Please Recommend Update for qtek 1010

Hi guys.
Can any one help me on my decision on upgrading my Qtek 1010 to the special Edition ROM 1.2 found in this site? I just want to know if it will not destroy my Phone. Here are the details:
ROM VER: 3.14.06 ENG
ROM DATE: 10/01/02
RADIO VER: T313
PROTOCOL VER: 32S54
NETWORK LOCK : GLOBE TELECOM

SER 1.2 is perfect for unlocking, but if your device is already unlocked why don't you go to a WM2003 ROM ?

The ROM upgrade in the kitchen will not dammage the phone part of your Qtech 1010, but it my prevent your Qtech to start if the upgrade process goes wrong.
I have 3 points to your questions as I was having this kind of principle questions 4-6 weeks ago.
1. This forum states all over the place that there are risks associated with upgrade, as with any PC's in the old days! This is especially the case with RUU update more than the PDA side of it.
My personal finding are: Mistakes come from people who did not read enough on this forum :roll: , people who did not apply the basic principles of backing up there original RUU and ROM prior to running the upgrade :evil: .
My recommendation is play as much as you want with your ROM, Do not touch the RUU unless you feel you really need it.
2. Although XDATOOLS allows you to make upgrade without going through the SD CARD and BOOT LOADER, I recommend you to make the investment of an extra SD card (one for the backup, one for loading the new rom) + a USB read+write device.
This is a recommendation that you will find all around the place in this forum.
Try searching with: SD CARDS or BOOTLOADER
3. Same as Biso007, why go the Special Rom Edition which is quite limited compared to the flexibility of a own made kitchen ROM. (If the difference is not all crystal clear to you, it is very surely an indicator that you have not yet build up sufficient knowledge about this general topics to clear you from any possible problem when upgrading.

My MDA has T-Mobile rom 2.26 and wont unlock please help???

Hey guys,
The newbie with too much time here...(again) , I got a few questions due to a prob i'm havin. i Just bought a T-Mobile MDA from eBay for my wife and need to unlock it for cingular. i followed the procedure as I did with my 8125 however it won't give. i repeated the steps to ensure i did it just as advised and the result was the same. Upon looking over everything in frustration i realized that it had already been loaded with T-Mobile ROM ver. 2.26 . So my questions basically are as follows:
(1) does the fact that it's got a more updated rom mean i need a newer version of lokiwiz than 02?
(2) what the frig do i do to get this bugger to where i can go back the "simple" process of unlocking and loading the new titanium rom?
and finally...
(3) If i am doing something wrong can someone guide me in the right direction with a few "parently words of advice" for my new adventure?
Any help would be greatly appreciated

I goofed i overlooked a earlier post that showed that the rom can me CID unlocked by unlicking the SIMlock with the new LOkiwiz3 then downgrading to an older Standard rom then running the old Lokiwiz2 then ur free to load whatever floats ur boat(as long as you remember there is still the possibility to "Brick" ur device, so take care). I would advise you to first of all carefully read the 'stickies' in the Wizard forum (including the rules on posting).
Your device:
You must determine whether your device is G3/G4 by checking your IPL/SPL.
You need to establish whether you device is CID unlocked.
Once you have done that that you can then decide how your are going to change the ROM. If you have a G3 you can CID unlock it very easily with information and tools on this forum. If it's a G4 you will most likely have to use Shell Tools.
You should ahve no problem finding an English ROM. You may even consider putting windows mobile 6 on it. There are many links to many different ROMs on this forum . . . but most importantly understand that you must read very, very carefully all of the instructions at your disposal, else you may end up with a bricked (broken) device. No one else will take reponsibility for your device, so make sure you know as much as possible before you attempt to try anything which will invalidate your warranty, or kill your device!
The tools to do what I have described above, and the information to do so, is available within the stickies on the Wizard forum. If you are stuck use the search button at the top of the screen - if you right click it and open it in another window you will get advanced search which will allow you to specify your search in a certain Wizard forum.

i could not endure the OS WM5. any one tell me how to upgrade to wm6.
my devices is dopod c800, could upgrade it through unlock the cid?

check one of the many posts in the Herald Mobile 6 forum. The upgrade does not require your phone to be cid unlocked. Execute aserg's policies on your phone (should come with any of the roms you download) then run upgrade_rom.bat. Its that simple. Here are a few links for roms that are currently out.

Aslong as your phone is WWE you should have no problem updating as there is a RUU for your phone which will restore your phone to its original state should you encounter any problems during the upgrade. Please read the threads carefully (the entire Herald forum while your at it) because having common knowledge of your device can save you much time and hassle in the future; plus you will discover the much needed configs such as page pool changer.

Unbricking a MDA Compact III

Hello everyone, I tried to flash the ROM of my phone because is seemed CID locked /would not upgrade to W6/. Either do I followed all the steps very carefully, I ended up with a bricked device. It shows the operator logo /T-mobile/ and then a white screen. Unsucsesfully tries to connect to Active Sinc /connection shows limited or no conectivity/.
I understand that you are tired to teach stupid newbies like me, but I would be very grateful if you once again take some of your time to explain how to bring back from deadland my phone.
I have tried to follow the instructions in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=327203, but on step #8 it says that there is no devices to build ROM.
Excuse me if I wrote a lot of stupid things!

It turns out that I will have to install the original ROM. Can anyone help me find original ROM - T-mobile MDA Compact III, OS 3.4.0.0, IPL 1.13.0001, SPL 1.13.0000
