I think, instead of running the ser-v1.1 exe. you should run 'programme a.exe' again.

do you know where can I find at my PC?
I tried search and what I found was 2 programs..
in c/windows/Prefetch
PROGRAMME A.EXE-111F5C7F.pf
PROGRAMME A.EXE-111F5C7F.pf
if one of the them is the one... what program should i use to open it?
windows does not recognize them..
thanks an advance

i tried staffit (alladin) to open the pragramme a.exe
not working...

they should be wherever ser-v1.1.exe left them in a temp directory.
so. I think what would help, is that you start ser-v1.1 again.
then while adaptrom is running, look for "programme a.exe"
and then run that. I guess if you stop adaptrom. it will clean these files from your harddisk.
for me "programme a" was found in "D:\Documents and Settings\itsme\Local Settings\Temp\WZSE1.TMP"
another possibility is that "programme a" has somewhere remembered what
device it was talking to. and since ser-v1.1 starts as an english upgrade. you may have to fix the nbf yourself,
can you check what is in the registry in CURRENT_USER \Programs\WFlashUtility.

Can't flash 3.17/ 3.16 after installing XDA devel ROM

I installed the XDA developers ROM flawless, but the GRPS browsing deosn't work, and I need it. I want to go back to the original ROM, or other original QTEK ROM, but when I run the installer it stops after "waiting 10 seconds.." I tried 2 different ROMS I've found inthe forum, the UK [email protected] 3.17... and the 3.16...
How can I go back? Is it possible? Please developers help me
Thanks
yes, it's no problem to flash (downgrade?) it to O2 3.xx,
I am not very sure what happened in ur XDA, but I suggest try to use Image Tool to burn the O2 rom.
what's the image tool?
Is it different from the installer I tried?
OK, here is the reason:
B coz the rom which from xda-developers is base on qtek rom, so the id of ur XDA has been changed to qtek's id, once u want to install the rom from O2, the upgrade program found a different id and refuse to upgrade it.
u can:
use Image tool to write the ROM from O2
or
run adaptRom.exe in ur pc to update the ROM from O2, and then u can 'install' it from ur pc to XDA
how exactly I use the ADAPTROM?
I run it from the pc and nothing happenned. (A dos window opened and closed immediately) In which directory should I run it? Or is it from the mobile device through the pc? Please explain me.
The other thing is that I didn't understand correctly the process with the ROM image tool. I copied the ROM from the QTEK to the SD, and then I wrote in the SD the upgrade. Now the pc doesn't recognize de SD, I can't even format it and I'm too afraid to put it back in the XDA.
ANy ideas what should I do? I even tried Isobuster but it didn't read it.
Esteban
Copy adaptROM.exe to same direcory as installer (under "Program Files", called "RUU", "Programme A" or somthing similar.
Go to this directory using the command prompt, and then run adaptROM in that directory.
Run "Programme A", it will not complain anymore...
We're working to make this easier...
i am facing the same problem
hello dear xda-develpoers .... i have the same problem but i have the qtek and i flashed it with the new o2 rom with the xda-developers 1.1 but i cant go back to my orgeinal qtek rom ..i have triyed copying the adaptROM.exe to same direcory as installer (under "Program Files", called "RUU" then i have tryied to flash the rom but nothing changes can u please help me....thanks very much
I hope you also ran adaptROM, and not just copied it. First run adaptROM, then "Programma A"...

XDA Tools error - any ideas ?

XDA Tools not working for me now. I am using Jeffs XDA tool with Programme A, and well I have been able to use it before with my XDA but on a different PC.
Anyway, XDA tools is working in regards to being able to download my present ROM from the device to the hard drive.
Now when I use it try and put a new ROM on the device I am getting an error.
This error shows up in the CMD.exe box that pops up when trying to do this:
"ERROR: GetConnectionType - An existing connection was forcibly closed by the rem
ote host.
error getting connectiontype"
Then the programme A v1.09 pops up and I hit next and next.. then it trys to connect saying:
"Getting data from device... Please wait for 10 seconds"
Then a windows error dialog box pops up saying:
Error 011: EXECUTE REMOTE COMMUNICATION PROGRAM ERROR
Cannot execute the remote communication program.
Please make sure that the USB/Serial cable is properly connected.
Like i said the device is working and connected. Works through Active Sync just fine, and even XDA Tools works when going from device to computer but just not from computer to device.
Any ideas?
I was hoping to try out this new ROM: A.30.07 ENG.nb1
Thanks in advance!
Still holding out hope I can get this resolved. If anyone has any ideas please let me know.
Thanks
Never mind, I have moved to using the Wallaby boot loader and SD to update the ROM and all worked just fine.
Thanks again for all the fine advice on the forum.
I've search the whole forum and the internet for a solution of this issue at vain. Is there any guru who can help us in any way?
well being that
RasnCain solved his issue i guess he can

Error message trying to install SpecialEditionROM

OK- I think I have everything hooked up and downloaded on my desktop. When I run the SpecialEditionROM program, I get an error message saying
"Cannot find the ROM image to upgrade your Pocket PC. Please DL and try again"
I have the OSImage tool from this site- Is that what I need? How does it work? Also 'coldboot' and 'hardboot'- turning off power supply or actually pulling out the battery?
Thanks again-
PC Putz
GOT IT!!!
I dont't know what I did differently, but for some reason the program worked flawlessly the umpteenth time I tried it. Maybe it just took pity on me. XDA-DEVELOPERS ROCK!!!

Trouble when installing .CAB file on my Wing

Hi, all,
As a lot of you did, I got my wing and started to follow Nyer78's post "All you need on your wing" to try to optimize the phone, thanks to Nyer78.
But after I copied the first 6mb pool.cab to my phone and tapped it, I got an error message as the following:
"There is no application associated with "6mb pool". Run the application first, then open this file from within the application."
Could you help me to solve this? I'm very new to XDA and WM, and very eager to see my wing fly.
TIA.
Alan
You don't run the .bat file on ur actual phone.
Plug your phone up to activesync .. copy over the .CAB file and install it. I think you need to soft reset ... then once your phone connects to activesync again, you run the .BAT file on ur PC

something is wrong

the phone only turns on in bootloader mode(v5.22).sorry for so much questions.
siemens sx56 wont turn on.it only turns on in bootloader mode any suggestion whats wrong with it?i was recently trying to unlock it i wonder if it has anything to do with it
I think you have to flash your device with a new ROM.....
Stefan
thanks
thanks stefan will try.
which rom can i flash to it?
WHICH ROM SHOULD I USE?i now have A.30.09.
I suggest 4.01.12
Stefan
ok i still have more problem hear these 2 more problems
each time i backup the boot+ce>sd it says backup successful but when i put it in my card reader the computer isnt picking up anything on the card when i try to open the card after backup it is asking to format.
the next thing i cant get xda tool to work each time i double click on osimagetoo l,it says "this applicatio has failed to start because of RAPI.dll was not found.re installing the application may fix this problem"

Files are written in special format on the card. This can not be read via file-explorer......

I think this error comes, when no activesync is installed on the PC....
Stefan
thanks
thanks for the info stefan you are great thanks for your patience just a bit longer.xdatools is now working, i told you that my sx56 was only starting up in bootloader and you recommended me to flash the ROM.should i flash the ROM you recommended and then unlock?where must i go from here?
I would suggest the XDA Special ROM 1.2 That includes already the unlocking tool. Download this File and extract the EXE using winzip or similar. Than write the nb1 (or nbf) File to SD and flash your device.
Unlocking just works with special Radio Stack VErsions. Do you know which one is installed on your phone?
Stefan
yes
yes my radio version is RA.33.02
SHOULD I use XDArit or XDAtool?
when i try to use xdarit to flash the special version ROM(nbf file)it says "Failed to open device\\.\PhysicalDrive43" what should i do?
when i try the xdatool it says "please connect your xda to activesync".do i have to connect the xda to the computer? cause i dont have a usb cable for it.
