GPRS CSD Line Type - Networking

I have flashed my Australian O2 XDA with WM2003 4.00.10 and RSU 4.21. I am with Optus and have been able to connect with GPRS (all be it slow but tolerable, bearly) but I have noticed that the CDS line type setting only has 4 settings, all of which are 9600 bps. Shouldn't this be higher? If so how do I get it higher?
Thanks for any help.

Update...
Just looked thru the ROM updates section and noticed there is now an Asian RSU 4.21 (07/30/2003)
Can I flash over the 4.21 version I have? I can't remember where I got this non asian RSU4.21 from.

ROM 4.00.01 and DualBandGSM ?

I have just ugraded my Qtek ROM to vers. 4.00.01 (pocketPC2003) and the RSU4.21.
BUT since then I cannot see my mobile carrier anymore Orange CH (switzerland), but all the others...
Could that come from the new soft not supporting dualbandGSM 1800 ?? or naything else.
Thanks for you help !!!!
PS CAN I DOWNGRADE MY ROM TO 3.17 FROM THE O2 web site??
i believe that the current 4.00.01 is with the US radiostack
leaving your phone at 900/1900 and not 900/1800 which is the EU std
European XDA/MDA with Radio Update
Same here in Germany. First I upgraded my TMO (Germany) MDA to ROM 4.00.10 without the radio upgrade. It worked (and still works ) very well with the old (by only supported :? ) radio V3.23.00 protocol 32S54. The only thing I noticed is: the carrier (T-Mobile Germany) is not displayed (in the Today screen) and the connection bar graph is changing very often from "good" to "worse".
After this success I upgraded also the radio unit, but I better have not done that! No (neither 900 or 1800) carrier is detected by the phone anymore I tried a lot in the bootloader but nothing helped me
So I downgraded the radio to 3.23.00 with the RSU utility which is downloadable from TMO Germany. And everything is okay again

Radio Stack 3.17 FR
Seems the same problem... but luky you are, as I don't have the older RSU available...
Does anybody know where I could find the RSU 3.16 or 3.17 FR ??
Thanks in advance,
I don't know if it works but why aren't you flashing the RSU with the one from the english o2.co.uk site ore the german one? Isn't there a support page for your french xda? (From witch provider was the xda sold? AFAIK orange has its own new SPV)
The English rsu seems to be ver 4.21 and is located here http://www.o2.co.uk/personal/xda/docs/Radio_Stack_Upgrade_v421.zip
The German RSU is also V4.21 but I don't have a direct link. Just click http://www.o2online.de/o2/business/datenloesungen/xda/downloads/index.html and go ahead.
The RUU seems to have the version 3.17 (UK) or 3.19 (Germany)
Look here http://xda-developers.com/rom/ RSU-> the "Phone BIOS" and RUU->"The PDA sw" So I think the RSU is not written in a specific language but only for a special region (US and Europe). But the RUU is.
HTH, Chris
problem solved
I actually could solve the problem by going in the bootloader and switch to DualBand GSM 900/1800. BUT then you CANNOT go in the BAND menu or it automatically switch you back into 900 ...

Radio problems with 4.00.10 ROM

Ever since i've updated my rom to the T-mobile 4.00.10 the radio part has been acting weird...
I encounter poor reception (not all the time) and when it gives a 'no service' message, i need te reset a few times to get signal again...
I have a Dutch XDA witch radio 4.21
Does anyone have the same problem?
Yes, I do.
Try to unsubscribe GPRS service with your provider. It makes my rsu 4.21 rock-solid.
I found that last RSU version was able to work with GPRS service from my provider is 3.??.
Unfortunately nobody success in downgrading RSU to this old version.

Looking for ROM & Radio versions for Qtek speed improvem

I have 2 versions of the XDA / Qtek 1010:
* O2 XDA pilot unit with ROM version 3.12.07 and Radio version 4.06
* Qtek1010 commercial unit with ROM version 3.18.04 ENG and Radio version 3.25.01
O2 XDA provides good response time but not the Qtek1010 which is more recent.
I have downloaded official release from O2 site of ROM version and Radio version 4.06 onto my Qtek1010, but it does not improve the performance.
1) How can I download ROM version 3.12.07 and Radio version 4.06 onto my Qtek1010 ?
2) Are there special hidden settings/instructions on XDA Radio version 4.21 or on Qtek1010 Radio version 3.25.01 to improve response time?[/list]
what do you mean by performance ? ... is it the Windows response or signal strength or GPRS speed or ..... what ???
BTW, Qtek ROM 3.18 + RSU 3.25 is the best and the most stable PPC2002 setup ... but depends on which area and operator you are dealing with.
Thanks for your reply.
By response time performance I mean the time it takes to display a new page (example: around 25 secs on Qtek and 14 secs on XDA).
I am in France and I used 2 different Tel providers, it did not make any difference.
Note: there is a mistake in my initial question: I downloaded from O2 site Radio version 4.21 (not 4.06) on my Qtek, and I am looking for how to doawnload 4.06.
Hi ...
Up to my information Qtek R3.25 was made for Asian networks but it works out side as well. The O2 R4.21 is the best for Europe and it works in the Middle East as well. So, it's what is the best fit to your provider.
Also, you may check your GPRS setting with your provider and you can compare the speeds by accessing this page www.texan.net/speed.htm from your XDA.
Good luck ...

hhhmmm page ?
do you mean a new page in a word doc ?
or a internet page as in WWW?
if it's word then it sounds like an os issue
if it's www then it's a ISP / RSU issue most likely
if it's WWW then i'm sure you could find some pages or programs to measure the speed of your GPRS

O2 UK 4.21 radio

Hi all,
does anyone know hich version of the radio stack is really in the 4.21 upgrade from O2 UK? And should it work on a Qtek in Sweden?
Thanx
/b
It should work as long as your provider uses 900/1800, but unless you are having problems I wouldnt bother changing the stack because there is no downgrade from there.

2003se, final and GSM900|1800

Sorri for bad english.. i`m Russan.
I have T-Mobile MDA 1 32mb. PPC2002
Have ROM (on kitchen) 4.01.16
Radio 310.
I see "Settings" - "Phone" - "Band" GSM 900 (Europe) and GSM 1900 (North America).
My GSM operator work 900|1800. How to switch it?
The second question. It is impossible to establish 2003SE.
.exe not working. Error USB connect. How?
xda2's which the imate is support 900/1800/1900
xda1 comes in 2 versions one which is 900/1800 for eu
and one which is 900/1900 for us
there is no way i know of to change an xda1
I've to correct Rudgear a bit....
ROM 4.01.16 sets in most cases the band to 900/1900. If you got a PW10A modell (check rear side of your device) you have to set it back to 900/1800 via Bootloader
Instructiony could be found here:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=ChangingBandsWithBootloader
Pay Attention: Entering Bootloader is just like doing a hard reset, so don't forget to backup your data.....
Concernig your problem about Upgrade to WM2003SE. A mentiond 1000 times here in the forum, this causes from the t-mobile ROM installed on your device. You have to downgrade the ROM first to a "normal" ROM (like the special edition ROM) via SD-Card, and then you can upgrade via exe file to WM2003SE
