Qualcomm 8 Android Headunits - Android Head-Units

Hi All, OEM radio died and looking into Android HU. ~2 yrs back was curiously shopping for Boison (PX6) but 2yrs is a lot of time. BTW, they are rebranded as KCBoison but I get the sense they've stopped improving and just selling old stock.
I'm now seeing Andriod units with "advertised" Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 chip (not sure if this is Gen 1 or Gen 2) with DDR5 RAM.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 vs Snapdragon 8 Gen 1: Year-on-year improvements amplified by better efficiency
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is the latest iteration of Qualcomm's flagship chipset, but how good is it really?

I know it is tricky b/c there are a bunch of cheap stuff out there and too many generic names to differentiate vendor (rebrand) vs manufacture. It also doesn't help most listings do NOT list detailed specs such Radio chip, Amp chip, DSP chip, etc.
Does anyone have feedback, thoughts, experience on this Forefeel (poorly translate name) D5 unit (QCM 6-128G DVR) for $293.31 shipped? It is a full kit with bezel and wiring harness. For +$30 more, I can opt for 4 camera 360 view system (QCM 6-128G 360), which lists Sony lens (sounds too good to be true). I'm in contact with the vendor to see if I can get more specific specs. So far, they provided image of the back of the unit and confirm it is Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 chip. While I don't like slim tablet housing, this comes with a built in fan. Interesting to note it has optical outlet (#13).
-Qualcomm Snapdragon 665
-6G RAM (unclear but think DDR5 with Qualcomm units and DDR4 for others)
-128G ROM
-1280x720P (9")
-Wireless Carplay/Andriod Auto

KCBoison's product specs look dated but I LOVE they actually list ALL spsecs AND show what the back of the unit looks like! They seem to be the few that had single DIN housing instead of slim tablet housing (bad for summer heat dissipation) for 9" units.

Does anyone have experience with Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 chip Android units? Is the experiecne worth the price?

I BOUGHT THIS SET GM-N9005 FROM A PERSON. WHEN USSD CODE *#1234* IS USED ONLY SHOWS AP AND CSC. NO CP IS SHOWN. MORE OVER NULL IMEI AND UNKOWN BASEBAND IS SHOWN. SO I DOUBTED IT IS A LIVE DEMO. I OPENED UP THE SET AND THERE IS NO ANTENNA WIRE. THE ROMS INSTALL ON IT EASILY. KIES RECOGNIZES THE PHONE. LOOK AT THE IMAGES AND TELL IF IT IS A LIVE DEMO OR NOT? COULD IT WORK IF ANTENNA IS PLACED.

looking at hardware seems legit. China fakes look awfull inside. Battery seem ok, spen as well.
Look at storage, fake has 8gb at most, and A7 or Mediatek chips, not Qualcom.
Use CPUZ to sees CPU/GPU, do an ANTUTU. If you have 30k on Antutu its legit.

Its a demo unit. Confirmed. Thanks for your support. Reason no cable connector in upper part.

I have been robbed.
So its an full note without gsm? Is like an Ipod?
Let me laugh
I NEVER SAW I9005 with SPen , Look at the PEN is full fake the button is close to the grey zone almost to the back , at the real N3 is put almost to your 1st finger and is very easy to be activated. And again IN THE LAST 1 YEAR SAMSUNG NEVER WROTED MADE BY SAMSUNG is only SAMSUNG MADE IN VIETNAM OR TAIWAN ( 99% in VIETNAM) I have the model S4 and NOTE 3 and on bouth are wroted MAde in Vietnam . BY SAMSUNG . But usually is N9005 and the full is SM N9005 VERDICT FULL DEMO UNIT OR FULL FAKE DEMO UNIT .
it looks to me like a fake, as even demo unit are named SM-N9005, GT-i9005 is galaxy S4 Lte Model. The SPEN is another pointer about fake.

Glad to see the Wolfson is confirmed!
Some more new information.
The A57 cluster is now 9mm^2, whereas the A53 cluster is 2.9mm^2. The Mali T760MP8 GPU cluster is 18 mm^2. Total area 78 mm^2, down from 113 mm^2 in 5433 in Note 4. This is a whole new silicon compared to 5433.
This was the 20nm 5433 block.
Compare this to new values as we see a very substantial reduction. Korean source speculated it's SOC + DRAM and Modem + NAND packaging.
WSJ reports not all S6 have same LTE modem, some models also use Qualcomm (9x45?). So this can be dependent on network/country.

Will Chuwi HI13 2IN1 Tablet PC Kill Surface Book For A Better Choice?

Right now i believe most users and media have been attracted by CES in Las Vegas, 2017, because i am also a fan of CES, and fond of unknown electronics. Yesterday, i have read some tech sites to know Chuwi will attend CES to release and show Chuwi HI13, which is the new year flagship, better and powerful than Chuwi HI12, but previously, i have guess this new tablet pc should call Chuwi HI14 according to their naming practice. It proves I was wrong. You can check this thread that i created before about Chuwi new tablet, i am also doubtful it should be Chuwi Lapbook 14.1 Notebook, so i changed the title from Chuwi HI14 to Chuwi Lapbook 14.1. Please forgive me for my wrong judge. Anyway, i have seen the Chuwi HI13 real photos before and know the main specs you may be interested. Check details as follow.

Here are some detailed specs:
1. 13.5 inch 3000 x 2000 resolution 3:2 ratio screen.
2. Intel Apollo Lake Celeron N3450 CPU + Gen9 Graphics 500 GPU.
3. Windows 10 Home operating system.
4. 4 GB DDR3L RAM + 64 GB eMMC ROM.
5. Detachable keyboard + Stylus pen support.
6. 2.4Ghz/5Ghz Dual band Wi-Fi + Type-C Port.
But my point is that in terms of design, it looks like Surface Book so much, do you detect that?
So i think Chuwi HI13 can replace Surface book in the design and price, how about you? I like to choose competitive and affordable electronics.

I had just bought this. I am wondering how I did. Sometimes I make good decisions, sometimes I miss key things. This "might" be the same as the Xtrons unit, I am not sure.
Any thoughts?
Any requests when it comes?
.
Im looking for minimalist design without buttons.
Others like Atoto have good performance but they look horrible.
Please review when you receive it
I bought a mekede unit from mekede official store on aliexpress
It was described as Android 8.1
It's not, it's actually android 6.0
They have not replied to my messages and unfortunately I didn't figure this out until after the buyer protection time limit had ended.
Thanks for the reply. It came two or three days ago. Maybe even four. I haven't really planned on firing it up and testing it out yet. Probably because I have not wanted to cut any wires, or make any commitments until I am sure of how I want to use it. My dash is a real pain to open. The bezel is four or five feet long. I should probably hook it up and install it, just to try it out. The last Android I bought three years ago was suppose to be Android 6.0 or what ever the latest was. I still have the sales receipt. It was loaded with Android 4.4.2.
Mekede either assembles these or just purchases them directly from somewhere else. They wanted extra time before shipping it because a supplier had not shipped "something". I was thinking they had just sold unbranded Xtrons units, or vice versa. I already left feedback... just like you did. Perhaps I should try it. Which I am not sure how to do off a desktop power supply without cutting any wires. I might actually just throw away the whole Android part and hook the face plate up to a Windows/Linux computer instead. This way I can choose my own hardware. I actually tried to cancel this order because there was a much higher resolution screen available for half the price. With some minor installation work, it would have filled the two din dash hole perfectly. At least for my truck.

Please help me with buying android radio for RAV4 mk3 2006

Hi, I am looking for android radio for my RAV4 from 2006 (usa version) and I need to please you to answer me if the components are fine/good, because I have a terrible headache when reading about all these processors, chipsets, amplifiers and etc. I know that some parts are kinda old.
I have chosen for now this model:

but I am not sure about the quality of the product.
This radio has got 64 Bits Octa-Core PX5 RK3368 Cortex A53 with 4Gb Ram and 64Gb Rom, TDA 7850 DSP Amplifier and NXP6686 radio module. Is there any components that are "must-have" in android radio?
I have got to spent about 265 dollars and prefer to order it from Europe. I am looking for the radio looking like this because others have a more modern look and may not quite fit with the RAV4 dashboard. However, if the components in modern-looking radio will be better and it will be much better to buy this modern-look, I will.
Thank you so much for any of your answers.

Okay so first you wanna make sure it is a MTCD or MTCE unit when looking at MCU. If not, I probably wouldn't bother. What you want to do is to buy cheap, install Malaysk mod and as a result, you will have a unit that is on par or better with the most expensive ones out there ($ 1,500+ price range).
If you are not interested in tweaking or modding your unit but rather want something that works of the shelf, don't buy anything but branded Androids like Kenwood, Alpine, Sony etc.
