Finally, a new unbrickable phone since the OnePlus 9! I'm so excited.
Do you need to disassemble the phone to enter EDL mode?
WIll this work in the lovely "press any key to shutdown" state?
Anyway thanks for this post!

EDL probably doesnt allow flashing to those partitions, you could try reading the userdata and metadata partition tho i guess

allow, but a modified oeminfo, devinfo, or may be abl.img needed, reflashing oeminfo.img or devinfo.img relock the bootloader, you can flash twrp on locked bootloader by following some tricks
stuck here someone help
not able to boot to edl mode
Maybe stupid question on my part; What exactly does this flash? Obviously system partitions, but does it also contain a full NothingOS installation?
EDIT; derp, it's explained in the original post.
Is it recommended to flash our own partition backups anyway after recovering?
Will all sensors work after this unbrick?
EDL cable V2 won't allow you to use EDL. I haven't tried it, though.
If you have 900E out there, you can update that with the 9008 driver and it will be recognized.

I was able to connect with Hydra V2 EDL cable.
It would be more efficient than the test point...

There are a few types state of brick of the phone. Let's review two of them:
1. “Softbrick” - the state when the system is not booting, but the PC recognizes the phone as “ADB Device” and the phone can boot to bootloader mode. This state is like a baby's runny nose and can be healed by the simple reflash using RSDLite (the tool avaliable for everybody), or by reflashing the parts of firmware via fastboot.
2. 'Hardbrick' - the hard case that needs a lot of work and knowledge. Sometimes hardware intervention needed in order to fix the phone (test-point contacts closure, battery disconnection, etc). Sometimes the phone could not be repaired without motherboard replacement.
We'll review the phone recovery after the second type of bricking.
The phone in “hardbrick” state is recognized by PC as:
- “Unknown device”. In this case you need to install the Qualcomm USB drivers on PC by hands from the attached file "Qualcomm_USB_Drivers.7z" (download it and unpack to any path you want). The phone will be recognized by PC as “Qualcomm HS-USB Diagnostics 9008” device after the driver's installation. Sometimes it is needed to disconnect the phone and to hold the power button during 20-30 seconds to recognize the phone.
- “Qualcomm HS-USB Diagnostics 9008” (nothing happens when you press the buttons on the phone). No needed installation driver's in this case.
The PC will see your phone as shown on picture.

Then the wonderful utility “TURBO-UNBRICK” comes to the rescue. This is a small program but it makes a great job.
Unpack the archive that includes the utility, connect the phone to PC and run “go” file. And you will observe that your brick will become alive! You will see the next picture at your revived phone's screen:
It's almost a win but you need to make some more actions.
Put the files gpt.bin, radio.img, bootloader.img (also attached), to the “C:\adb” folder on your PC and run the next commands in the command line:
Code:
fastboot flash partition gpt.bin
fastboot flash radio radio.img
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader.img
fastboot reboot
Now you can enjoy! Your friend is alive and greets you by its bootanimation. In that case when you've broken the firmware and the phone is not booting after the bootanimation, you need reboot in bootloader and reflash the firmware by RSDLite.

have you tried the mot dev manager? that should detect a brick and set back to factory. rsdlite could also be used
This happened to my phone and I tired using the TURBO-UNBRICK you provided, but it gets to 'flashing singleimage' and I get 'Target ERROR: 7 - Open multi failed, unkown error FAILED (sdl-transfer-image:send-image:sdl-open-multi:target error)
My phone bricked after I started the Lollipop update. No idea what happened. I started the update, went back to work, checked half an hour later and phone was dead. Any help would be great, this is the closest I've gotten to getting it fixed.

Anybody tried this tools for xt1254 ?
will this work if i bricked it after installing 5.1?
I did everything descripted in this thread, but my device keeps rebooting (I can hear the USB disconnecting and reconnecting) and still shows up as a QDLoader in device manager. Plus the screen is still black. Any toughts?
Edit: is this singleimage (msimage_901_0228_0000) right? Usually it's a .bin file, but this one is a .mbn

Hello,
I was on B336 and wanted to root it. All good, I followed the steps, and accidentally wiped cache&dalvik... Bootloop. Then I tried to downgrade to MM... No success... After that, something told me to wipe system, data, Dalvik, cache, everything except for Internal Storage, phone storage... I tried then to flash EMUI 5 beta 336... It didn't work. I tried then to flash Meticulus TWRP instead of Revolution TWRP... It did not work... I tried to dload MM stock, it did not work...
I'm stuck with:
-No OS
-Revolution TWRP
-Meticulus TWRP doesn't boot
Is there anything I can try to get it booting or I can throw the phone into the garbage bin?
I even tried to flash Meticulus TWRP with the RevolutionRecovery (I know, I know) and of course it did not work...
If you are with no OS
flash via fastboot system.img boot.img cust.img and recovery.img using app extractor
I don't remember the exact order (yes, you must flash them in a specific order)

Found the order:
- Fastboot flash boot boot.img
- Fastboot flash system system.img
- Fastboot flash cust cust.img
But I can't understand the part about app extractor. Can you explain please?
There is an app called app extractor (you can easily find here in the forums)
You put your Update.app file (the one you should put on the dload folder) and the app extract you these files
After you flash them via adb
I had your problem and solved using this
(Sorry for my english)
@diorenzo Ok, I got it, I extract from the .APP file with Huawei Update Extractor. What should I do next?

Tried two times with no success... I'll try switching ports.
Sounds similar to what I had. Take a look here.
The solution in brief was:
1. Go into bootloader to flash recovery (I used Revolution Recovery)
2. In recovery, flash OEM info.
3. Then used the 3-button method to install stock version for the appropriate model (which I could see from OEM info).
4. Unlocked bootloader, triggering a factory reset. (I was stuck in infinite boot before this point.)

I tried lots of solutions that worked to many people, but anything thats online was useless for me, even the solutions with hardware...

Does it include a function to resize system partitions?
If I get to flash it with the bootloader locked.... Will I be able to further flash any ROM without unlocking?
Can I also flash TWRP with MiFlash?
Regards

Not Recommend to modify anything before unlock bootloader
If you just do without modify anything except /data/, it will be fine(try it without flash it)
This Recovery is for Mi8 SE(SE,NOT MI8), and THIS recovery doesnt have a function to resize system partition
you can flash mi8's twrp recovery without unlock(technically,NOT SURE 100% SUCCESS) flash it via recovery(boot the recovery ,and flash recovery in recovery )
You can flash any third party rom Until you unlock bootloader (or flash modified bootloader like this (not let you flash this))
You can flash any recovery via MiFlash(in fastboot(not sure) mode or in 9008 flash mode),it will not check your files(NOT SURE it will boot successfully)

First you use
fastboot boot [recovery file]
to boot recovery(now the phone goes into recovery)
then use the recovery(you booted) flash the recovery fileinto your phone(you selected recovery file will replace the stock one)
TECHNICALLY, it will successfully flash in and work fine(not fine for miui's ota)

bootloader must be unlocked
Hi,
I've installed an ota update and the device didn't boot... it is stuck in a bootloop....
When i try to flash via fastboot, it appears an error saying that the device is locked ant cennot erase...
via fastboot oem unlock i get the error message: Remote: oem unlock is not allowed
via MiUnlocker the unlock gets to de 50% and gives an error and on its logs it says: Remote: oem unlock is not allowed
I tryed to flash TWRP with command fastboot flash recovery but the error is the same: remote: partition flashing is not allowed
Can anyone help me please??
I'm stuck on the bootloop i can't go to setting - developer - allow oem unlock option!!
Have you tried doing a Factory Reset from stock recovery?
This is a strange behavior, even if an OTA update corrupted the system for some reason, the phone should boot from the original slot.
Have you tried switching slots manually from fastboot ?

How can i do that?
Hello!
I've faced the exact same problem yesterday.
You need to force the phone to boot in EDL mode by opening the back cover and short circuit 2 pins as shown in THIS video.
After you have the phone in EDL and being detected by your PC (you need the correct drivers, you may get them on THIS thread by @CosmicDan), you may use MiFlash Tool to flash official PIE Rom, access developer options and enable oem unlock to be able to unlock your phone again.
If you wish to revert to Oreo, please use THIS guide.
Cheers!

Actually you have a recovery. You need to long press the power button and, afterwards (not at the same time), press the volume + button. You'll see that all options will appear.
