I have a locked T-Mobile and I am in the middle-east
I have the serial cable and I can sync my pocket pc phone Edetion ( T-Mobile ) without problems & I downloaded the XDA manipulator
I followed all the steps but it didn't work. The program couldn't detect my T-Mobile. I don't know wath could be the problem

If you are sure you have a serial cable, the problem might be that some other program, possibly even ActiveSync, is keepin the COM port open. So kill ActiveSync or tell it to leave the port alone, and then try again.
Yeap, this was a problem for me, I uninstalled Active sync and unlocked it faster than you can say (insert something corny here).

the steps i do as follw
1-start my pc
2-wait tel all programs loaded to the pc
3-disable all programs so to be sure that no eny program using com port
4-reset my device by the heding botton botom side ( using the pen)
5- making soft reset from the top botton
6-conecting the seril cable to the device
7- runing the program
non respons( give the same result) conecting to host and then disconect

These steps have to happen at the same time! In other words: hold the on/off button pressed while performing a soft reset (using the big hole on the bottom left).

This may be a stupid question, but do you have ActiveSync installed on your pc?
If not than that's the reason it won't work.
If you have ActiveSync installed you should check this:
ActiveSync Check in Settings - Connections - USB to PC that the USB advanced network functionality is not ticked.
i have activesync installed.. tried that too..... but when i plug the usb cable.. shouldn't i hear the specific sound on the pc when a device is detected? (the sound is not disabled.. i hear it when i plug the bt adaptor.. )

This often happens - try reinstalling activesync and rebooting pc. Or you can do it via bootloader mode - you don't need activesync for this way. If you are going to flash a different language rom your device must be cid unlocked or you will brick it.

Use imei check.co.uk - costs around 20 pounds - don't even consider flashing with a diff country rom before doing this. There maybe a problem with your pc - try a different one if you can. Also update to v 4.5 of activesync if you have not done already.
allready have v4.5, allready tried on other pc.. i guess i'll have to get used to italian...

You need to sort out why your device is not activesyncing with the pc's - do they both have firewalls? If so try disabling them and for good measure turn off antiviral scanner and try again.
nope.. it's not the firewall.. i tried without it too..
what port is the ppc using for usb connection?
It maybe the usb cable that is faulty - have you another you can try
the cable works with my camera and it charges the phone..

Sorry no such thing - i would still try another cable - Which pc's did you try - i.e. do they have the same configuration of diff?
Did you try bootloader mode? - when you attach to pc - a little usb should show in bottom left corner to show you are connected (activesync not needed)

Diff language = diff rom so you still have the same problem.
Did you say you tried a new cable? if your device won't connect to pc at all via usb then I suggest you have a faulty device and it needs to be replaced / fixed

I need help urgent. My dopod can't syn with Pc after i successfully upgraded to ausdim's Rom! Right now,i can't install softwares, can't connect with pc. I want to use other Rom but since there is no connection so i can't do anything.

Don't worry ! Rom and device are ok!
Have you tried to make an Hard reset? If you don't , try now and let us know.
I tried both ways you mentioned (hard reset, and "go to settings-connections-usb to pc and NO enable advanced network functionality")
When i plug the usb cable in, there is nothing happen However there is yellow light indicate that the device is charging.....

Go to your pc...click on active sync icon with right key , go to connection settings and flag usb connection.let us know
Yes, i restarded my PC after i Re-install Activesyn 4.5....
And i did reflash (via Mini Sd card method) the device to another rom (PDAVIET) but problem is still there...
I tried to syn with my other 2 laptop as well but both of them don't make any connection....
Very frustrating...

Probably during the update procedure some files have corrupted , please wait , i search solution...

DISABLE USB PORT FROM ACTIVESYNC, PUT DEVICE IN BOOTLOADER AND START MTTY , NO SELECT COM , AT THE END OF COM MENU , YOU FIND USB , SELECT IT AND TYPING :

Now , remember to reable usb connection in activeSync and try synchronisation , if doesn't work , reflash the rom.

How do i type those? i pick USB and click OK, then the message showed up "USB PORT CAN NOT OPEN" !
i think the phone usb is not working. When i install WM5TORAGE and try to use the mass store option the computer don't pick the connection...

This is my first post on this forum.
Im new to the Pocket Pc's. I got this T-Mobile MDA II from my friend 2 days ago and that was the first time in my life when I touched the PPC.
I have a big problem.
MDA II is not reading the SMS (''the phone is not ready, try again in 15min'').
And another problem is GPRS. MDA says ''connecting'' or something like that, and nothing happens.
The PPC is from Germany, and I live in Croatia. And the language is in English-Germany.. Something is on English, something on Germany.
Can someone explain what's the problem ?
And another question
I download the WM6.1 AKU1.0(build 19199).
I can't get to the Bootscreen mod, I click the middle navigation button, then power button and nothing happens.
And where is the reset button ?

I need someone to explain how to install ROM on MDA II.
the reset button is on the left of the charging block ( tiny hole )
follow these instructions
Start your device in bootloader mode by pressing and holding down:
DPad + PowerButton + ResetButton
After a second release ResetButton, then release the rest of them.
Your screen will show word "Serial" at the top.
You are in bootloader mode now.
Place your device in the cradle, ensuring that the cradle
is plugged directly into a USB port on your PC and not to a hub
and that the power supply is connected to the cradle.
It is also a good idea to disable any screensavers on your desktop PC.
Once your device is cradled, the text on the screen will change to "USB".
Run HimaUpgradeUt.exe
Sit back and wait for the Congratulations screen to be displayed
on your PC. Your device will still be displaying 'Upgrading ROM Image, please wait....',
but as long as the PC says it is done, then its all OK.
Detach your device from the cradle.
Now you have to hardreset your device.
Press ResetButton and hold down CameraButton + RecordButton.
Hold them pressed until the "Boot Options" menu appears on the screen.
Select the options as follows:
(for selecting use RecordButton, change values with CameraButton)
Enable KITL -> NO
Clean Registry Hive -> YES
Format Storage -> YES
When done, press DPad and wait until OS starts.

Hi can anybody help i have a 6915 tht i have tried to upgrade from spannish to english .Everyhing seemed to go fine but at the end had to hard reset now its stuck on hp logo screen. Now i have tried various fixes for this but to no avail. I cannot even connect to it via activesync.ive tried leaving battery out all night.Ive also tried the uni_exitbootloader but as i said before i cant even connect to it.Is there any other way of connecting apart from the cradle?Ie
perhaps some sort of serial cable or perhaps booting from sd card or something.I really am fed up as you can imagie as i think i now have a 600 euro paper weight lol.
Anyway if anyone can help or pehaps point me in the right direction it would be really apreciated .phil.

Heya! Ok, what i did was the following,
1: hold down the 2 function buttons on either side of the joystick (NOT the call answer and call kill buttons, between them )
2: while holding the buttons down, use the pen and press the reset button at the bottom of the phone.
You should now have a bootloader screen, with an HP logo, and SERIAL or USB line of text at the top, and a G.39 version text at the bottom of the screen....
Activsync need not be connected at this stage, just your USB cradle or cable....
3: Download and extract the _Sable___G3_DEVICE_ONLY_hw6915-1.21uk.rar file from above... remember to delete the files from folder - CEBL.nbf, RadioFS.nbf, RadioOS.nbf..
4: run the sableRUU.exe ... this will now install the CE OS in english....
mine has been in brick phase for weeks now, its the first time i managed to get the OS back up! Now i need to sort out the GSM problem....!

As for the 614, i dont think this fix will work.... i dont have a 614, so cant help out much there....!!!!

If you do not know what you are flashing, do not flash it. Do your research before you flash anything.
We have alot of hw69xx bricks because of this, including mine.
I have to this day only fixed 2 "NO GSM" phones, I am asking anyones help to fix others.

And now it's dead because obviously lost connection with PC. My PDA shows Serial at the top and v 1.01 below. When I put it in the cradle, it displays usb at the top and v 1.01 below. I keep trying the reccord button, power, and hard reset but it nothing happen Plyzz help me.

Don't be panic man just follow the below steps and your device working like charm
It is actually the disconnection error
1 - first fully charged battery.
2 - install mobile device center or active sync ( as per your OS )
3 - Enter in to the bootloader mode
4 - connect USB cable with ppc device.
5 - wait for detection of the device
6 - drivers are automatically installed if you are using windows7 it shows
driver installed successfully & device is ready to use.
7 - extract the rom update utility from the posts whichever you like ( remember choose it carefully as per your device )
8 - just double click on upgrade icon in extracted folder and yeah you done.
