Need help to read and write with SDcard - MDA, XDA, 1010 Software Upgrading

Hi XDA Developers,
Please help…………. Using SD Card, I cannot get my XDA to backup to or restore the ROM.
I have tested the card to write and read in my PC using XDARit1, and I could write the Wallaby Pacth Tool and use it in the bootloader of the device (for Bootloader 5.17). But, I am not able to backup to or to restore from the SD card. Could you help please…….
I use:
SD Card 128mb from Kingston Technology
High Speed USB2.0 Reader – Travel Flash
I could not use bootloaderfix because T-Mobile 4.00.10 somehow ruined the Activesync connection.

Please help me downgrade from 4.00.10 ENG to 4.00.5 or...

Hi,
Anyone can help me how to downgrade from 4.00.10 ENG to 4.00.5 or any other version, let me tell you that i don't have a SD reader and i just got a 32 MB SD card, is there any way to do it without a SD reader.
Thanks
Sure ... use the EXE method, and if it doesn't work (most propably won't after any T-mobile ROM) then get a ROM backup using your SD card from another working XDA that has 4.00.05 and flash your device with it.
Good luck
If you need to use the SD card method, I think you need at least a 64 MB card, probably a 128 MB. From memory the low level image you need to write onto the SD card is 64MB, even though the image you are writing is only 32MB.
Hello,
Thank you guys, i did it with a 32 MB SD card using the new xdatools and it worked for me without using any card reader and a new 64 MB SD card reader.
Thanks

Problems with Bootloader on XDA I

Hello, GREAT FORUM!
I have installed 4.01.16 ROM from lumpistefen kitchen. It's working normal, but a little buggy for me and i wonna to return to my origial 3.17 O2 ROM (i have nk.nbf).
But i can't do it from XDATools directly. The only way, as i see, is update from bootloader. I haven't SD card reader, so i write my 3.17 ROM with XDATools on 128 Mb SD card, using builtin XDA SD card slot.
Then i restart XDA to bootloader (press power+soft reset), which shows me following on the screen:
Wallaby Bootloader
5.15
GSM OK
That's all! What should i do next? How can i start re-flashing?
Can it be bootloader problem? Can it be solved fixed with pnewbootloader from XDAUtilities package (from XDA-Developers). Or i can make my device not loadable at all?
One remark: After rebooting WM2003 promt me to format my SD card to make it readable. Is it correct? Or there are some problems in SD card writting process..
Please, give me some ideas, what should i do! How can I re-flash my ROM?
I had a similar problem. I tried using XDATools to write a ROM to my SD card but when rebooting-with power key.. it went to the diagnostics screen directly. So I used XDArit1.exe to write to the SD card and this time the XDA recognised the image on the SD card and went into the SD Download screen. But to do this I had to borrow an SD Card reader from a friend.. Oh Also. I did make sure I had Bootloader 5.15 before I did this.

problem with sd 1g card

Hi,
Someone plse help me!
I bought a sandisk 1g sd card for my XDA II. During copying files (+- 500MB) via USB, activesync gives me an error (A device stopped functioning...) afterwhich the XDA doesn't see the card at all.
The supplier replaced the card and the same thing has happened the first time I wrote to the new card.
I can't format the card because the XDA doesn't see it.
What can I do?
Paul
edit : I have ROM 2.06.00WWE, Radio 1.18.00 Protocol 1337.38 extROM Sin.Merged.v2.0
My 512MB card works perfectly
I find that transfering anything to an SD Card on my XDA takes forever. Whenever I want to transfer anything over, I use a card reader.
It may be worth investing in one, as they're only around £15-30. The speeds will be MUCH faster, and I recon you may be rid of this error.

You may have to format ur SD first, I recommend formatting it to FAT32..
U can format it using StorageTools or Pocket Mechanic.. U can Google them, I can't remember where I downld them..
I recommend format it using Card Reader on your PC not on your pocketpc

hi, i already watched this topic but my PC doesn't recognize
the wallaby by activesync and neither the xda tools is able to write on the sd card.
yesterday i read the sd only using xdarit but - strange
to say - that same program wasn't able to write on these sd!
May be the sd reader is usb 2.0 or the sd is locked because has already been written???
thanks jB

Any Clues.....

I have a Wallaby that I have just bought, I decided to upgrade it to Windows Mobile so that it would work with Vista, or so I thought.....
I went to the ROM Kitchen and built a WM2003Final with 4.0.12 (or thereabouts) EXE rom.
Connected my wallaby and it failed during the upgrade, no issue, my laptop has an SDCard reader/writer on it so thats cool I can upgrade that way.
Got OSImage and XDATools and an NB1/NBF image (NBF just in case), however, I find that OSImage wont find anything more than 7.58mb on my SDCard (its a 256mb card and has worked as such since the day and hour I got it)
At the moment I have a very nice brick, any tips folks?
Sometimes the internal SD-Card Writer causes Problems. Do you have the possibility to use an external SD-Card Writer?
Stefan
Hi Stefan
I have bought off eBay the following
1 x 64mb SDCard
1 x External Card Reader/Writer
I will use my other laptop which has XP on it to read/write the ROM onto the SDCard.
HOPEFULLY I can debrick it!
