Hi, after a security update my phone got stucked on bootloop and I'm trying to flash the stock ROM throw an SD card but I get this error :
( E3003: Can't install this package (Thu Jan 3 20:40:27 CEST 2019) over newer build (Thu Jan 2 19:59:28 UTC 2020)
so I tried to edit the update script to match the data and I tried to delete this whole line
(!less_than_int(1546519227, getprop("ro.build.date.utc"))) || abort("E3003: Can't install this package (Thu Jan 3 20:40:27 CST 2019) over newer build (" + getprop("ro.build.date") + ").");
but I get signature verification failed. and Ideas?
My phone isn't rooted and the bootloader isn't unlocked so idk if I'll ever get the phone again. thanks

your for sure its the 2012 model right... that error is saying you dont have the grouper tablet. grouper is the code name for the 2012 tablet. if your right and its the 2012 model than. i have heard of a zip being corrupt and throw that error. if thats so try redownloading the zip file. or just check the md5.
---------- Post added at 02:13 AM ---------- Previous post was at 02:00 AM ----------
if the md5 checks out or you re downloaded the rom and it still brings that error you can always do this but be sure your tablet is the correct tablet. deleting this line will allow the rom to be installed on any device without checks.
the credit for these instructions go to sammyz on android central
You do this with 7-Zip/WinRAR
Note: DO NOT EXTRACT ROM!
In the ROM go to:
/META-INF/com/google/android/updater-script
1)Open updater-script with a script editor such as notepad/notepad++ (makes things 10x easier), or gedit if you use linux
2)Delete the first line of code (all the way up to the first semicolon you see) and delete the first semi-colon as well
Do not go past the first semiclon when deleteing and DO NOT forget to delete the first semicolon.

I was having the same problem. The problem was with TWRP 2.6.3.1. I installed TWRP 2.6.3.0 and everything ran smoothly. You can download that version from here:

I just don't want to re-install all my apps and stuff again :crying:
If you are stock why don't you just sign up for the Nougat beta program and take the OTA update to 7.0 ??
That's what I did a lot easier

Hello!
I'm trying to install some new Android on my old phone j3110.
(I can install an "ORIGINAL" ROM (4 files using odin, android 5.1)... so my phone still works.)
Here is what i tried so far:
Using odin3 3.14.1
Using LineageOS 17.1 - > lineage-17.1-20200214-UNOFFICIAL-j3ltekx.zip
Using Android 9 - > crDroidAndroid-9.0-20190915-j3lte-v5.8.zip
I tested 2 versions of each ROM above: the original downloaded and a MODIFIED version, where i deleted the line about "assert" with
instructions here . I tested several TWRP versions, since this usually can be a problem. Here are the results:
twrp-3.3.1-0-j3ltekx - installed, booted, this was the error (for the 4 ROMS tested):

As you can see, the ORIGINAL versions had the "device problem", which removing the "assert" had solved this particular issue....
I always wiped Dalvik, System, Data and Cache before installing.
The ONLY thing is that i do not have a microSD right now, so the ROMS are in the internal storage of the phone. BUT, as i can install the
Rom with android 5.1, i dont know if this is a problem.
Can anyone help me? I can provide more information if necessary. Thanks!!
Most files you mentioned are originally for the SM-J320F/...
Not for the SM-J3110.
Maybe that is why it's not working properly on your device.
I found something for the SM-J3110 ... But outside of xda. And I do not know if the sources are reliable.
So if you want, search with Google and try if the rooting guide is working.
But IDK if there is a working custom rom available for your device with recent Android version.

Thanks for the answer!
I looked for J3110 several times in the past, and never found anything for this model.
Could you share what you found? Don't worry, I already bought a new phone, so my J3110 will serve only to mess around.
If I follow some unreliable guide and the phone "breaks" for good, does not matter anymore.
