Hi
Recently installed an Erisin Android head unit in my Mercedes. Unit works well. I updated the firmware also. Running C2DN firmware?
Problem is I can't get Android Auto to start on the head unit. I connect my Android phone and then go to Android Auto app. The phone recognises the head unit, but no Android Auto splash screen on the head unit. (The one with Maps, Spotify icons etc).
I installed Android Auto on the head unit via an apk file, but still no go. Is there a different version for head units compared to the one found in the Google store?
I tried a different USB cable but as I thought, that didn't fix anything.

Android Auto app from Google Playstore is only for the phone.
Usually the head units have pre-installed the required app. You should ask your seller how to activate.
Yeah, that's what I thought. I will look deeper. Thanks!

Has anyone tested the compatibility of Headunit Reloaded Emulator on Android head units? Not self mode but actually connection the phone via USB (so basically allowing AA).
I'd like to run AA on my HU, but also like to have multiple other apps installed and use offline navigation without my phone sometimes (Sygic).
I've looked into Joying head units, but I'm not sure which one would be best suitable for the job (Intel? PX5?).
Hi,
I have just installed a Dasaito 7 inch head unit running Android 9 into my Jeep Wrangler. Everything is good except Android Auto, when I try and install the App from the Play Store onto the head unit I get an error telling me that the device is not compatible with this version.
Has anyone solved this issue or can help?
Thanks.
Hi,
I'm going to be buying a 2nd car (2013 VW Tiguan) but one thing I know I will miss from my current car is android auto. I have looked into various head units but the most cost effective head with a large display is an android head unit. The joying 10.1" looks good. I have a question about internet connectivity though. When I plug my phone in via USB does it automaticlly use that as a data source or do I have to set it as a hotspot for the unit? Equally can I use android auto on the head unit or do I have to use Google maps that's already installed and Google Play Music apps on the actually unit?
Many thanks
Some Android head units are Android Auto compatible. Look for that in the item description. If it doesn't say it is then assume it's not.
For me, I have to use my phone as a hotspot to get data connectivity.
My unit is not Android Auto compatible (Android 9). I get along with it ok but wish I had done more research prior to purchasing.

Hi everyone-
Looking for some help here; I sifted through the XDA forums a bit to see if there was anyone else with this issue but could not find anything. Apologies if this has already been answered.
I recently installed a Dasaita PX6 unit into my car with Carplay/AA. Carplay works fine with iOS and the zlink that came with the unit. But when I plug my Android device in (that's on Android 11), it does not work. Zlink stays on that "Waiting" screen.
My Android phone is giving me that notification "Android Auto is available. Continue on your car screen" but there's nothing to "continue" on.
The current zlink version is 4.0.2 and I cannot uninstall / install a new version of it.
Any details will help
I had the same issue and found the latest MCU update and bingo works now Zlink is at 4.0.32 and I get Wireless Android Auto
I currently have GrapheneOS installed on my Pixel 7. GrapheneOS doesn't install google play services as root so Android Auto doesn't work. I am hoping to mirror my phone at my Head Units screen resolution and control my phone from the head unit.
I have an Atoto Android Head Unit so I can install apps from the play store.
I am familiar with CarBitLink-EasyConnection but I cannot control my phone from the headunit. It only mirrors the screens. Also the screen resolution is off.
I am willing to root my phone if such an app exist. Any suggestions?
One thing you could try is enabling the hotspot feature of one of the devices (either your Pixel 7 or the head unit). Join the other device to the hotspot, then on the phone, install and start Droid VNC-NG and on the head unit, install VNC Viewer
Once Droid VNC-NG is running on the phone, enter the phone's IP and the port that the app is running on into VNC Viewer on the head unit. It should mirror the screen onto the head unit and allow for touch control, but I'm not sure if it will be responsive enough to be worthwhile.
You might honestly be better off just tethering your phone to the head unit and installing Google Maps/Spotify/whatever else you use Android Auto for directly on the head unit.
