Samsung released a new version of WatchON called WatchON Plus, that is basically the S5 version of WatchON, compatible with the Note 3 and Galaxy S4. http://www.androidpolice.com/2014/0...axy-s5s-revamped-watchon-ui-galaxy-s4-note-3/
Problem is... no one is able to download the app outside of the US (Device not compatible, blah bla blah)
Can someone install the app and provide us with the APK? It would be awesome!
Here's the link on the Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...utm_source=42matters.com&utm_medium=WidgetWeb

I am not so convinced that the new US-only version will start without some tweaking but I think that story is somehow interesting - has anybody tested that new version?
I'm not sure how this could be useful for anyone outside US, even if it was made to work. First step is to pick up zip code and choose your provider, after that you have nice tv guide with list of programs, either by topic or channel, you get option to install netflix, rent pay per view movies, some link to youtube videos and basic remote control. When properly set, you can pick the movie to watch, point at tv and it sets the proper channel on tv. Without proper programing, that won't work outside US, so what am I missing? I have a program from my cable provider (FIOS) that at least let me watch some of the channels on my phone, useful when kids watch their programs on main tv. Watch on plus has connect to tv option, but it does not work with my tv, so I'm not sure what it does, but I think you guys are better off with app designed for your local programing.
BTW I have original watch on on my Note as well and it seems, they're 2 separate programs and don't exchange any info or data, had to do full setup for each.
how resourceful does one need to be to find something on the internet? i mean, google has made the internet idiot proof guys?
it takes more time to open a thread and maintain it rather then just searching around, please dont take any offence, but this forum was meant for at least people with intermediate attention and knowledge to technology, especially for what you own.

EDIT:, ps, since you've noticed the fragmented versions, there is a Smart Remote as well, same GUI, then theres PEEL, same GUI, they dont differ at all, and now u cant even add a 2nd TV, stupid.
I've got a couple of questions about watch faces, just out of curiosity.
When is the watch face API supposed to be available?
Currently, the only way to get new watch faces is to install an app on your phone, which then syncs the new watch faces with the watch. Is that going to continue once faces developed with the API become available, or will there be another way to install them?
Thanks
I believe the update that brings the official watch face api, GPS, and other new features will start rolling out on October 15th.
Hi everyone, I am very interested on the MT-08 smartwatch, it is the only under $100 Smart Watch which has NFC (read/write) and also has a Gyroscope, but the downside is that it runs android 4.2, I can find no information about this watch, does anyone know if it goes by another name??
My second question is since the smart watch above has a gyroscope and all features needed to run pokemon go, has anyone tried getting pokemon go to work on a smartwatch? I do not have a smartwatch to try which is why I am asking here.
I really want that mt-08 watch but there is no information and I really want android 4.4 or 5.1, and the NFC is honestly a really cool feature.
Hello everyone! I purchased the "Inchor L16 Smartwatch" - otherwise known as "Incomm L16" - or even "Docooler Smart Wristfit".
Look on Amazon for "Docooler Smart Wristfit" or "Inchor L16 Smartwatch" and you'll see the price range is roughly $23 - $35.
The watch is very inexpensive, very slim (my favorite attribute), and has decent functionality. However, I know this watch has got to be underutilized! It can do much more, I'm just sure of it!
This app is required to manage watch is called "Wristfit"
I would like to know how to go about modding the watch, maybe putting a different OS on it, or somehow providing additional functionality. For example, I would like to see text messages read out to me. Currently, the only useful information that is read to me from my phone is the caller ID.
Where do we begin?
So I just got my first smartwatch, a No.1 S9. Love it, but I'm still learning everything it can do.
One thing bothers me, though. No.1 suggests the use of the Fundo Wear app on my phone, which works, but doesn't let me swap watch faces, and constantly keeps a notification box (saying "SmartDevice Connected") on my phone's lock-screen.
Alternatively, I know I can use the Mediatek SmartDevice app instead (and it lets me swap in new watch faces).
Is there any real reason to not use Mediatek instead of Fundo Wear? I'm not really interested in tracking how many steps I take a day, or how well I sleep.
For that matter is there a third (fourth) contender that's compatible?
