I have the option in developer mode enable to allow bootloader unlocking, when I type 'fastboot oem unlock' I get a screen asking me if I want to unlock the bootloader but when I select yes, nothing happens. I tried using the official site (https://en-us.support.motorola.com/app/standalone/bootloader/unlock-your-device-b) but it says my device is not available to be unlocked even though I have the option enabled.
Can anyone help me?
Motorola doesn't allow carrier varients to have unlocked bootloaders, so you need to find another way. I have the same model and I can't figure out how to unlock the bootloader

Go to settings
Developers option (if u dont find it go to about phone and tap 5-6 times on build no )
Then u will see the developers option in the settings
Enable oem unlocking and also enable android debugging
This is the main reason behind it oem unlocking is disabled

Did u activate oem unlocking also??
In the bootloader, what are the two lines under the green "Battery OK" line? Should be something like...
Device is LOCKED. Status Code: 0
Software status: Official
Also please attach output of 'fastboot getvar all'
its mentioned under battery ok line.
Device is Engineering
Software Status: Official

You can't unlock an Engineering status bootloader. Your device was repaired and shipped out incomplete, not the first one we have seen... You need to contact Moto support, there is a thread in the official forums about this bootloader state, it's kind of a partial unlock but it's uses for factory flashing in a different way than we do it.
I was searching for a method to unlock the bootloader after updating to nougat but i couldn't find any.
Any android version the bootloader unlock method is same. check the forum for newbie thread to unlock your bootloader.

You can get your unlock code from the Motorola website: https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/standalone/bootloader/unlock-your-device-a
As the website mentions, this will void the rest of your warranty once your device is unlocked, though there are reports on XDA of people getting their devices serviced even after a bootloader unlock. Your experience may vary.
Also, I'd recommend toggling OEM unlock on - you can get to this by going into Settings > About Phone, and tapping 7 times on the build number section. Go back to the main Settings menu and you should see Developer Options has appeared. Go into the Developer Options and scroll to OEM unlocking, and toggle it on before you boot to unlock your bootloader.
So the method would be:
1 - Toggle OEM unlock in the Developers Options
2 - Follow the Motorola website instructions to unlock your bootloader
3 - Wait whilst it wipes your data
4 - Boot and enjoy your unlocked phone
Good luck!

You need to check your driver to recognize the device. With the command "fastboot devices" there you should see your devices serial number. If not = driver, cable, firewall problem or your device is not in fastboot mode
Ok guys new to this device I went to Moto site to get unlocked bootloader and it's says it can't. I attached a screenshot is there any work around for this?

Did you by chance purchase the Amazon-exclusive variant of the device (with the ads to reduce the price)? They're both the same, except you can't unlock the Amazon version's bootloader.
Also, try opening developer options (tap the build number 7 times, press the back key, and then the new developer options menu that appeared) and then enabling the "OEM unlocking" option. Then try unlocking the bootloader again via fastboot.
So, some months ago I unlocked my bootloader, I just did it because I knew that the huawei bootloader unlock site likes to go down when you need it the most. And now I want to install twrp. But I cant use any fastboot commands in adb. OEM unlock button is off and greyed out in dev options. And since the unlock site is off right now I can't relock it.
Any suggestions?
EDIT 1: Ive just tried removing the google account and the factory resetting with recovery but the OEM but is still greyed out even when no account is associated
In Android 7 (EMUI 5) OEM Unlock is always GREY even if its unlocked.
Do you remember your unlock code?
If yes, just use Service ROM to reset everything including lock your bootloader and then try to Unlock the phone again.
Service ROMs: https://forum.xda-developers.com/p10-lite/help/original-service-rom-huawei-p10-lite-t3688097
If you don't remember your code you can send email to UK support and within 2-3 business days you will receive your unlock code.
Send this to email [email protected]
- Your Full Name
- Phone Model
- IMEI (*#06#)
- Serial Number (*#06# or *#*#1357946#*#*)
- Product ID (*#*#1357946#*#*)

So if "OEM unlocking" is enabled in developers options my bootloader is unlocked? Do I still need to get some unlock code from huawei? My device is WAS-LX3. I'm new to huawei and don't have a clue about this.
Boot into Bootloader and you will see two rows
Phone status (Bootloader status)
FRP status (OEM status in developer menu)
======
Phone Locked/Unlocked/Relocked means that your Bootloader is Locked/Unlocked/Relocked (Relocked means manually locked by you and it's almost the same as Locked which is factory locked)
FRP Lock/Unlock means that OEM status is Disabled/Enabled in developer menu.
======
In oreder to install TWRP you must have status Unlock on both rows.

My bootloader is locked. Thanks!
I seen the recommendation is to turn USB debugging and OEM lock off under developer options to play fortnite on our device with magisk. What I was wondering is with my bootloader unlocked, which it is, I can uncheck OEM lock, but would it be okay after a reboot? I just didn't want to uncheck it, and then get stuck or not be able to boot. I was curious if someone might have tried already. Thx
By the way for anyone wanting to know, I turned OEM unlock off w/ a unlocked bootloader & device successfully booted up with switch still in off position.
