Mogul will not play file as an alert??

Hello all. I have a wav/mp3 file that I'd like to use as my new message alert. When I select the file from the file explorer on media card, the file plays fine. However, when I assign this same file as the alert file, it will not play? Any thoughts?? Thanks folks!!

did you save it in the ringtones folder in My Documents?
Tried it; didn't work. Also, I'm using other files as alerts that are not in the ringtone folder successfully?

Evo notifications

I use to use root explorer to move special ringtones into the notification sounds. Since we don't have a sticky recovery the ringtones are not staying in that folder after a restart, is there anyway to push ringtone files through adb into specific folders that are read only?
I can't help with commands to force it into that folder, but I do know a way you can get them to show up as options for the notifications sound.
Create a folder named "media" on the root directory of the SD card. Inside of that folder, create one named "audio". Create a folder inside of audio, named "notifications". Place any mp3 files you want to use as notification sounds in this folder, and they will appear as options.
So thats:
/sdcard/media/audio/notifications/song.mp3
Hope this helps!

[Q] bug in refreshing folders

Hi,
I have add a picture in a folder -of my Sdcard but when I tried to assign this picture to a contact, the picture was not appearing. I had the same problem
with Mp3 files. New ones are not appearing except after a full reboot.
Of course the new files were really in the folders.
How can I refresh my HD without having to reboot it?
Thanks
Daniel
I have found the problem:
When I am handling files with the file manager "Root Explorer", it doesn't refresh the files and folders until remounting the SDcard. With Astro File manager, it works perfectly.

[Q] renamed folder to .bak

So I renamed a folder on my SD card to ".bak". The folder disappeared completely as soon as I changed it. I named folders .bak on my jailbroken iPhone to hide stuff and never had any issues. Anyone know how to get my porn back?
A file name starting with a period or full stop ("dot file") is by definition a hidden file.
Use a root aware file browser and ensure that it is configured to display hidden & system files. Or use the -a (display all) option on the command line e.g. ls -la
.
Thank you sir! I had to set ES file explorer to read hidden files- the setting tab is somewhat hidden. got them bak.

[Q] Shutdown .ogg file name?

Trying to add shutdown .ogg file to my S5. It doesn't have a stock sound and the only file I found was "shut_down.ogg" in the ui folder but that file doesn't play on a shutdown. Anyone know how to add audio to the shutdown animation?
Nvm...added PowerOff.ogg file to ui folder and it works now
