I tried it for a few times and I do quite like it over the PocketWakeup, due to its (travel alarm) nice looking interface. However, I went back to PocketWakeup anyway. Reasons:
(1) Travel alarm does not include a vibrate feature
(2) There is always a thread/process of travel alarm running at the background, which I'm not sure if helps on my slow Charmer processing power and/or the battery life.

I'm using that now and I always press the stop button on accident. So its not working out...
This is a good alarm & its free, never let me down yet. http://www.freewareppc.com/clock/alarmclock.shtml
Don't know of any new ones. I use the alarm from MortPlayer. It is very basic, but does the job. I can use my MP3 as the alarm. I had it fail once because my phone didn't recognize my media folder on the storage card. It wasn't isolated to MortPlayer so I can't blame it on the program.

Yep, I've used that one too and have no complaints about it. It seems to work pretty well and has never let me down either.
I have been using MTUX AlarmX for a couple years. It isn't quite up to date (doesn't support landscape for example). And it's pretty basic (no MP3s, no repeating alarms) but then the interface is also simple. It is easy to set up to two alarms, alarm sounds, End or Snooze an alarm. I periodically try other programs, but always come back to this.

The forum, you search.
For `alarm` you will, and a solution you'll find.
Sorry if im being stupid..... The only posts i can find point to installing a thrid party application, which i wouldnt mind doing its just that i need to get rid of this alarm sounding at 5:30 to keep my sainity!
Am i missing something?
Cheers
Download Memmaid and find the notification for the alarm that is going off and then delete it. This should take care of your problem. I had the same thing going on and this was a straight approach to effectively removing the phantom alarm.
Hmm. . specific I need to be.
This thread you go. 3rd post you read.

`CheckNotifications` free-program you install.
Problematic notification on your specific time you look for. Kill it you will.

Alarm app??

Hey the ****y alarm sucks on our tmobile mda (us) and they dont play mp3s sorry for posting for help altho i have already looked and checked the ftp but i didnt know where to look or what its called. so can anyone direct me to the app? or a registry hack to get mp3 suport on the stock alarm? thanks in advance and i really like the site its very nice. good to see so much support
i use ptravelalarm for that.nice UI and can play mp3 file. i have to change the alarm sound every now and then before my ears get used to the sound and ignore it
or else, you might want to try pocketalarm. both application cost you some penny though
isnt there any freeware for an alarm
http://www.freewareppc.com/clock/wolfclock.shtml
this program is an alarm that can use mp3's
but it is kinda ugly and bulky... i removed it shortly after installing it, but your taste might be different than mine.
if you manage to find something else, post it here cus i too would like an alarm that plays mp3s
Try Mortplayer. While it is a music player, it has a simple alarm on it that can made for daily, weekday, or each day use. It doesn't have multiple alarms for the days of the week, but like I said, it's alarm system is simple.
Curious D, I have mortplayer but does the app need to be open in order for the alarm to go off? Or can I close it?

Here is another that i just found, it is in french, but once you figure it out, it works well

Can close. I have my phone on standby with the volume off and it will go off on time with the volume turned back on. It will not turn on the volume for the phone, just the system volume. You can set the volume level for the alarm too by setting the preamp and volume on start up.
damn im having no luck here. i used to have an MPX220 that i had to hack the registry (add a few lines) for MP3 support for the alarm sound, but i figured my MDA would already come prepared for it

Here's a free reliable mobile alarm app that plays any MP3 you choose. I've had this app on my 8125 for over a year, and it's always been dependable, even if you soft reset before the app takes effect. This can be stored anywhere you like...just read the read me file for instructions.

Alarm Doesn't Work!

Using Enom's or Cy's ROM...(with the Nextheme and Goodies)...the alarm doesn't go off at 530am!
Anybody know if it's the ROM itself or the Theme+Goodies? Or do I need to experiment myself? (I've experimented with setting the alarm to go off an hour after I set it....it worked...but not sure if it worked because I was playing with the phone at the time)
All I get when I wake up is the trackball blinking. I've read somewhere that the alarm turns itself off after an hour...but I wake up around 5 minutes after the alarm was supposed to have gone on.
Good thing I used a backup alarm...otherwise I'd be in deep Sh------------it!
My alarm didn't go off today, but did yesterday. I have the clock as ignore in my task killer.
What I have found is that my ringtones somehow get lost on the SD card and not played. I am not sure what is happening!!!
Not cool though.

If you use any sort of task killing application and do not ignore or exclude the clock, it will kill it, and your alarm along with it.
Problem is that I ignore the Clock.
But when I go to check the Alarm Ringtone, and press play, it doesn't play anything, just a VERY LOW beep. Worked yesterday, nothing today.
Very odd!!

I like to push the audio files to the system and into it's corresponding folder. Maybe you can try that.
For me...I totally forgot about task manager! I never thought of it because the Alarm Icon is always displayed on the notification bar next to the time...whether the clock is killed or not. I guess I'll find out tomorrow morning after I exclude the clock app from being killed.
Kind of makes me wish the Android 'stole' some stuff from the Blackberry.
Can you explain that a bit more? How would I do that?
Will Astro work?
I honestly think it is an SD issue and yes, I never had that problem with my blackberry. They keep the ringtones on the system memory and you never have to worry about it.

I'm guessing that it will only work with a rooted phone. (Mine is) This is what I use. Root Explorer. I take the files from the SD card and move it into the system/media/audio/alarms directory.
Not sure if Astro is able to access the root of the phone. Otherwise I guess you can use
adb push alarmfilename.mp3 /system/media/audio/alarms
Either way you do it...reboot the phone.
Got it, and done, thanks.
Will see if this works.

Phone calls won't mute even with setting on Asus zenwatch2 selected

Hi everyone,
I have done a search on the forum and have not found a thread that is similar to the issue I am having. I recently bought an asus zenwatch 2 and after hours of extensive research I think it may be a known issue, now I am posting to see if people have found a way around this or an app that can do it. Basically, I understand that Android wear watches receives notifications based on what the phone receives. If phone is on silent I wont receive any notifications either. So here are a few questions I have:
1) I have mute phone notification setting on my Asus zenwatch 2 selected on the android wear app, However, this does not apply to phone calls, if I get a phone call it will not mute the ringtone and will ring on my phone. Is there a known solution or an app that can stop this?
2) Is there a way or an app to separate the notifications setting so that the watch and phone can be controlled separately? Something similar to Pebble method of notification settings?
3) I was wondering if there is a face designer app that allows you to customize watch faces with unlimited widgets on the watch face, instead of just 3? Is there one that is compatible with wear mini launcher?
Cheers!
1. I use Tasker for this. I noticed that option didn't work for me either.
2. I don't know what you mean by this but you can set the notifications for every app in the application notifications settings menu on the phone and block apps from the android wear setting.
3. Try the Watchmaker app.

Thanks Jahciple,
Still learning about tasker, but it seems like it is a saviour for android users, I'll definitly look into it, thanks for the idea. Will I need to root?
In regards, to the second question, I meant is it possible to be able to control the notifications separately from the watch? Such as having the phone on silent and the watch still vibrates? Or say, having the watch to silent and the phone on vibrate? hopefully this makes sense.
Yep, found watchmaker and am using, definitely what I need.
Cheers!
I don't think there is way to control the notifications like what you are stating. I used Tasker to just turn off the vibrate on the phone when my watch is connected through bluetooth and then just put my watch in theater mode when I don't want to receive anything on the watch at the moment, but once you disable theater mode, you should still see the notifications. I really wished there was a way to turn off the vibrate on the watch, I just want to hear my phone, when a call is coming in and then look at the watch to see who it is.

Hi Jahciple,
Are you able by any chance to show me what profile/action you set up to achieve this?
Cheers!
