I have a 2013 MacBook Pro 9.2 that came stock with 4GB and I want to push it to 32GB and replace the 250GB disk with a 2TB SSD. Is this possible?
These are both answered for every model at https://everymac.com/ultimate-mac-lookup

If it has only one RAM slot, 8GB is probably the limit of what it can use, depending on the CPU microcoding and CPU is being used. If it has 2 RAM slots, 16 GB is probably the limit depending on microcoding and CPU.
You can always try 32 and see if it works, all that can happen is it won't boot, removing a stick would probably allow it to boot.

does anyone know if the universal will take the new 8 gb sd cards that are coming out. cause i hear that the new 8 gb card will be a different format than the current 4 gig cards. im acheing to buy the 8 gig but dont know if it will accept it at all
"Pretec 8GB SD card is fully compliant with SD 2.0 (SDHC) specification with access speed up to 20MB/sec. The maximum capacity of SD card is 2GB under SD 1.1 of Secure Digital Alliance (SDA) specification; however, by using file format of FAT32, many SD 1.1 host devices can use 4GB SD card which Pretec pioneered since 2005. SD 1.0/1.1 uses traditional “Byte Addressing” scheme which limits the maximum capacity to 4GB while SD 2.0 adopts “Sector Addressing” scheme which is the same with the technique applied by Mu-Card Alliance in 2004 to reach the maximum capacity of 2TB (2048GB). Pretec is one of the major founders and main contribution member of Mu-Card Alliance, who joined force with MMCA in June 2005 (www.mmca.org/press/Mu_Card_Final.pdf). With capacities of 2GB, 4GB, and 8GB, Pretec 8GB SDHC is now available for key customer sampling at unit price $299. Mass production is scheduled by Q4/2006."
I would love to know the answer to this - as I am very highly tempted by an 8GB SD card I've spotted for sale somewhere, my 4GB card is nearly full...

I read around a little throw the internet and was pointed to some Universal reviews and they all tell thet 4GB is possible and 8GB as far as it is available. So I think the chance to get it running is at 80%
Take a look here for info:

SD-HC is a new standard, not compatible with the SD 1.1 standard that maxes out at 2Gb. SD 1.1 is what the Universal uses. The 4Gb cards you are seeing use a 'loophole' in the specifications.
In other words: 4Gb is the maximum you will see for the Universal. And no, this cannot be remedied by a driver update, as the SD controller is embedded into the ARM processor (AFAIK).
Hope this helps...
So, the Transformer uses 1 stick of DDR2 RAM which is 1GB. I'm assuming it only has one slot for RAM anyways. But I know there are 4GB DDR2 sticks available. So why couldn't we manually do it? Sure, the thing seems more sealed shut than a laptop/netbook... So anyone know what speed the RAM is?
Sure, 1GB of RAM is more than enough for Honeycomb, but I'm thinking ahead; when Windows 8 is available, when we can run Ubuntu natively, and of course do other crazy, thought-provoking things.
You can never have enough RAM!
Wow that sounds like a really good idea.

Memory is soldered to the board. Memory requirements for Android and Linux are far less than those required by Microsoft OS.
I am almost 100% certain that you cannot upgrade the RAM in the Transformer. With most modern mobile devices the ram module is directly soldered to the motherboard and not intended to be replaced.
Tf does not use a memory stick, but a module soldered to the board. In addition, the processor / OS may not support larger RAM space.

Oh shoot that is right as well. Tegra 2 can only support up to 1 gig of RAM.
Remember that old fail technology that was called intel turbo memory? Well I decided to take a old 1gb module I had laying around and stick it into my alienware m11x's second mini pcie slot. I installed the drivers in windows 7 compat mode and formatted the visible part that looks like a 500mb hdd as fat32. I then set it up as a dedicated ready boost drive just to see what it would do and BAM after a little bit my lappy became nearly twice as responsive and super fast to boot up with windows 8.
I dont know why it worked this good for me but it did.
I thought I would share
I do have 8gb of ram as well
Hmm interesting... I have a 4GB turbo memory unit in my laptop which has been idle / set as disabled since I upgraded to an SSD..
I have a 2gb Intel turbo memory... Gonna give a try...

wont the performance on a USB be slow ?
If I get the 5G plus with 64 GB of storage, and install a custom rom. Will I loose the additonal storage or keep it.. I'm thinking on getting the one with the 64 GB internal storage and the 4GB ram. Thanks
custom roms are generally smaller than stock roms, so you will have extra space if you completely remove the stock rom
Personally, I was less concerned about the storage (especially because we have a microSD slot!) and more concerned about 2 GB vs 4 GB RAM. Ultimately, the 2 extra GB of RAM is what made me get the 64 GB version, and I would say that the additional RAM is without a doubt worth it and noticeable coming from a 2 GB LG G Flex 2.
Well finally got my phone. Picked it up at Fry's electronics for $199. It's the 64gb version. Once I play with it a few days, I will have it rooted. One thing I notice no volte with stock. Or is it Sprint controlling it, once it was activated on their network.

In Europe we have a 32GB\3GB ram with adaptive memory.
It's not that bad with a Samsung PRO micro SD since you have three slots, two for nano sim and one for micro SD.
So strange lenovo sell a 2gb version...
hey guys i have got my acer nitro i5 2021 model with intel i5 11gen gtx 1650 and 8gb ram and i relized 512gb storage is not enough and i found my old dead acer notebook from years ago and it a 1tb hard drive in it i took the drive out of it but the hdd has windows 10 os on it and is it good idea to put a hard drive with a os on it in my laptop or should i get a hdd tool and format the hdd and with the ram if i upgrade my ram do i need to reset the pc to get the ram working???
Before u do that check the old HDD health first (u can use HD sentinel), if HDD health below 80% then better to leave it alone. And about the OS, formatting HDD is the best option in my opinion.
