Hello, good day i use Samsung Galaxy s2 i9100 phone,i have install CM11 on it sometimes ago which has some bugs with camera unable to work which i have to remove it and install the current rom on it now is jellysnap 4.3 .

Now i tried to upgrade to Resurrection Remix Lollipop Rom 5.1.1,but each time i try to flash the rom here is the error i always get.
(Warning: No file_contexts detected filesystem ext4 for /dev/block/mmchlk0p9)
I thought the current CWM recovery which is v6.0.1.9 is not supported by Lollipop rom which i now install the current CWM recovery which is v6.0.4.5,after that i boot to recovery and Wipe Data including with Cache and Delvik now proceed with the installation of the Resurrection Remix lollipop rom 5.1.1 through the sd card, same error occur again.
From this point i don't know what to do again that's why i posted it in order to get special advice from the expects.
My friend overseas recently got the new Galaxy A5 (SM-A5100) from China and asked me for some help rooting her device and installing the google play store.
Unfortunately I've never used any Android devices before so this is a whole "first timer" situation and would gladly like some help in understanding the best and least risky process for rooting this device.
This is more or less what I know at this point after hours of searching online:
1) CF-Auto-Root is probably the easiest tool for someone with no experience rooting.
2) Unfortunately a CF-Auto-Root for this model has not been made yet.
3) The boot and recover images from the firmware are required to make the CF-Auto-Root.
I think I found the version of the firmware from samsung-firmware.org and have extracted the image files. Hopefully this source is credible. I'll upload the files later using mega if that's fine?
[NOTE: so apparently I can't post links yet since this is my first post, welp. Will update later or try to PM it instead if that works.]
Here's the information that I have from my friend's device:
Samsung Galaxy A5 (2016)
Model#: SM-A5100
Android Version: 5.1.1
Baseband version: A5100ZCU1AOL5
Kernel version: 3.10.49-6418683 (Mon Dec 14 18:59:12 KST 2015)
Build#: LMY47X.A5100ZCU1AOL5
And here's the information about the firmware I have according to the download page mentioned earlier:
Phone: Samsung Galaxy A5
Model: SM-A5100
PDA Version: A5100ZCU1AOL5
CSC Version: A5100CHC1AOL5
PHONE Version: A5100ZCU1AOL5
Region: CHC
Country: China (Open China)
Build Date: 14.12.2015
Changelist: 6418683
OS: Lollipop
OS Version: 5.1.1
Is there any other information I need to get to request the CF-Auto-Root and how/where might I find it? Or am I completely going about this the wrong way?
Thanks in advance!
You can try the kingroot app. http://www.kingroot.net/wap
You can indeed try kingroot, just tried it without luck..
Any luck? I just got my A5 (2016) and I desperately need to root!

CF Root does not support SM-A5100 as of the moment same with King Root. However if your sole purpose of rooting the device is to install Google services on it , then there is no need.
A5 2016 has many version and varies depending on the country it is being released . The SM-A5100 phone kit is the A5 2016 version release for Mainland China and Hong Kong SAR.
Since your friend purchased the phone from Mainland China, the Phone will be configured without Google in it as Google Services are not allowed at that Country. The good thing is that you don't need to root the Phone in order to install Google Services . All you need to do is download a Stock Samsung Firmware for SM-A5100 that is configured for HKG.
Take note, you need to flash the stock Firmware configured for HKG and not for Mainland China. I can see from your post that you have downloaded the Firmware for Mainland China?
These are the things you need :
1. Stock Firmware for SM-A5100 configured for HKG SAR
2. Samsung USB Drivers
3. ODIN Flash Tool
I assume that you already know how to flash a Samsung devise using the ODIN Flash tool , if not here are the basis steps
Extract (unzip) the firmware file
Download Odin
Extract Odin ZIP file
Run Odin
Reboot Phone in Download Mode (press and hold Home + Power + Volume Down buttons)
Connect the phone and wait Odin detects it.
Add the firmware file to AP / PDA , insure re-partition option is NOT ticked
Click the start button and wait for the process to finish .
This should work as I have gone thru the same process .
All the best

I'm not responsible for you doing something wrong...
Make sure you download the correct stuff...
Warranty WILL void during flashing (samsung KNOX will get triggered :/ )
Needed:
1. Download odin on pc
2. Get the latest twrp recovery (or cwm) for that specific device
3. Download the universal root package down below (this package can be used for any device and will install supersu itself...)
Process:
1. Copy the supersu update zip package to your phone's storage
2. Enter download/odin mode
3. Startup odin and connect your phone to your pc (I recommend using the original usb cable you got with the device ?)
4. You should see a text in the odin log saying "added"
5. Add the twrp package in the AP slot in odin
6. Go to options in odin and deselect auto reboot
7. Hit start
8. It should start and on your phone you should see downloading
9. When done immediately reboot your phone into recovery (or your phone will delete twrp and replace it with the original again... thanks samsung ?)
10. Click install and search for the supersu package (INSTALL IT) (DON'T LET TWRP ROOT YOUR DEVICE)
11. After installing reboot system and you are done

Please I have a Samsung A5 2016 with Chinese mainland firmware but with Android 6.0.1 Will this method still work?? ?
Hello every one
I have bought a Note 4 " SM-N910f " from ebay and when I tried to root it ,I have found that the version of the bootloader belong to another Note 4 (910p).
about device
Model Num: SM-N910F
Android Ver: 5.1.1
Baseband V: N910FXXU1COH4
Build Num: DONGCHAO.A929
CpuZ
model : Samsung Galaxy Note 4 (SM-N910F)
Bootloader :N910PVPU4COG5
Kernel Ver: 3.10.40-5303209(N910PVPU4COG5)
Build Num: DONGCHAO.A929
Odin mode
product name : SM-N910P
current binary: samsung officiel
system status : officiel
reactivation lock off
Knox warranty void : 0x0
the ticket on the back also show the same thing as ''About device''
but when I cheket my IMEI in ""imei.info"" it tell me that my phone is a galaxy s6 edge !!!!
the same IMEI in both (back ticket & software (#*06#))
so what should I do?
because I can't root neither flash a new firmware
Can I relace the bootloader by the one of N910f ?
(I have only try to flash the firmware of N910f ,I did not try n910p firmware's because I am afraid if I succeed I'll finish with locked network phone)
thanks a lot
have same problem. did you succeed to resolve the issue?
I realised that someone has been changing "Sprint Note 4" to look like the international version.
so I decide to install the latest stock rom ( downloaded from sammobile)
Now I am so glad because I didn't get any problem.
I don't Know how but a Note 4(n910c) IMEI was restored not an IMEI of n910p according to "Imei.info"
Hotspot and Network unlocked including LTE
Hi, I am having the same problem as you.
Can you please give me the rom that you used? And which odin version did you use?
thanks.
what version is the modem? when the moden is from n910p too then its a n910p spoofed as n910f. that can be done by changing backcover and mount a sim reader and it works like n910f. so you have a n910p mainboard in it with changed imei with jtag box

Do this only if your bootloader is a N910P**** (Use CPU-Z to check it, you can download it from the market)
You must have a least 60%
You should remove your SIM card
I've used the latest rom from this link.
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/60440/N910PVPU4COJ6_N910PSPT4COJ6_SPR/
I assume that you've already installed Samsung driver
and that you have the latest version of odin v3.10.7 and that you're familiar on how to use it
but before you proceed you have to :
1- Instal a custom recovery (Twrp)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...nt/tool-utility-twrp-2-8-1-0-teamwin-t2915591
2- boot into TWRP
3-in advanced wipe dalvik cache
4-wipe data/factory reset
5-Format /cache
6-Format /system
7-Format /Data
8-go to advanced and reboot to download mode
9-flash the downloaded rom
wait (10-15min) until your device come to world
Now you have a fresh and clean note 4
10-check your IMEI (*#06#) in http://www.imei.info/
11-restrict data and wifi usage for the following app
Sprint ID
Mobile Installer
Sprint Zone
MyScript Resource Manager
12-Update Your System (settings > System Update > Update Now)
Because this is not the latest build You should upgrade to N910PVPS4COK1 (150mo)
to correct some issue with Google Play Store and other things
13- Update you Play Store and Google Services thru the Store
14- shutdown your device when finished
15-insert your SIM and wake up your Note 4
16-you should root it to profit
(remove unwanted sprint apps it's recommended check the forum to find them out -Use Titanium Backup pro #1 )
enjoy and wait for the Marshmallow =)

Hi.
So how to I get the phone to work? It is in a bootloop when switched on and I cannot go into recovery mode since the phone restarts itself when I try to do so. However I have access to download mode.
Also how do I check the version of the modem?

hello, how do I make sure if my bootloader is a N910P? I cannot download CPU-Z on the phone since the phone is in a bootloop and not switching on.
Before I had the problem, it was written SM-N910F in the about device of the phone. In download mode, it is written N910p and at the back of the phone it is written Sm-N915F.
If you can access the download mode, you simply flash the custom recovery and follow the instructions
you can get it working by flashing n910p rom with odin (download it from sammobile) after that i can say you how to get it again full working with a n910f rom so that you dont have anymore any sprint apps on it

after flashing sprint odin rom install twrp recovery fot it. after that download any rom for n910f and flash it with twrp and then flash a kernel for n910p and it will boot without sprint apks. so you have now n910f rom an no more sprint things

Thank you! I'll try it out soon.
I just flashed my n910p with a custom rom and it works so much better now, plus its pre-rooted. Thanks again
Hi I updated last month to latest version of our grand pRime but now I can't install twrp .
In odin it shows pass but when I open reCovery it opens normal reCovery.
I tried that battery removal metHod but it Didn't work.
I'm running lineage 14.1 with the EPG2 baseband currently on my T-Mobile N910T, and I'd like to update my modem/bootloader to the latest before flashing 15.1. Which would be the best version to use with 15.1 (that will also be compatible with 14.1 should I have to go back to my current rom)? And also, is it possible to flash ONLY the bootloader and modem without everything else? What's the procedure for this? Thanks!
Yes it is,You can find them on android filehost. After you download them boot your phone in download mode and then open Odin and in odin click on the BL button and go to the bootloader.md5 file.Click start and let it flash and restart, after that Click the reset button in Odin and select the CP button and navigate to your modem.md5 file and flash it,that worked for me and should do it for you,I hope I helped.
