the version of the [rom] is 3.02.00.
the telephone not function for the block "SIMLOCK" and I could not decontrol it for the old ROM version.

If you upgrade your device to the XDA Developers Special Edition ROM version 1.2, your simlock can be removed.
Read as much as you can on the forum and elsewhere about upgrading your ROM. It can be a tricky process, but if you know what you're doing, you should be safe.

Hello i just upgraded my QTEK from ROM Version 3.14.06 ENG to ROM Version 3.16.13 ENG and from Radio Version T313 to Radio Version 3.19.01. Everything worked fine and the ROM and the RSU were upgraded with success but idnt find any deffrence the device is still the same as for the GPRS i was hopping that when the device goes to standby it wont disconnect. Any idea what are the changes in the new ROM i have installed and the bugs that were fixed. If there is new ROM updates then the one i got from qtek.dk where are theyand will they work on my QTEK 1010 32MB.

I expect people who buy this device to have a certain amount of IQ. Everybody knows flashing them IS dangerous, so they should know as much as possible on the item.
Before I flashed the device for the first time, I've already read EVERYTHING which is in the ROM Upgrade forum and everything which mentions ROM on this site. I knew which is the best, I knew where to get it, I knew I can screw it up and I knew how to NOT screw it.
It's peoples fault if they brick their units.
i dont know where to start with this but i should agree with Zviratko 100%
we expect people who buy this devices to have a certain amount of IQ and knowledge most of us here are pros.
Please understand that if you dont know what you are dealing with dont bother doing it. Read all the forums and pages of Xda-developers they contain the biggest archives about those products, learn then apply.

The ROM upgrade in the kitchen will not dammage the phone part of your Qtech 1010, but it my prevent your Qtech to start if the upgrade process goes wrong.
I have 3 points to your questions as I was having this kind of principle questions 4-6 weeks ago.
1. This forum states all over the place that there are risks associated with upgrade, as with any PC's in the old days! This is especially the case with RUU update more than the PDA side of it.
My personal finding are: Mistakes come from people who did not read enough on this forum :roll: , people who did not apply the basic principles of backing up there original RUU and ROM prior to running the upgrade :evil: .
My recommendation is play as much as you want with your ROM, Do not touch the RUU unless you feel you really need it.
2. Although XDATOOLS allows you to make upgrade without going through the SD CARD and BOOT LOADER, I recommend you to make the investment of an extra SD card (one for the backup, one for loading the new rom) + a USB read+write device.
This is a recommendation that you will find all around the place in this forum.
Try searching with: SD CARDS or BOOTLOADER
3. Same as Biso007, why go the Special Rom Edition which is quite limited compared to the flexibility of a own made kitchen ROM. (If the difference is not all crystal clear to you, it is very surely an indicator that you have not yet build up sufficient knowledge about this general topics to clear you from any possible problem when upgrading.

I have just baught a HERMES (SPV M3100). Orange has set it up so I cannot use many websites (googlemaps etc). What do I need to de-orange it?
Also - can I get a new active sync? (the one that came with it doesnt sync contacts and doesnt sync with microsoft outlook).
I think maybe I need to Cook or flash my HERMES?
Sorry that these are basic questions. I have read the Wiki, but am no familiar with al the terms.

So to unlock a device I need to Flash HardSPL which is a modified bootloader ? (have I got these terms correct)?
If I stop after the flash Hard SPL stge will I have the same device as before, unlocked?

I would advise you to first of all carefully read the 'stickies' in the Wizard forum (including the rules on posting).
Your device:
You must determine whether your device is G3/G4 by checking your IPL/SPL.
You need to establish whether you device is CID unlocked.
Once you have done that that you can then decide how your are going to change the ROM. If you have a G3 you can CID unlock it very easily with information and tools on this forum. If it's a G4 you will most likely have to use Shell Tools.
You should ahve no problem finding an English ROM. You may even consider putting windows mobile 6 on it. There are many links to many different ROMs on this forum . . . but most importantly understand that you must read very, very carefully all of the instructions at your disposal, else you may end up with a bricked (broken) device. No one else will take reponsibility for your device, so make sure you know as much as possible before you attempt to try anything which will invalidate your warranty, or kill your device!
The tools to do what I have described above, and the information to do so, is available within the stickies on the Wizard forum. If you are stuck use the search button at the top of the screen - if you right click it and open it in another window you will get advanced search which will allow you to specify your search in a certain Wizard forum.

I updated my OS to 6.1 - Final Final Angel a week back. Then I updated the radio rom to 2.71.11 (check my signature for details).
I would strongly recommend you -
1. Use this link to re-flash your OS. Follow it step by step. Do not miss even a single step.

Please remember that you would need to do this small step everytime you want to do some upgrading because this is temporary. For eg. I did it once when upgrading OS and then again when upgrading Radio ROM.

I've been recommended this OS bya lot of Gurus and personally I feel that it runs great given the outdated (read ARM 195MHz CPU) hardware that I have.
