-appear. Any ideas? It is not helping my wanting to install cabs and set up my UC config as you can imagine.
I know that they are transferring at some point because I m,anaged to install a cab from there last night, this morning, the original cab and folder is gone.
I'd suggest backing up everything currently on the card first, then formatting it using a card reader. Once the format completes, restore your files and see if your problems still exist.
P.S. Any microsd card <= 2gb will work for flashing. Anything > 2gb won't.

I agree with this... backup your storage card, and format it using software on your device such as CNETX FlashFormat... that seemed to do the trick when I was having issues related to the Storage Card
I was getting the error" file protected". I did lots of research, tried to format it in both my phone and laptop to no avail. I used diffrent software, nothing gave. Some people claim that putting clear tape on the SD adapter lock did the trick for them. Anyway, I contacted SD as my last resort, got an RMA and now I am awaiting a replacement. I did a back up and transferred all to 1 GB that I had as a back up.
FYI
I used SD Formatter V2.O and Hard disk Wipe tool (hddguru.com) , Format claimed to be successful but data was always there. This started after I installed TOMTOM maps on the card. Good luck man
there is a cab to enable sd cards over 2GB for the titan
i suggest some searching, if i come across it ill post the link
I have Tom Tom on my card, but then I have done from the start and I have only had the problems pretty recently. My computer wont read the card in the built in card reader in my computer, but it reads the new 1gb one fine.
Also, the phone does recognize it because I can play music off it, I just cannot add files to it or delete from it.
I have tried to format it with CNETX FlashFormat and it doesn't seem to work, everything is still on there as before.
Very annoying, I am going to contact SanDisk
Good idea man, it sounds like you have the same prob I do. Try putting tape on the protection switch on the adapter. It didn't work for me but who knows!
Hi there,
On my old HTC Diamond I installed everything to phone memory and so when I flashed it I just reinstalled all my apps. However, this time I have installed a large amount of them to the storage card. I don't remember my Diamond's storage card being flashed - so thats not the issue (I will probably remove the card before doing it anyway) - but my question is will my phone still see the installed apps on the memory card and put them in the start menu etc? Or will I be better off just uninstalling everything and re-doing it from scratch?
Also, is the new HTC Rom available in the UK yet?
bump?
surely someone can tell me

Check your HTC site in the UK to answer your own question.
Perhaps you should read more about how a flash works before you try with your HD2. Think of it this way: You have two hard disks in your computer, C and D. With Windows XP on C you installed all your programs on D. Then you decided to install Windows 7 on drive C, which copied over your XP. Do you think that Windows 7 will run the programs in D? The answer is obviously no.
The situation is similar when you flash a new ROM. With a file manager you could see the programs on your storage card, but that is all. You would have to reinstall all the programs for them to work.
Take care and understand everything you really need to know before you do decide to flash.
