Inserting country specific registry settings into the device - MDA, XDA, 1010 Software Upgrading

Newbie question - thanks for hearing me out. Bought an Asian XDA 12 months ago, but live in Belgium and would like to include the Proxmius settings I found on the "xda-developers.com/incoming" folder into my device so as not to have to set up all the connections etc myself.
Can this be done "pre-kitchen" or after having used one of Jeff's cool kitchen recipes? Could I simply copy/paste all the keys into a XDA registry file? If so, what file is it?
If not, what can I do?
Proximus autoconfig settings were included in specia edition, unfortunately not in kitchen....
Thanks for any help!
Phil

i love you developer guys :)

hi ppl!
i just passed by to say a BIG THANK YOU.
now i have something else to play around with. *gg*
but to stay serious:
i just flashed my T-Mobile MDA from austria, and am now looking for a way to include auto config for GPRS ect for T-Mobile Austria.
any ideas? sorry i didn't read ALL the topics in every forum so maybe i missed it.
kind regards,
izeman
Download the 'mkrom' set of files and look in the operator directory. Create a working setup, extract the registry keys listed in the file for one of the other operators and put those in a file in the same way.
Adapt the (binary) operator index file and recompile the ROM.
We hope to make this easier in future, and we're working on some mass-import from a list of providers and settings we've got.
thanks for the speedy reply....
can i send my changes somewhere so they can be included in future versions? (to make things easier for those who might follow)
regards izeman

Yes please. This goes for everyone: If you make AutoConfig work for your operator, we'll include the provider registry settings in our next ROM.

XDA O2 Mini S - keyboard problems

Hello all, newbie here. I bought a new XDA O2 Mini S on eBay (eBay item number 5837326300), and I just got it. Phone and internet works great with my Cingular GSM/GPRS service here the US...however, the keyboard mapping is messed up. The auction listing said it was a QWERTZ (whatever that is) keyboard and I believe it has an i-Mate ROM. My Z and Y are reversed and several shift+ inputs do not match what is on the keyboard. Here is the info from my device:
Model No.: WIZA200
Windows Mobile 5.0 (build 14402.1.1.0)
ROM version: 1.1.93
ROM date: 9/16/05
Radio version: 01.01.10
Protocol version: 4.0.13.16
ExtROM version: 1.1.9.106
Can someone please tell me how to get the keyboard to match the inputs listed on the keys? Sorry if this thread already exists somewhere...I couldn't find any relevant posts via forum search. Could someone also tell me if i should re-flash with a new ROM?
Thanks in advance! -Bill (Columbus OH, USA)
Could someone lend some advice please? this keyboard is driving me nuts. thanks!
Qwertz is the Croatian keyboard layout.
Is there an international setting that you can change?
I can't try it as mine Vario doesn't get delivered until tomorrow
But I won't be able to play until Saturday as it's my works Christmas 'do' tomorrow

And swiss  Sorry, it does not help. Are you sure that the guy that sold you the device has not installed another rom?
we need only the keybddr.dll from a qwertz device, but nobody
can copy this file. (attribut system und much more)

Hello,
can anyone with an qwertz device start this attached program ?
This will dump all system files on storage card.
Then post please here the keybbdr.dll
thx
regards
Already tried. The DLL is badly extracted. Size is wrong. And if you try to use it, there is no keyboard anymore. Tried on two M3000. Unfortunately, didn't have time to check further (if additional files or registry settings are required for exemple).
Hi jacoch,
are you using the WM5_Files_Dumper.exe ?
regards
Yes, I used that one (and also tested testwm5 found on another thread). It's quite strange, because all files are dumped correctly (html, images, etc...). But all DLL have wrong size, although their content seems correct (apport last bytes of course). I have tried to cut the DLL at the right size, but it didn't work. So if someone has time to look further, he maybe can find the trick.
You may try to use AEKMap (http://ae.inc.ru/aekmap.php) for make A<-->Z replacement.
but @ and ! are wrong ...
regards
the same to @ and !
can you upload the keymap file you are using ?
regards
I have no layout file to fix this issue because I have no such device at all. But as far as I know AEKMap beta was used for resolving similar problem on BlueAngel (and you may find this layout somewhere on the beta version page). And I will gladly publish such layout in database and present reg code to anyone who will send me new useful layout
:?
last week i download AEKMap and has try 5 hours to modify
one map to get the @
No chance with the keyboad from the wizard.
Other peoples has the same problem with @ and AEKMap and
the device htc wizard.
regards
As you may note the new version 1.1 was published two days ago instead of 0.9.4 Beta available since 2004. Probably this version will resolve the problem.
Could you please describe me, why you were unsucessful trying beta? Are needed keys were not cacheable? Or any other reason?
i try the new version now
my last AEKMap.arm.CAB has 97kb size
regards
Many thanks to greddy, German layout for wizard with QUERTZ keyboard and English ROM is on http://ae.inc.ru/aekmaplayout.php!
I have spent few hours in trying to figure if I can assign a button for changing layouts.
I have k-jam and I have 2 language support on it - english and german.
How can I toggle between those 2? I want to have a combination of 2 keys to go from german layout to english and from english to german (like ALT+SHIFT on desktop comps).
Any ideas?
Is it possible with this app?

HTC Wizard - WM6 - UK Keyboard Patch

Hey Folks,
I just upgraded to Wm6 and found it fooked with my keyboard, so after many attempts and fiddles Ive hopefully knobbled something together.
It is simply a few reg patches which SHOULD work, failing this I will patch the driver.
This is designed for people who's external keys where A Should print ! but shows ~
Download Cab:
http://rapidshare.com/files/13246901/HTC_KEYB_UK.cab
Once I know it works, I will upload to FTP.
Sorry if I am not first here!
Cheers,
-Whiterat
This is perfect, i was trying to figure out if it was a dll file which controlled this and was trying to figure out a way how to extract the cab files from within my extended rom.
Many thanks for this. Will test it tomorrow and let you know if it works.
Update This works perfect on my UK O2 xda mini s. Thanks for this.

Creating A Settings CAB??

Hi. I Would Just like To Know How To Create A Cab File That Had All The Settings I Used On My Phone.
I Just Upgraded The Firmware On My TyTN To The AT&T AKU 3.3 Rom And Being From The UK This Ment I Had A Lot Of Information To Change In Order To Get My GPRS,WAP,MMS,E-Mails And Keyboard Layout To Work Again. It Would Have Been Really Handy If I Had Had A Cab File Wich Would Have Added All That Data For Me.
So I Was Just Wondering If Anyone Knew How To Do That.
Cheers
I don't think that's possible.
Even if it was possible, you could have lose some settings when upgrading, because registry keys' locations might have changed.

how do you cook in korean carrier id settings into your custom rom?

as a title says, how do you cook in your network/carrier id settings into your custom rom using available kitchen here? i have difficulties receiving sms and i have been informed that this process is necessary to make it work. anyone got an answer?
Some guy on the Xperia Naver Cafe recently uploaded an English language WM 6.5 ROM, including the kitchen. All of the files, settings you need to get SMS working would be in the kitchen.
As for your specific questions, you can cook in the network settings by using provxml files. I believe the carrier ID setting is located in a txt file in the OperatorPkg folder. The locale/regional settings should also be changed to Korea, and this can also be done through provxml files.
