Hi,
This may be unrelated - just did an unlock with manipulator and serial cable unlocked a treat but now there is no sounf from either the PDA or the GSM (i.e. no ring and no music) - anyone else had this? Is it a faulty unit?

Hello everybody !!
I am a newbie with my 02 XDA II device and also new to this (great)forum. I've learned quite a lot about my PPC on this site but now I've got a problem I wasn't able to solve yet:
I recently bought a Royaltek 2000 Sapphire GPS Device (Sirf II chipset) which connects by wire to the serial port of my XDA II.
When I first connected both devices it all worked out with the Software I installed for testing (GPS Dash/VisualGPSce).
Due to problems with my car cigarette lighter (from which I get the power to operate both devices) which I tried to fix - I might have damaged or destroyed my GPS device.
I always get the message that com port 1 cannot be opened.
Now I wonder whether this is because I might have destroyed my gps device or because some other program is blocking the com-port (as the software suggests).
My question therefore is: How can I find out whether or not any other programs are blocking my com-ports. Is there software out there to check on the Com-Port status ?
I just wanna make sure that the problem lies within my GPS Device before I throw it away. If you know of any method to test the GPS Device's functionality itself - I'm certainly interested in that as well.

Go to settings/connections/beams and make sure the incoming beams box is UNCHECKED.

Hi I cant get my Pioneer bluetooth radio to connect to my XDA EXEC I have used my Pioneer radio to connect to other phones fine.
Anyone else got this working?
also can u rename the Bluetooth on the EXEC
I don't have an answer, but can you comment on how the pioneer radio works as a hands-free kit?
Not technically how it works, but how you have found it ie: echo's, caller experience etc.
Works fine the mic that comes with the radio works great, I installed it in the top right hand corner of the drivers side, and even if passanger wants to talk the person hears other end,
Some people have said that there is a bit of a Echo on there end.
Normally it conncect to bluetooth phones easy, juts click on register it finds phone then enter code on phone and done.
I have managed to see the radio from connecting from XDA to the radio, but the radio will still not register it !!. can anyone help.
Don't use the radio's 'register' function. Go to connect and set it going then go to the pda and add a new BT device with the code 1111. Worked for me on my JAMin.

Can anyone confirm if the Exec is compatiable with this stereo? I've got an Orange M5000 and was thinking of getting this stereo, specifcally for the bluetooth functionality.
I don't think the phone is on their compatibilty list, but I know these lists aren't always kept up to date.

Maybe you should tell us your ROM version so we can see if it has A2DP support.

hiho everyone,
im quite in a little trouble with my alpine aka xda2i.
first of all i owned the old Himalaya Device and also the o2 carkit. no problems so far. now i "updated" to the xda2i and now its not possible to use the carkit as it was designed for, handsfree phoning... i hear the ones that calls me but they cannot hear me, i checked the micro but that is still ok. So maybe someone owns or knows where to get the connector pinout from an Alpine. then i can compare it with the Himalaya pinout. maybe they just changed 1 or 2 pins.
Second thing i want to know is if anyone knows how decode the Alpine ROMs cause i always get an password error on ER2003Edit..

Hi All,
I just got a new Hermes (Qtek 9600/ SFR 1605 here in France) and I found a big problem: the handset is plugged to the small USB jack and the power adaptor is also plugged on the same connector. (I didn’t look for that before because I have a S200 which have a 2.5mm jack for the handset).
So, I use Tomtom V6 and if I don’t plug the device on an external power adaptor, the battery has a lifetime of about 3 hours.
I need the handset because, here it is forbidden to phone when driving and I have a very noisy car which doesn’t permit the use of speakers.
I tried a Bluetooth handset, but it is seen as a hands free unit and if the phone sound is right with this unit, the Tomtom sound continue to go to the phone speaker.
I asked Qtek but I didn’t have any answer, I asked SFR but they told me “it was not their problem”.
Does someone have a solution or an idea to bypass this trouble ? (For me it is a design fault).

Today I leased a new Volkwagen Passat Business Edition. Part of the business edition is the pre-installed standard telephone kit.
I understood that after activating this with the required telephone the carkit would be bluetooh enabled.
Therefor these questions;
1) does anyone know with what telephone adapter the passat is sold.
2) does anyone think it is possible to link a pocket pc with the passat?

I also drive the same car. To activate the BT function you need a original phone adapter plate (the both buttons on the plate activate BT). But you can only sold this by your VW partner. You can get this plate for selected phones from NOKIA, SIEMENS and I think Motorola. I use a second SIM card with the same phone number as in my Universe is activ, this service is provided by T-MOBILE.
I think you can get the same service from your phone provider.
The last info from our VW partner is, only selected phones works with the standard phone kit. If you find a solution, please let me know that.

Do you have to switch off your 9000 to activate the other SIM, or can the two sims be active simultaneously?
Is the second sim phone supported including bluetooth?
Can you access address books etc?

I saw someone on this website stating that he was able to setup the SAP settings in the phone to support this Bluetooth connection with the WM OS.
Is this correct?
