Hello, can anybody help me? I have a Android Head Unit 8259 *i don`t know brand) everything work perfect exept original Idrive menu, if i try to switch to original menu the screen is black. I`ll try everything (update the MCU, firmware, add the cable for ground on the LVDS cable) but nothing help, the car jog work on android perfect, when i switch to original screen the jog works in the original menu and if try on blind i sucsess switch to aux but the screen is black and i didn`t find any method to fix this problem. Try to write to few sellers for help but nothing. Can anybody help me please?
P.S other issue is after my mistake input 9191 service code and now have a red text "activation code does not match" is there any way to fix this issue too?

What should appear here? Car specific and maybe can bus related data? Maybe can setting is not correct or the head unit is not supporting your car?
What's the sellers suggestion?

You need to ask your seller. They can provide a Lincence.dat file you need to put on the root of head units file system.

The unit is a gift from my friend and he byed from some random seller in my country, he reject to help me, i try to ask a few sellers in AliExpress and alibaba who sells this type ot head units with this 8259 processor but they answer me with nothing helpful for me.

Got a unit from China, seller name "UmeCity" on Aliexpress. Bought the unit for 207$ which I assume is pretty good for what I got.
However, I'm looking for rooting my device and unlocking some the features that is locked today.

Been looking at pages like http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Generic_Android_Head_Unit and http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Hui_Fei_Type , where the hardware specs seems to match but not the default launcher or anything else. Seller tells its "Allwinnertech Android 4.4.2".
My main goal is to root this device, but I do understand its a good start to identify which unit it is from the beginning. What info do you need further more to be able to identify my head unit? If you need more screenshots or anything, please let me know.

The YT-video of KingRoot seems really simple: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FW4bZ8Q20Jg , however. If my unit does not work to root, will it just give me an error message? Is it safe to try it out, will it commit any other changes to the system except giving access to system files and so on?
Also, found this Russian site (used Chrome translation) which seems to be pretty similiar hardware. It also states KingRoot should work, but not 100% sure it's the same. Also the CPU-Z tells me I got ROOT access, but the apps I tried says I do not. What does that mean?
Anyone with information is highly appriciated!
Thats a Tonghai 2nd gen. I have the same and there is a good thread here. Just use kingroot apk

Alright, tried the KingRoot apk and went for root... with success.
mine its not from UmeCity but its the same hardware. all probably made in the same factory in china or hong kong. do you have difficulties with gps locking sattelites?

Not that I've noticed. I got assisted GPS with 3G if that makes any different.
hi, i have this unit from "umecity" 8" screen without buttons, only white capacitive tuch buttons on left side of screen, for
207 dollars is very good, gps is working great, i'm using Here We Go maps.
But who knows will it be any update on android 5.0 or 6.0, maybe i should send message to seller and ask.

i recently purchased a truck that had this headunit it it, previous owner said it didnt work well - as far as i can see the sound works very intermittently, perhaps playing for a second, then nothing for 5-10, keystrokes when typing on the keyboard to play, and you do hear the music briefly, so i know it has the potential to work. perhaps it just needs firmware? can anyone guide me as to information on this? what common unit it it based on? what firware can i flash onto it - if any?

ive tried reaching out to pumpkin and had no response, and it wont let me force it to reboot with pressing the RST button followed by the "middle button" for two short presses and then a long press uuntil the menu appears"
it does have an SD card inside the unit, which i have seen it advised that they use this to force an update?
anyone lend a hand?

I dont know what it is I m afraid, but it DEFFO is not and MTCB or MTCC unit.
Maybe someone else will be able to identify it.

I would read through the Android Headunit General forum and see if you can see any with the same info in the settings/about device screen as yours.

I'll have a look again, but I did scroll through for a good time and didn't find anything, seems like this is an uncommon variant of pumpkins devices.

Actually there are no Pumpkin devices, Pumpkin are a seller, they buy from several different manufacturers and sell as their own.

Hi all something that had been bugging me and cant figure out after countless hours of research and fiddling with this head unit is they key lights on the left side. They light up but when I open factory settings with "8888" code it gives me a message saying "please open the debug button key lamp lights" can anyone help me with this?

Me too I have the same problem and I can't find de Debug button! I try to set the right color and reboot my unit... Same thing! I cant find how!
Lemme know if you find anything out man theres no videos anywhere I finally went to ask seller maybe they know hopefully keep me updated and I will do the same

Hi same issue here, I bought a crappy Silverstrong that works well and I have 2 from LEHX which don't. I contacted them with the answer that it can't be changed.
The Silverstrong has a Android 7.1 and LEHX 8.1. My conclusions are that they can't support this feature with 8.1.

Same,anyone knows how to switch between backlight on and off ? I know the illumination wire does that but is there a quick switch button ? Because if there isn't, it is a big face palm.

Ignore the message and deselect "open light" to turn LEDs off during day. In my car they still turn on with the car lights.
And stop trying to change colors in the cheapo units. Only in the higher end ones you will find real RGB LEDs.

But he’s giving me the Alpine to throw in another car so he got this new one

Using a separate app to push audio through USB output it works but I want to get android system sound to go through
That way radio Bluetooth and all other sounds are pushed out

"rk3368_user debug" - this is the designation of software update you might look for.
It is most probably on Russian PDA forum. Find & download right software and update device. It might fix the problem. That is one solution.
I'll study more when you get this pic of that radio menu.
P.S. What version of android is it and is it PX5 or PX6 chip?

I am new to the forum. I just bought one of these Android 12 radio unit for my Mercedes GL450. Everything is working so far. I get the original car interface and I get the Android side with the AUX input.
The only thing that I can't figure out is how to have it auto switch to AUX when I go to the Android side. I have googled and seen that other units can do auto switch but there are auto-aux switch setting that needs to be changed. The seller only gave me the 8888 password and that doesn't seem to have that setting.
Anyone have any idea if this is possible? Is there another password for more detailed factory settings?

Please consult with your seller first, explain your situation, he will be more helpfull than searching on your own for hours.
I have this exact head unit for BMW. My code (8888) works when I hit thr settings button on the home screen, then I click factory settings and enter code. This is separate from the android settings. Oh, and I had to switch to AUX in the ORIGINAL OS, so change it to the Mercedes screen (mine switches when I hold the menu button down for 3 seconds)
