Hello everyone.
Im having serious trouble with my MDA i updated just yesterday. Somehow it hung up at 60%. Waited for about 15 Minutes but nothing happened. So restart, but MDA was dead.
I managed it ti load the CE and ROM with an SD from another MDA into the broken one. Went well, the device boots, after 15 minutes, but everything goes very slow.
So managed it to upload the cab file of the RSU on another SD, inserted it, executed, but at 1% it just fails to flash and want to restart the MDA.
I also tested the method someone mentioned with the autorun.exe, didnt help.
In the wallaby bootloader i saw that there is an option to Backup the GSM ROM to SD, but then it wants some kind of "PC Monitor". Thought it might be some kind of hyperterminal connection, but turned out not to be.
So, does anybody here have a clue what to do???
GSM ERROR
Hello there
I've suffered the same problem as many others did.
I suggest one final solution before giving up and believing it's a dead motherboard.
the solution I believe is:
1- Using a working XDA and through the bootloader click on contacts button to get to the flash menu then click on the option for copying rom and GSM to SD.
2- after complete copy use the same SD card in your device (at bootloader)
3- tell me what you get..

Gives me the already mentioned "Please connect RS232 and run PC Monitor" Screen...
If you are sure you have followed all procedure re: 1% screen of death mentioned in various threads in this forum, then you're best bet is to return the unit the your distributor/ service centre for repair.
I had this problem and posted my experiences on several threads. I spent the first 2-3 weeks trying different things without any luck. THen one day, I just return the unit the distributor and they repaired in two days. I was told they had to replace the GSM main board.
My problem was caused by T Mobile radio stack upgrade ( I did not use SD method, so the installation installed Tmobile radio stack on my 900/1800 xda. It worked fine until I accidentally 'checked' the 1900 option...
Just my two cents
Please Masters JEDI, Help Me. Suddenly my XDA I don't show anything, even when I reset or hard reset, it just go to O2 screen then white page blank with a blue bar on top of it. When I bootload it, It says Wally patch ver 5.17, then GSM Error. I have tried to make an SD card boot, but not success, it also can't be downgraded to Ver 5.15 since my XDa stop connecting with my cimputer. plsssss.... helppp......!
1. Did you patch to 5.17?
2. ROM and GSM versions?
3. Did you do anything with GSM module?
4. What do you call "Suddenly"? Wake up in the morning and it doesn't work?
I made my one HardReset automatically when I played with processor speed (206 -> 236). Did you try to do something like that?
See my post on the sx56 RSU update a few weeks ago. I had the same problem.

I upgrade my ROM to Pocket PC2003 (T-mobile.nbf) image that worked with no problems using the XDA OS Image tool. It copied over using programme A and following the upgrade I carried our a Radio Stack upgrade to 4.21 supplied by O2. I now have a problem as the phone wont work. I tried re copying the immage again but just before programme A runs a cmd.exe box apears and I get the following message 'ERROR: GetConnectionType - An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.
error getting connectiontype
Programme A then tells me my device is not connected and to check the USB connection. Can any body please help me. All I want is to get my XDA phone up and working again.
Which network are you using, it may be that the bandswitch has chosen 900/1900 which would prevent orange and t-mobile from working, if this is the case enter bootloader, then push the key below the antenna, choose 900/1800 then reboot.
I'm on the O2 (pay as you go) network. There were no problems with my phone and the T-mobile image until I performed the O2 Radio Stack upgrade. I hade already performed this upgrade on my old operating system, before I copied over the T-mobile image. I had no problems with the old OS and the Radio Stack upgrade.
Seamus, if you burn the original O2 rom back to the phone, you will be able to return it to O2 if it is the radio stack upgrade that killed the phone, they should fix it for free.

Harry, have you tried using the bootloader patch in xdatools, if you have xdatools installed, go to start on your desktop then programs/xdatools. An option to fix broken bootloader should be there.

HI all,
I'm desperate...
I recently bought an 02 Orbit that was supposed to be unlocked.
So I downloaded PDAMobiz_Dopod_P800W_AKU301_v1.1.0_Lite.exe, unpacked it and double clicked on UpgradeRom_P800W.bat
A dos installation routine started, then I performed a hard reset by pressing the softkeys + stylus reset.
and now I"m stuck on the O2 logo, with some red informations written :
IPL 1.25.0001
SPL 1.25.0000
GSM 02.67.90
OS 1.28.0.0
but nothing else, the device doesn't boot :-(
I'm completely desperate... I had my Orbit working 1h only and now I still have my eyes to cry.
I've tried to install another ROM like ART_HTCWWE_11240501_026790_WWE_Ship, but when I launch ROMUpdateUtility.exe it says that no device is connected....
I tried to enter the bootloader but I don't understand how I could do that (by the way what do you guys mean by the record button? where is it?)
Could someone explain me how I can recover my crashed device please ?
Thanks in advance
ok I've found the record button and managed to enter the bootloader (red-green-blue screen right?). But it doesn't help. My device is not recognise by my PC anymore, no connection.
The problem is that I didn't make the procedure on IMEICHECK because the vendor said my Orbit was already unlocked. I know, I'm stupid, I should have....
Anyway, now I've my 30€ UNL file,
I've edited a ROM with the hex program, I've change "BsaD5SeoA" with "IMEICHECK save exe file" (I told you I'm stupid, or I didn't exactly understood what you mean, because I don't have any IMEICHECK.exe file)
I tried to launch a ROM upgrade but my device still not be recognised by my computer, even in bootloader mode.
Same **** when I try to launch the C3v1Unlock, it says no device connected.
Please, if you have anything to help me......
After i read this THREAD who explain how to repair my problem ...But it dosent work for me
When i want to flash it, it tell me :
INVALID MODEL ID ,with : RUU_Artemis_DOPODASIA_WWE_LOVE_1.28.717.1_INFINEon gsm4.1.13.30_02.69.90_Cmp_Ship_R.exe
INVALID UPDATE TOLL ,with : _ARTE_DOPODAU_12570702_026990_WWE_SHIP.exe
And after have made the TUTO !
Click to collapse
I saw this post on an other thread... I am having the same problem... I bought artemis from ebay and the seller told me that it was unlocked... But i can't flash it with these ROMs... Did you find a solution? Is it really unlocked?
By the way when the window that tells me "INVALID MODEL ID" shows up at the bottom and to the right of the window there is i big number... Do you know what this is?
Same problem here
I have THE SAME problemhere. The same message on the boot screen. It seems that we are not able to use our XDA ORBIT ;( any more
At least we can download oreginal XDA Orbit english or German ROM OR if someone write RUU for Xda Orbit. Than would be easy - you just go to boot loader and you start your RUU, or easily put .NBH file to your micro SD and flash it from micro SD.Too bad I can just cry over my Xda Orbit. PLEEEASSEEE HELPPP
I also heard that FTP ROM site is going down ---- XDA GENOCIDE!!! What ARE you doing people!
Try the orbit ROM on ftp if it is still there
When a seller says a device is unlocked, all they mean is that you can use any sim card of your choice. To be able to flash another rom you need to CID unlock it. For the Orbit/Artemis family we only have imeicheck selling the program for unlocking cid.
My advice would be to look for the orbit rom on ftp. If it does not work, check with imeicheck if their program works when device is in bootloader mode, and pay them and download the specific application for your device. Good luck
I had a problem with my Orbit when I tried to change the Rom to the PDAMobiz one. I ended up recovering it by...
1 - Hard Reseting it.
2 - Connecting it up to the PC then running C3v2Unlock note v2 from the the IMEICheck site. This made the screen on the Orbit go bright white.
3 - Downloading the the Rom listed in this thread and following the instructions with in the same
It means that my Orbit is seen as a HTC P3300 but it feels quicker. You do need the UNL file from IMEICheck to keep it unlocked. But it worked for me.
Yes I tried everything in bootloader mode,
the C3V2 Unlock program launched but after detecting the device, it says my device is corrupted with a kind message "[probably by your fault]" ;-)
So guys, everyone who's trying to upgrade : CID UNLOCK YOUR PHONE BEFORE DOING ANYTHING, and carefully read the (excellent) tuto.
FYI, here's the discussion I had with Imeichek guys :
------------------------------------------------------------
Hi,
I'm a little desperate and I hope you'll be able to help me...
I recently bought an 02 Orbit that was supposed to be unlocked (I didn't know the difference between SIM lock and CID lock)
I understood, too late, that I should have ask for my UNL file prior to do this stupid "direct upgrade" I did...
Here are the facts :
1- I didn't follow the instructions found on http://forum.xda-developers.com that explained how to order the UNL file and Unlock the device unlocked
2- I downloaded a new ROM (PDAMobiz_Dopod_P800W_AKU301_v1.1.0_Lite.exe)
3- I unpacked it and double-clicked on UpgradeRom_P800W.bat
4- A dos installation routine the started, then when asked, I performed a hard reset by pressing the softkeys + stylus reset.
now I"m stuck on the O2 logo, with some red informations written :
IPL 1.25.0001
SPL 1.25.0000
GSM 02.67.90
OS 1.28.0.0
but nothing else, the device don't go further
I've tried to install another ROM like ART_HTCWWE_11240501_026790_WWE_Ship, but when I launch ROMUpdateUtility.exe it says that no device connected.
I managed to enter the bootloader but my device is still not be recognised by my computer (not connected message). I tried your C3v2Unlock tool but it says the same : NOT CONNECTED
So please, if you have any information or procedure I could try to fix my device, I would really, really, appreciate, especially after my 30€ contribution ;-)
Best regards

yes it's a UK version

Ok,
I guess I don't have any other choice.
Wich ROM will you install if there's no official O2 Rom ?
What is the procedure, what's your adress, and how much will cost the return ?
Thanks a lot

----------------------------------------------------------
here I am,
I guess there is nothing else to do.
First I want to thank you all for trying to help, then thanks to IMeicheck, they replied very fast and found a solution, even if I won't hae my Orbit for several weeks.
2- I downloaded a new ROM (PDAMobiz_Dopod_P800W_AKU301_v1.1.0_Lite.exe)
3- I unpacked it and double-clicked on UpgradeRom_P800W.bat
Click to collapse
Maybe you should not have unpacked the file Just clicking on the file icon starts the procedure, which does some checks before actual upgrade starts.
I have switched so many times between the pdamobiz roms and the HTC one so many times I've even lost count
It's been easy for you... because your phone was CID unlocked ;-)
Well i had HTC ROM and now i have pdamobiz... That means that my artemis is cid unlocked???
my orbit is stuck on boot screen exactly as manples'. i tried to flash pdamobiz custom ROM. i can enter bootloader. can u tell me plz to what change "BsaD5SeoA" with "IMEICHECK save exe file" from imeicheck i've got c3v2unlock.exe & unl file. i tried flash it tru sd card-nothing. I've got o2orebit (ARTE200) please hlp
Psrejic, does your Orbit work again? I have the same problem. Can't get passed the splash screen because I flashed it with the PDAmobiz rom.
Only way to go is thrue bootloader. Did the SD flash work for you?
Same problem here Waiting for any solution ...
Only solution so far is imei-check service, witch will cost you: Price of sending to them: (UK) Then 20£+15£(aprox) to pay them for unlocking and repairing + sending back.
That's what I've done,
I received an email where they confirmed the reception of my device and that they flashed it with a new Rom. My device is supposed to work, it's great ! can't wait to try it.
Hi manples ...
You send it to imei-chek?
My Orbit works again! ... but not with a software solution.
I returned the phone to the O2 shop and they gave me a new one immediately. I didn't mention my PDAmobiz Rom upgrade offcourse.
It isn't the nicest way to deal with the problem, but when o2 flashes the rom on the phone they can sell it again.
Then I did the Imei-check solution. Worked and flashed the dopod rom on it.
hi to all yesterday I was your siimilar problem (I've try to install teh powermap rom...) so my Orbit O2 (original german rom) still only in boot screen, today I've try to install this magic rom:
