So I've searched all over the forum and find this issue coming up time and time again for a variety of devices: Music and video volume is brilliant, hardware in this device is working great, however in call volume is really quiet to the point where the caller can hardly be heard, even on headset or speakerphone its just too quite even with all the levels turned right up.
I'm using LineageOS 19 official ROM on my SM-P615. Now a lot of the threads I've found for other devices (could not find one for this device) are either unanswered, or have found a solution editing mixer_paths.xml and/or mixer_gains.xml but I cant find the sections referenced in other threads in my xml files, presumably because those threads are for other devices.
Can anyone point me to the correct file/section I need to be editing? Or have any other idea?
Many thanks in advance

u can play around with SPEAKER_UPLINK_VOLUME
&
RECEIVE_UPLINK_VOLUME
Not sure what hex to change to but do a search based on the 2 keys.
More will unravel after a search.

My HD2 speakerphone is still way too loud even on the lowest setting, it distorts and sounds terrible. Is there any way to lower the volume further, any hacks or tweaks? Thanks chaps!
It is .. use search function. It was discussed two days back or so.
I have spent about 2 hours going through every thread and despite a registry hack being mentioned, someone else then said it doesn't work. Is there a definitive fix for this? I can't use the speakerphone and it is a massive requirement for me.
Anyone? This is a real deal breaker for me.
I think you need to be looking at a file called AudioPara.csv.
It apparently contains lots of audio settings, so it's not an easy registry fix.
Have a look through these posts and see if you can make any sense of it. I've never tried to be honest, but I've been happy with the settings on the phone thus far.

Good luck!
No doubt I'll get flamed for asking a question that must of been asked before. So I apologise beforehand, but I searched and couldn't find the answer.
I know it's known the Android volume is lower than WinMo, does anyone know of a way to increase it? I don't have issues with in-call volume. Just media volume like YouTube player and the Music Player.
Thanks in advance for any helpful replies.
I am also encountering this volume problem. Also when I recorded a video, the quality was great, but the video volume is extremely low. Hope someone out there has a fix. Thanks in advance.
i would also be interested in finding out about this, at least someone reffer to us to a link and help us find the answer please
Looks like the problem is common to Android in general. The most promising info i found that somewhat made sense to me was this thread.

But I can find the files... make one of the cooks can make sense of it.
Bangsters lastest has the best volume I've heard yet.. haven't tried the other CM based Roms though I'm kinda hooked on this one.. just need to update my sig
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
i think it is a general android issue , my x10 also has the same issue
What's wierd is that I know it has the potential to be ear-splitting, but android just limits it for some reason. Sometimes when I first start playing music, The sound will absolutely BLAST for like half a second, and then 'corrects itself' down to a much lower volume.
I'm hoping they crack this nut soon too. The volume on Shubcraft is *okay*, but I still find myself turning it up as loud as it'll go. I have a pair of Hello Kitty headphones with a volume dial built in to them & they're really good for boosting music volume. For anyone who's having a problem with media volume, I suggest getting some headphones like this(not necessarily HK-branded lol).
Thank you all for the replies, at least I'm not the only one who was wondering. If it's just a general Android issue then I'll live with it, use headphones perhaps like someone suggested (not Hello Kitty though)
I have noticed though, with the game Paper Toss, the volume is loud. However when I use the YouTube player or Music Player and I find it difficult to hear at times. Unless I'm in a completely silent room. Doesn't make sense if It can go loud, why it doesn't. Or there's no App to boost the volume, that I can find anyway.
I'm posting this in General because I'm not the author, I just found it and it worked for me.
Many of us have an issue with the N7000 where audio at a very low volume is cut to silence. This can irritatingly interrupt quiet music or videos; anyone who has watched the Walking Dead on Netflix with headphones on has probably noticed it. I have observed this behavior across all ROMs I've used since 4.0. Near as I can tell, this appears to be an intended feature to reduce hiss or other unwanted noise from the audio hardware, but it's a little too zealous. The workaround is to force this mechanism not to activate by constantly putting a loud enough sound through the system; a sound we can't hear.
Method 1
An apk someone made and posted to a google board that has worked around the issue for me.
This works even better if you have a method to make sure the service starts on phone boot.

Please thank the person who made the apk if it helps you.
Method 2
XDA user Djezpur came up with another fix that works as well or better that the one above.
In Tasker, I just created a profile to play the file on loop whenever headphones are plugged in and screen is on.

Please thank Djezpur in their post if this method works for you.
Thanks for this answer.
There is a patch that fixes the problem for my N7000 with OmniROM:
github.com gustavoss android_kernel_samsung_smdk4412 commit 3019675d57c4046c30f82d04ce41913150df0d6e
(Sorry for the distorted link, as a new user I am not allowed to post links yet...)
The question is: How to get it into CM, OmniROM, and co.?
Also see:
jira.omnirom.org browse OMNI-561 ("Sound cuts off at low volume playback".
Kind regards

This is great. Thanks!

PS: It has been tweaked in OmniROM.
Hey guys,
Im wondering if anyone knows what value(s) to change in default_gain.conf or mixer_paths.xml in order to increase the bluetooth/media volume since my new heaphones are not loud at all. Ive changed practically every value pertaining to normal headset in default_gain.conf and bt-sco-headset under media output volume in mixer_paths.xml but to no avail. Ive searched and searched but cannot find any instructions pertaining to this specific model and it seems to be different than the the other Samsung models which people are having success with.
Im not comfortable flashing zips from unknown sources when its not difficult to edit a few files....Can anyone help me out and point me in the right direction? TIA.
