Activesync passtrough not working with 4.00.10 (solved...) - MDA, XDA, 1010 Software Upgrading

I must be overlooking a very simple setting, because I havn't seen this problem on the forum yet, but........
After flashing to T Mobile test rom 4.00.10 I cannot get an Internet connection anymore via Activesync (3.7) passtrough.
I have been looking everywhere for a setting, but cannot find it. It used to work automatically with rom 3.17.
Any hints?
:?:

Sorry......ignore my post, already solved the problem.

How did you get it working - I had to manually set a proxy server to get it working.

I had that problem months ago with my original ROM. It turned out that I had messed around with ActiveSync and forgot what I did.
My solution was to change the pass through on my desktop to [Internet]. Then everything worked

GPRS-Connection Problems--> Solution!

Hello. Hope this helps.
I flashed my german MDA C with the imate ROM. Everything worked fine, except the connection with GPRS.
For example, when I connected to the Internet (I use the german Vodafone Provider), the connection was stable. But only for this one connection.
When I disconnected pressing the red button longer than 2 seconds, I never was able to get a new connection (Error Message, that no connection could be made by unknown causes). The only way to get out of this mess, was a Soft-Reset.
Another problem was: When receiving an MMS, there was no way to get a connection to the Internet after that (Error Message, that no connection could be made by unknown causes). Only way to get out of this, was to make another Soft-Reset.
I did the following:
Start-->Programs--> Wireless Modem-->Tools-->Options
I unchecked the "Preset GPRS Connection" (it was checked by default).
Since then.....everything works as it should
Ok, the GPRS Connection doesnt disconnect automatically after using it, but it re-connects after using the "Red-Button-Workaround".
Hope, I can help with this.
Greetings from Cologne,
Arniebirdy
thanks man i will try it i have been having problems with my gprs connection..... another thing what is "Red-Button-Workaround" ?
Hi.
The Jam, can't disconnect automatically.
With the "workaround" I meant, that you can disconnect GPRS connection by pressing the red button about two seconds.
Hope this helps.
Greetings from Cologne,
Arniebirdy
ahh thanks man... didn't know that... now i can get rid of gprs monitor...
cheers
Had the same problem, but mine mysteriously solved itself during this weekend. My wModem settings are the default.
hhmmm, yesterday...everything worked fine.
Today, I have the same error again. I post a pic of the error message. Someone any ideas ?
Greetings from Cologne,
Arniebirdy
i get the same damn message... and in addition to it... i the sginal bar goes like that ..... searching for network!!!!!!
arniebirdy:
That setting didn't help me, still getting error-message on my second connection-attempt without soft-resetting first. Using Vodafone Sweden.

The problem is not magician only, see this thread at Tekguru,
Restore default
I had the same problem, have made a hard reset and all he works well is always connected also after before the time. I have made the backup. Then I have modified the configurazini in order to try the wap and have modified the proxy after made the same error did not connect the second time. I have restored the backup and all it works. It must be something that wines modified in the registry when it modifies the logon formulations. I trying to understand what is the problem. Excused for my English.
Why start a new thread on this issue, when there's already a very active thread here, with what appears to be a solution?
The original thread (with what seems to possibly be the solution) can be found here:

Since new ROM, no internet connection with Activesync

GPRS works fine, Wireless at home works, but it seems when I try to access the internet when plugged in, it just wants to connect GPRS, if I cancel that, I still get no internet. Is there something I'm missing?
Thanks,
Marc
yeah, I can't get active sync or WiFi to work since the new ROM on my MDA. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
hey trublu....did you change the GPRS setting?
I did not change the GPRS settings, I have triple checked them and they are correct. I tried creating another and still nothing. I do notice there is no proxy setup listed for the internet setup like there was originally. As I mentioned internet and wireless both work properly.

How to use GPRS Internet on Laptop

How can you use GPRS Internet from your O2 Exec/JASJAR on Laptop/Desktop computer?
I am guessing there should be a way through the wireless modem. Any ideas guys?
Activate the wireless modem, install the device as a modem on the computer.
Dial *99# with the computer..
Hi all
I just avtivated by wireless modem through similarly named app on Exec.
Then on laptop dialed *99# and all was looking well until Win XP laptop said registering computer on the network.
Then error message on Laptop said device wasn't functioning.
Whilst it was trying though the coloured lights on the wireless modem(exec) app were flashing away like merry.
That was entertaining enough but any clues as to where I'm going wrong?
Using a bluetooth dongle with IVT soleil on laptop.
Which works for activesync and headset.
Have stopped activesync on exec in order to get this far.
Phil
You have to install USB modem drivers for your Exec on your XP desktop. I don't know if the modem will work through bluetooth. I use USBmodem drivers with my Vario and it works perfectly. I don't know if you need to use different drivers for your Exec, but I will attach the ones that work with the Vario.

Try a soft reset (that worked setting up a mate's Universal with the same error), sounds like you have the modem installed and everything else set up.
Btw when his couldn't connect with that error, it couldnt connect to the network when not functioning as a modem anyway.
thank you for the modem driver for Universal! I really looking for it
this is about the best walkthrough i have ever read. so Koksie thanks if you wrote this....
anybody got any ideas when this error comes up when i go to start "4- Then in Programs, click on "Wireless Modem". With the Connection type on USB, click on "Start". " and i click start thie error "ERROR .... COME OPEN ERROR"
any ideas what that means?!
Jay
I did not write it myself, just found it and passed it on because it worked perfectly for me. I have no idea why it gives the error you mention. I think the walk through was found on this forum, perhaps try to find the thread and ask the question there? The person who posted this originally might perhaps know the answer. good luck!
I've tried this loads of times all I get is a COM OPEN ERROR on the XDA.. it did work once briefly then wont work again..

I had the same problem. In bluetooth settings delete all the outgoings port that you created. In my case it was port 8 for gprs....Now works¡¡
well thanks for the help.. lol although that doesn't sound to promising maybe i will take it back to o2?
arhh just saw dherrero's reply i may try thatl
jay
hey hey! great thanks for that works brillantly. now i just need to test my tomtom to see if he can stil connect to my GPS device:
Update
Koksie and Kevino most helpful.
I gave up on Bluetooth and got me USB cable out.
The USB modem connects and works well now.
I am not sure the "receive all incoming beams" tick is neccessary?
For O2 customers I found this which was quite useful for the USB Modem Connections settings on the Laptop/PC.
http://flash.o2.co.uk/productsservices/mobileweb/pdfs/Windows manual set up instructions.pdf
BTW I can connect for my emails but have to setup a new Email Account in Outlook to send using the O2 smtp server (smtp.o2.co.uk).
However I still can not get Internet Explorer to be able to browse on this GPRS connection, any ideas?

Well m8...as you bring this up...
If anyone can shed some light on this it would be great.
It seems to me tat this problem is only with o2 :?
I have also tried in the passed to make phones work with laptops an tomtom go's etc for the gprs connection usage and had no joy.... at first i thought it was the phones...tested with Nokias 6310i, 6230, 6230i, SE t630, w800, w900i, etc all running the latest firmware and 02 active settings and always connection errors.
In the meantime ALL the other networks like voda, t-mobile, orange etc work like a charm on the same setups.

synce and Trinity drop connection quickly

Hi just as the name of the thread suggests I am using synce on Feisty and have followed up a few HOWTO's to get my connection working but Unfortunately I can't because as soon as I connect, Authenticate .....
Then I drop out...........
It's really very sad anyone know why?
cheers
Did you use Bluetooth? If yes, it will not work, DUN profile is missed in Trinity
You can try this, good luck
I had a similar trouble, however I gvae up trying to get synce to work, and loaded XP in wmware, and use Activesync to do all my stuff, but I had to disable the tick in "Start->Settings->Connections->USB to PC" to get even that to work.
Now it runs perfectly in wmware, but still no synce.
vmware ---- sync
Yeah I gues it's a fix and I already have an Wexp image so I might settle for that
Cheers
But I haven't attempted the other suggestion from grym ------ but will try later when I finish my JEDI training......
Cheers
To andytof47 , I had the same issue and I've solved issue (drop connection), for WM5 or WM6 you should use package
"synce-odccm" instead of "synce-dccm"
Sorry for my poor English
Good luck

Bluetooth: Not being able to pair / connect

Hey guys,
I have searched for this problem on the forum but I can't find a solution. The problem I have is that my Bluetooth is not working like I would like it to:
When trying to connect from my TD2 to my pc (xp) / laptop (vista) I get the message:
Cannot connect
Your device hasn't been able to connect with 'pc-name'. De connection failed or the password is incorrect.
(I get it in dutch... so if my translation isn't the same as in the english version you know about it).
When using the pc / laptop to connect to the TD2 I get a screen where I can choose between two bluetooth services:
- Dial-up Connection
- Network Access Point
... These are the only two. When I use my old phone I can also use a Serial port connection (and even a few more).
The purpose of the bluetooth connection is to be able to synchronize my contacts with my Microsoft Outlook 2007.
Can someone please help me with this problem? I have already tried a few things, like soft- and hard reset. Updated the ROM, etc. But it is still not working. The only thing which DOES work is connecting the TD2 to my radio in my car...
Thanks in advance
Hi robje,
Ive got same problem with you.. but i managed to solve it ..try enable receive all incoming beams.. u can find it at all settings --> connections --> beam --> then check " receive all incoming beams"... good luck.....
Thanks for the quick help!
I already enabled this setting, but I still have these problems...
I've got exactly the same problem with my bluetooth, are you still using the stock ROM? I've currently got energyrom's standard2.5 installed so I thought that it maybe WinMob 6.5... My wife's phone is fine and she's using the stock ROM. I'm going to go back to HTC's stock ROM, so I'll give you another update after I've done this...
One note to add.. I've seen that on my older Diamond, the bluetooth COM ports menu shows "New outgoing port", whereas my new Diamond2 shows nothing on the same menu...
Update... I've flashed my Diamond2 back to the original HTC ROM and bluetooth is now working correctly. So it looks as though the problem is probably with WinMob 6.5...
Can anyone confirm this at all???
I think I am just using the Stock ROM (as I haven't installed any other). I am also using WM 6.1... as 6.5 is not yet available for the TD2 (if I am correct)...

The retail version isn't but a lot of the ROMs on here have been done with beta versions of 6.5 (mines on build 23016)...
Anyway,I've flashed back to my cooked ROM and bluetooth still isn't working correctly. I've been messing around with the "advanced configuration tool" and found that OBEX was disabled. However once I turned this on, it still wouldn't work correctly...
Yeah I also found the OBEX using Advanced Config. But that didn't seem to matter... I hope anyone knows a solution for this, because it's really annoying! I have contacted the HTC Helpdesk... but didn't get much help. After giving all details about the problem they send me a manual of how to turn on the bluetooth radio on a mobile device :|...
Have you tried reflashing with the latest update from the HTC website?
This problem is getting weirder... I've now found that I can send files from my TD2, it's just the recieving of them that won't work. So I think it must be a possible compatibility issue between WinMob 6.5 & the older version on my TD...
Has anyone got an idea to solve this problem...?
No intention of being a smartass though...
Have you checked the box "visible"?

Hey Magnus,
I do have checked that box and it's visible. I have done all there can be done (the easy way) on the TD2, but all settings are correct. I can also see a list of available bluetooth services on the phone, which also describes the one I need. But when I then try to connect my pc with my phone, I can only choose on my pc between:
- Dial-up Connection
- Network Access Point
Only those 2... when there are much more available according to the list on the phone...
Have you tried to connect to your "old phone" as you mentioned?
Sending receiving between those phones
