I have this device and when I try to add an apn, it writes me stop settings that supposedly delete the file from the settings. I would appreciate it if someone could help me add an apn in another way or fix the settings file
(I want to add that I don't have that much knowledge about it, so if it is possible to explain in precise detail what and how to do)
Thank you very much everyone

I am wondering where the password information is stored for the cingular gprs settings. I am not asking how to enter the settings into the dialogues, rather where in the registrythe password info is stored.
I am aware of the settings located at these two locations...
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\ConnMgr\Providers\{7C4B7A38-5FF7-4bc1-80F6-5DA7870BB1AA}]
and
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Comm\RasBook\My ISP GPRS]
Exporting/importing these restores everything but the username/password info. What I am trying to do is save the settings so I will be able to more quickly restore them after a hard reset, which I do often because I am constantly playing with different roms.
or... is there already a premade cab file that will install the needed settings including cingular's generic username/password?
and for that matter, where is the password stored for activesync? After I import a reg file I have on my phone, I have all the activesync info properly entered except for the password.
I realize these are one time items to have to enter, but it would certainly make system rebuilding go a bit faster...
I hope you managed to get this far into this rather overly verbose essay.
found it.
hell yes:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\Security\CredMan\Creds]
I am cool.
Okay, the question I have then is how did you figure it out, and more importantly, how do you know which key is associated to which connection?
Some crappy registry snapshot program
It is called ssnap, that coupled with a program called idiff, I was able to discover changes made to the registry after doing something (check/uncheck something, enter a setting, etc...)

If anyone knows a better program than these rather primitive monsters, please let me know. I am looking for something similar to installwatch for the PC by Epsilon Squared.
Those settings did not work anyway. That was definately the location where the settings were stored, but they must be coupled with something else. I was able to install and uninstall the username/password by setting/removing those registry entries, but after a hard reset, they did not work anymore.
It is a bit annoying to set up "environment" settings each time i clean up registry, so i am searching a way to backup registry settings (i believe those settings are there?). Does someone knows which registry keys apply to those settings?

I am not sure about MMS/gps settings in registry. Definitly Email setups are not stored in registry.
I am using a method where I created a cab file with all my MMS/EMAIL and GPRS setups and included it in my extended ROM.
I published a method to create cab file for email setups sometime back. Search for my posts.
If anyone is intersted I can publish details for GPRS and MMS.
Maybe it's possible to use SettingsSavior:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=308100
or sth linke PIMBackup or similar?
I am trying to find two things:
I run the HD2 on ATT. I dont need the settings, cause I already have working settings. What I am trying to find out is:
1) Where in the files, is the setting to change the MMS limit, and before you point me to the setting on the phone, thats not what I am talking about. on ATT the limit is 600k, but on the phone the Max I can choose is 300K so I want to know where is this info located and if its easy to change?
2) Can anyone tell me what in the kernel controls the data / MMS settings? The reason I have tried different kernels and the only two kernels that work are DFT on their released rom, and Projections, if I try to use M-DeeJays kernels, my MMS fails to send or recieve, so can someone tell me what module or what file I need to replace?
Thank you.
Anyone?
I found a thread about changing MMS values, but it only works for SDCard Android, not NAND, so again, anyone have any input? Members? Dev's? Fixer's? Anyone?
Again ANYONE have a CLUE?

i cant help with the 600k part, but i can say that i use cyan nand rom, and the mms settings are screwed for my provider, first i have to go in and select the correct active data account, then remove two duplicate but erronous default/mms accounts, that think theyre for my network, but dont work, and prevent the almost-but-not-quite-correct real data / mms ones from working, , then i have to alter the username to get them working, and the new settings dont work till you reboot, and you forget and test it and think its not working, and tear your hair out screaming till the missus tells you to grow up and get rid of that damned phone for the love of christ!
my point being its probably not an actual fault as such with that release, just the APN settings that are created that interfere with each other..
Actually no, the APN settings are exactly, I mean EXACTLY, I have 1 apn setting before updating the kernel, and after its the same apn setting, I triple checked and all the values are the exact same.
Mind you I am on ATT's network using the phone in 2g, which shouldnt make a difference since the apns dont care what network your on.
I called sprint and got my msl, but when I try to change my apn settings to get free hotspot the option for my apn settings is not clickable so I can edit it to add ,dun. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
The last Sprint OTA locked these settings. There's no way that anyone has discovered to edit them now. Some have reported that if you turn on tethering as soon as possible after the phone reboots it will work, even without changing the APN settings.
Add new APN?
I understand that it is no longer possible to edit the current APNs with the update. Is it also no longer possible to create and add new APNs?
Hey,
it seems Wear OS doesn't allow you to change the APN settings, which is kind of a weird omission.
Do you know of any possibility of changing the settings, possibly using adb?
I've tried to do research, but I haven't found any way besides an old Wear OS 2 method which possibly doesn't work anymore and requires root and editing some internal database on the watch.
Currently cannot get a data connection because my network requires custom APN settings.
I have a similar situation. All I could think of was Send feedback in the Watch app on your phone to let the developers know about your use case and need for manual APN entry.
