your for sure its the 2012 model right... that error is saying you dont have the grouper tablet. grouper is the code name for the 2012 tablet. if your right and its the 2012 model than. i have heard of a zip being corrupt and throw that error. if thats so try redownloading the zip file. or just check the md5.
---------- Post added at 02:13 AM ---------- Previous post was at 02:00 AM ----------
if the md5 checks out or you re downloaded the rom and it still brings that error you can always do this but be sure your tablet is the correct tablet. deleting this line will allow the rom to be installed on any device without checks.
the credit for these instructions go to sammyz on android central
You do this with 7-Zip/WinRAR
Note: DO NOT EXTRACT ROM!
In the ROM go to:
/META-INF/com/google/android/updater-script
1)Open updater-script with a script editor such as notepad/notepad++ (makes things 10x easier), or gedit if you use linux
2)Delete the first line of code (all the way up to the first semicolon you see) and delete the first semi-colon as well
Do not go past the first semiclon when deleteing and DO NOT forget to delete the first semicolon.

I was having the same problem. The problem was with TWRP 2.6.3.1. I installed TWRP 2.6.3.0 and everything ran smoothly. You can download that version from here:

[Q] Miracast installation how-to (Project from Kensuke)

Hi,
The project this question is about:
Miracast on "Older" Device:
(Project can be found here: [nourl]https://github.com/kensuke/How-to-Miracast-on-AOSP/wiki[/nourl])
I'm very thankful for the work of Kensuke and his project to bring Miracast to the Nexus 7 2012 Model. I've been constantly watching it and finally its out for 4.4.2!
My problem is:
I unlocked + rooted my Nexus 7 via the Nexus Root Toolkit 1.8.0 with my current Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. I installed the "Team Win Recovery Project" but now I'm stuck on how to proceed to get the ROM from Kensuke.
Do I have to install 4.4.2 stock first or can I somehow install directly the .zip File for the "grouper" Wifi Nexus 7. A few instructions or a guide on how to install from 4.3 to 4.4.2 miracast rom would be awesome
I'm relatively new to the whole rooting scene so please be patient with me
Any help is very much appreciated!
Best regards
Halcyon

Not really an error.
I just need to know how to get from rooted stock 4.3 with TWRP to 4.4.2 miracast ROM from you.
Do I have to install 4.4.2 stock first or can I just straight go to 4.4.2 miracast from your ROM?
And how can I install your rom? I put it on my device and then?
Looking for kind of a short/quick guide.
Thanks for replying so quickly and your great work, kensuke

I redownloaded the file and checked md5 before, it didn't work because on mac it automatically first extracts your zip file. I downloaded it now without extraction and it worked! Thank you so much for your help.
Installed all google apps after that, worked like a charm!!

[Q] I9505G OTA Upgrade Fails

I rooted my I9505G running 4.4.2 bit did not replace the boot loader or the ROM. I just installed Supet-SU.
I've had two 4.4.3 OTA downloads but they fail an assert for build.prop. I've checked \system\build.prop and it if unaltered and contains the string the assert is linking for.
Do I need to unroot before upgrading? I just assumed that I would have to reroot after upgrading. I didn't expect a fail as I haven't altered the boot loader.
Yes you'll need to flash original FireWire with Odin but before proceeding with the flash run triangle away it should be ok then

FireWire? What's that? I don't think I flashed anything like that.

That page has some problems. Power+VolUp is needed to boot into recovery, not Power+VolDown. I can get into recovery and select install from external memory. I copied the update onto my sdcard but it still fails with the same assert fail
Verifying update package...
assert failed: get.prop("ro.product.device")== "jgedlte" || [...]
checking \system\build.prop I see the line
ro.product.device=jgedlte
as clear as day.
Build KOT49H.S001.131204
Android version: 4.4.2
Baseband version: I9505GUEUCML4

It's not my problem if you don't know read.
I followed Method 2. I see what you're saying now.
None of these upgrade methods worked. I still had assert failures. I removed SuperSU after restoring all changes I made to /etc.
Somehow this morning the phone failed to connect to data services. Several apps failed when they tried to access the network.
I eventually reflashed a 4.4.3 rooted image from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2772043 and restored my Titanium Backup.
OTA upgrade to 4.4.4 succeeded after turning of SuperSU and reverting my change to \etc\permissions

Update aborted

Hi all,
Was running CyanogenMod 4.4 Grouper from Dec 2013, and just tried to update to the current nightly from the device. Downloaded file OK, update started & failed saying error in the zip (status7), aborted. Anyway, now I'm stuck in the ClockworkMod recovery screen v6.0.1.0 and can't adb into the device to copy across the zip file again to reflash. Sorry its been a while so probably missing something, so any help would be appreciated.
Cheers, Dev

If you are stock why don't you just sign up for the Nougat beta program and take the OTA update to 7.0 ??
That's what I did a lot easier
