Hi, I am looking for android radio for my RAV4 from 2006 (usa version) and I need to please you to answer me if the components are fine/good, because I have a terrible headache when reading about all these processors, chipsets, amplifiers and etc. I know that some parts are kinda old.
I have chosen for now this model:

but I am not sure about the quality of the product.
This radio has got 64 Bits Octa-Core PX5 RK3368 Cortex A53 with 4Gb Ram and 64Gb Rom, TDA 7850 DSP Amplifier and NXP6686 radio module. Is there any components that are "must-have" in android radio?
I have got to spent about 265 dollars and prefer to order it from Europe. I am looking for the radio looking like this because others have a more modern look and may not quite fit with the RAV4 dashboard. However, if the components in modern-looking radio will be better and it will be much better to buy this modern-look, I will.
Thank you so much for any of your answers.

Okay so first you wanna make sure it is a MTCD or MTCE unit when looking at MCU. If not, I probably wouldn't bother. What you want to do is to buy cheap, install Malaysk mod and as a result, you will have a unit that is on par or better with the most expensive ones out there ($ 1,500+ price range).
If you are not interested in tweaking or modding your unit but rather want something that works of the shelf, don't buy anything but branded Androids like Kenwood, Alpine, Sony etc.

Go to AliExpress and find yourself one of these (or equivalent):

Search for "Polo mk4" and make sure the model fits your car.
I would post some links, but as a new member here I am not allowed to yet (spam prevention).
I'd rather spend some extra money and get the newer more "expensive" models, with better prosessor, more RAM and Android 8.0 tho.
These will fit flush in your Polo mk4, no fascia needed.
Happy shopping!
Do u recommend this unit?
I found this u it online seems to be good to me but not proper i to specs an stuff, does this seem like it could last for quite a while an still be alright. I know the octacore is good if the cores are good enough and rgb of ram is great but is the processor good? Also buying from aliexpress an being in the uk will i get custom charges. Thankyou!!

I don't have this unit myself, but a similar one fit for Golf mk6. Very responsive and nice resolution on the screen.
You will have to expect custom charges when ordering from AliExpress, yes. But sometimes the sellers write a lower value on items, somteimes not..
You might want to check out Xtrons, Chinese manufacturer, but they have a UK-based store as well (if you want to avvoid customs). They have a player fit for Polo mk4, but it's £299 tho.
Still, that's cheap considering all the features you get.
You can search on Joying website:www.joyingauto.com,the VW unit is plug and play

I had just bought this. I am wondering how I did. Sometimes I make good decisions, sometimes I miss key things. This "might" be the same as the Xtrons unit, I am not sure.
Any thoughts?
Any requests when it comes?
.
Im looking for minimalist design without buttons.
Others like Atoto have good performance but they look horrible.
Please review when you receive it
I bought a mekede unit from mekede official store on aliexpress
It was described as Android 8.1
It's not, it's actually android 6.0
They have not replied to my messages and unfortunately I didn't figure this out until after the buyer protection time limit had ended.
Thanks for the reply. It came two or three days ago. Maybe even four. I haven't really planned on firing it up and testing it out yet. Probably because I have not wanted to cut any wires, or make any commitments until I am sure of how I want to use it. My dash is a real pain to open. The bezel is four or five feet long. I should probably hook it up and install it, just to try it out. The last Android I bought three years ago was suppose to be Android 6.0 or what ever the latest was. I still have the sales receipt. It was loaded with Android 4.4.2.
Mekede either assembles these or just purchases them directly from somewhere else. They wanted extra time before shipping it because a supplier had not shipped "something". I was thinking they had just sold unbranded Xtrons units, or vice versa. I already left feedback... just like you did. Perhaps I should try it. Which I am not sure how to do off a desktop power supply without cutting any wires. I might actually just throw away the whole Android part and hook the face plate up to a Windows/Linux computer instead. This way I can choose my own hardware. I actually tried to cancel this order because there was a much higher resolution screen available for half the price. With some minor installation work, it would have filled the two din dash hole perfectly. At least for my truck.
Hi! I'm completely new to this as I just bought an old VW transporter that has this brand new, presumably Chinese, presumably Android, car radio device installed.
The documentation is scarce and I don't even have a name or reference for the device anywhere. The only "technical" part they mention is "how to change the boot logo" and they don't even give the proper 4 digits code to perform the change. Haha, I'm far from installing a clean Android on this
Could someone please help me figure out what is the device and guide me to the first steps of "jailbreaking" it? (USB key? Unmountit and plug it to my PC?).
Once I have this, promise, I will find my way on Google and try not to bother you too much
Please find a picture below, with the unique info screen I found.
Thanks a lot for your help!

Just by the looks of it this is ancient.
Looking at 4pda thread - it's Win CE and 7-8 years old. Get a new Android unit.

Thank you!.. even if it is bad news I just paid 160€ extra for it when I bought the car and I can't send it back. What Android unit would you recommend?

First check to see if there are any dedicated units for your car model. A dedicated unit will have the adapter frame and correct wire connectors, making the installation a lot easier.
Second, look for 6 to 8 GB RAM. Currently , the best units use the UIS 7862s octa-core processor and have QLED IPS screens. As for brands, I'd say go for a JOYING unit, they make good units and also have an actual customer support.
I have a choice of two models for my car which integrate nicely.
1. Owtosin official Unit: Owtosin Official Unit link Either with
PX6 with 4GB of ram and 64GB rom (743$ shipped canadian)

}
or
SD665 6GB of ram and 128GB rom (840$ shipped canadian)
There is also addons (wireless android auto/carplay + 40$, DSP (20$)
Cost is pretty significant for this unit for a Android based unit.
2. Heregoes Unit: Heregoes Unit Link with UIS7862 (8GB of ram and 128GB rom) for 590$ Canadian shipped.
There is a 300$ difference between the two which is significant. No doubt the Owtosin Official unit looks to be higher quality but I am not sure it is worth the difference in price.
1. Can anyone tell me if there will be a significant difference in day to day usage? I don't plan on doing much more than Waze, Spotify and may a DVR in the future with it. No watching movies or playing games here. May even just use Android Auto 90% of the time!)
2. Can anyone comment to the output sound quality? I have the bose sound system in my car which sounds great and am getting the Optical Fiber connector (included in both prices I quoted) and want to make sure I get decent quality sound. Not a snob but wanna make sure my OEM subwoofer etc work which are all part of the Bose system.
3. Can anyone comment to the sound quality of Bluetooth audio calls? I am willing to spend extra to ensure I have GOOD quality bluetooth calls at all times in the car.
4. I plan to connect it to an AHD backup camera. Anything to look out for with this?
5. I can't seem to figure out how many USB connections the UIS7862 based system has. Can I use a USB head one day if needed?
Happy to hear people's responses and see if I am on the right track and make a decision!
Pic of my gf with the car (it's actually her car!!)
Also quick follow up question I noticed.
The lower priced unit comes with TDA7851 and the higher quality unit I can purchase a bu32107efv.
Honestly just using the OEM bose system I think I really won't notice a difference especially since it will be 100% spotify streaming audio!
Hi All, OEM radio died and looking into Android HU. ~2 yrs back was curiously shopping for Boison (PX6) but 2yrs is a lot of time. BTW, they are rebranded as KCBoison but I get the sense they've stopped improving and just selling old stock.
I'm now seeing Andriod units with "advertised" Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 chip (not sure if this is Gen 1 or Gen 2) with DDR5 RAM.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 vs Snapdragon 8 Gen 1: Year-on-year improvements amplified by better efficiency
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is the latest iteration of Qualcomm's flagship chipset, but how good is it really?

I know it is tricky b/c there are a bunch of cheap stuff out there and too many generic names to differentiate vendor (rebrand) vs manufacture. It also doesn't help most listings do NOT list detailed specs such Radio chip, Amp chip, DSP chip, etc.
Does anyone have feedback, thoughts, experience on this Forefeel (poorly translate name) D5 unit (QCM 6-128G DVR) for $293.31 shipped? It is a full kit with bezel and wiring harness. For +$30 more, I can opt for 4 camera 360 view system (QCM 6-128G 360), which lists Sony lens (sounds too good to be true). I'm in contact with the vendor to see if I can get more specific specs. So far, they provided image of the back of the unit and confirm it is Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 chip. While I don't like slim tablet housing, this comes with a built in fan. Interesting to note it has optical outlet (#13).
-Qualcomm Snapdragon 665
-6G RAM (unclear but think DDR5 with Qualcomm units and DDR4 for others)
-128G ROM
-1280x720P (9")
-Wireless Carplay/Andriod Auto

KCBoison's product specs look dated but I LOVE they actually list ALL spsecs AND show what the back of the unit looks like! They seem to be the few that had single DIN housing instead of slim tablet housing (bad for summer heat dissipation) for 9" units.
