The link above is the one we bought , we didnt buy the rear camera as we thought the rear sensors would still work .
My question is this ...........is it possible to have the sensors working with the head unit at all or do we have to buy a rear camera .If we buy a rear camera do we just then get an image on the head unit but no sound from the parking sensors ? . If truth told i would sooner have the beeping from the sensors .
Bare in mind im no electrician and dont have a clue .But it is in and fitted and working on sygic satnav and i have installed DAB radio via a dongle to the cars own built in antenna not the packaged kit one that comes with the DAB usb dongle .
Im sort of bodging my way through it but the sensors look a step to far and an auto electrician is needed but i want to know if it is possible to do .
The car is a Ford Focus 1.0 petrol ecoboost 2012 reg hatch .
The sensors must have worked either through the stereo unit or the old display unit not sure which , i have connected up all the original possible connections from the car to the new ones for the android device but there is no joy so something is missing .
What does the reseller suggest when contacted for support? Has that been tried and what was the result?
Suggest consulting a reputable installer first.

Hello everyone,
i have a 2013 Ford Focus Mk3 with Sync 1 - and the Sync 1 System sucks!
So i want to buy a RNS with Android that fits my needs.
I have PDC in Front and Back and the Sony Premium Sound System with Subwoofer.
Anyone knows a Headunit wich supports this? Both Parking Sensors Front and Back and connecting the Ford Sub Woofer? Thats the Minimum that has to work.
Sync isnt a Must and the Automatic Parking Assistent also not.
Anyone that has expierience with a Ford Focus Mk3 HU and working fine Can Bus Stuff?
Thanks!!
Christoph
You have to ask sellers to confirm the features covered by the can bus

Hi i have a ford fiesta 2013 and i got a px5 from ali express and it cam with the canbus prity much plug n play aswell it build to fit all original buttons work even steringwheel control still get access to sync if you want to but i agree it sucks so i dont use it but also can access hill start and that so you can enable a dissable normal car function to door sensors and reverse sensors work they pop up on screen exactly like original so my best guess is if you got one for the focus all functions will work hope this helps
Another image so you get what i mean
Hey, i also have a Focus MK3 (ST 2013) and a few weeks ago i put out the Sony-Radio (8Speakers without Subwoofer) and changed to a "tesla-style headunit" from phoenixandroidradio.com . The Sync-Module is still connected and you can deside using Sync-Bluetooth oder Headunit Bluetooth. As factory-microphone has much better quality than the build-in, i phone via sync, rest of entertainment via Tesly-style headunit
I only have rear PDC and it works over canbus with sound and radar-image. Don't know, if front PDC and factory Subwoofer will work, i do have an active subwoofer put in my trunk and it works via rca-cable and remote-signal.
As mentioned above, please contact the reseller and ask to confirm the features.
I've only seen the Windows CE units supporting the auto park feature.
SWC work for me, open door indicators, music control, parking radar for rear sensors works for me. I don't have all the features you have so can't comment on those.
You do need to connect an external mic as it doesn't use your cars one. No connectors for the glovebox USB/aux port so that doesn't work anymore.
Never had sync on my Focus 3 but from what I've seen it is supported.
On my unit theres a setting called parking assist if thats the feature your looking for
Any opinion about RUISO ??? Thanks !

i would go for the tesla style if i buy a new one again. the angel of the screen is little annoying regarding the sun.

Was that a typo that you would go for the tesla style? Asking because i am considering buying one and am concerned about the screenangle in a focus mk3 2013.
Has anyone looked into the Ownice C600 tesla style head unit?

It looks interesting. But I am a little worried to take a dive. Anyone with experience?

Hello everybody,
I'm searching for the best unit for Volkswagen Passat B7 (year 2012) to replace my RCD 510. What I am looking for:
- Android unit with 8'' - 10'' diagonal
- Dual channel Can-Bus - (the unit should display car events: door open, AC temperature settings, parking sensors information)
- VW car steering wheel control support
- DAB+
- Good bluetooth or integration with VW bluetooth module (Is this even possible?)
I've heard about Joying, Seicane and Dasaita and I'm not sure which one is better. Your advice or suggestions will be much appreciated and welcomed. Thank you.
Best Regards
I can hardly answer your question as it stated since I only tried (and use) Joying HU.
I've replaced my RNS-510 mostly because map updates in my region are not supported anymore. Had quite a hard time with Joying, but finally have no any doubts that would do it (change) again.
My HU is 8" with HW buttons, which helps alot: being able to switch to Navi/Radio/Home from any screen is a good thing. CAN bus works OK: climate indication, doors, outside temp, safety belts, fuel, mileage, park sensors, rear view cam, hand brake status, steering wheel controls do work. I did not buy DAB+ and had a hard time with AM/FM radio reception, but changing antenna harness (both were in Joying's direct supply) solved the problem.
BT app is much inferior to the VW factory unit, especially if you do outcoming calls when driving. Incoming calls are also first identified with bare numbers, not names - it corrects on the 2nd call.
I use Huawei E8xxx 4G modem as WiFi hotspot, Joying rear cam and Joying dashcam. All in all - it's a new world which opens to you with Android HU. I could not have something like this (and much more) on factory RNS: https://yadi.sk/i/Zg1TFzHu3PDvou
You plan to abandon RCD unit, which is not a Navi system. For those like me who had RNS Navi - you are going to miss correct tunnel/no GPS guidance and correct direction in the morning when factory Navi knows right from ignition how to make proper guidance. In 3-rd party HU there is no compass, gyros and speed sensor data which are used by a navi program (speed is available via CAN, but a navi program is not aware of it, only GPS). I still agree when VW calls it's 9 year old factory HU a "premium navi".
Sound quality can not compare to factory unit despite that brand new "digital amp" (I have "D" model), but here I am lucky - all my audio interests are in FM news radio.
I also have a Passat 2012 and a Joying Sofia 8" with HW knobs (JY VL130N2).
I am generally very pleased with this combination. Everything works except for
BT indeed is not perfect.
Dasaita units also have a good reputation here. I never had one, so I cannot tell much about those...
Hello,
Thanks for response. I'm wondering if there's a specific model from Joying that's current "the best". At the moment I'm looking at:
VW 6.0 OCTA CORE HEAD UNIT PX5 and VW NEW DIGITAL AMPLIFIER AUTORADIO ANDROID 6.0 HEAD UNIT
If anyone have any other suggestions (Dasaita, Seicane...) please dont hesitate to say. Thanks.
Regards
Do not mess with "octa PX5". The second link is OK, since the part number is DE-JY-VM130N2D - just the same I have. If you have external amp, then "D" model is not recomended, take one without "digital amp" built in - like DE-JY-VM130N2.
With that choice we have a very promising perspective, just take a look here https://forum.carjoying.com/thread-1377-current-state-of-hackishness-.html

Why are you saying do not mess with PX5? A lot of users recomends PX5 because it is new and has unofficial support like PX3, so seems more futureproof than anything else right now.
Just installed dab dongle to usb on car head. Dab reception poor [my work car has got factory dab and perfect dab signal]so it can’t be the area. I don’t mind paying for a good glass aerial as the one that comes with dongle must be poor quality,,,lcheers
Whats the make and model of your car ?
All sorted now,I ditched the Chinese junk and purchased a Kenwood 7017 dabs and glass mount ,,,no drop out whatsoever ,perfect Thanks anyway
By the way the car is a Kia Sportage
I'd like to hear from anyone who has got a PX6 in their Transporter T5.1.
I bought an "SWC" / "Erisin" PX6 4GB/32GB Android 9 HU to replace my PX5. Fitted it and discovered it was not MTCD/MTCE.
I could not get my reversing camera to work with it*. All I got was a flashing "No video signal" message. I sent the HU back for a refund.
Would still like to get a PX6 but need the reversing camera to work. Would prefer MTCD/MTCE. Anybody on the forum done this?
My van is a 2014 BlueMotion 84kW TDI model. I believe 2014 models are a bit "special" electrically. I'm just trying to gather information about PX6 HUs that might work in my van.
(*Longer version: Tried triggering the HU Reversing function with: just CANBUS; with direct connection to reverse light +ve; with connection to +12v via a relay; and connection to battery +ve. (These last 3 by cutting into the wiring bundle as suggested by Chinese technician) but nothing worked. The (rear facing) camera worked perfectly when plugged into the HU's RCA DVR connector and camera now still works with my re-fitted PX5)
Hi there,
Did you make it work eventually?
Here is my experience with a PX6 on my T5 (2009) - will copy paste a post which I already wrote in another thread:
I recently noticed my PX6 unit doesn't see any of the front / rear cameras. With all wires connected the f-cam app shows the orange triangle (no signal) for both front and back cameras. The same happens if I give a 12v signal to the reverse (pink) wire.
I never got to install the backup camera in my car but I did bench tests with a power source and had the cameras working when I first got the unit. Now, a few months later, the cameras simply don't work
I tested with 2 different cameras and also with a DVD player and none worked.
I even opened the unit and checked the motherboard to see if there is a fried circuit or IC...and saw nothing. The video inputs lead to a IC labeled "FMS6502" and the signal gets to it through a 75ohm resistor and a capacitor which both look okay.
What can it be?
So these being said, I am afraid these units have some hardware issue with the front/rear camera inputs.
PS: on my Opel Combo car I have a PX3 unit with working rear camera !

My reversing camera worked if plugged into the f-cam input, but of course this is useless as you need it to be triggered by going into reverse and f-cam input is not. Atleast it meant I could be sure nothing was wrong with my camera.

I think my PX6 was expecting something special in the trigger signal. 12v DC from the reverse light did not work. Nor did 12v DC straight from the battery via a relay. The PX6 wiring loom lets you choose between CANBUS and non-CANBUS configuration. Neither of these worked. I even hacked the wiring on instructions from Erisin in China with no success (They clearly misunderstood their own wiring diagram though, so I never expected the hacking to work).
So these being said, I am afraid these units have some hardware issue with the front/rear camera inputs.

I think you are right. There is a hardware issue. I have a PX5 which works fine with the reversing camera input but the trigger signal has to be 12v DC direct from the battery via a relay triggered by the reversing light.
It was a shame because the PX6 was faster than my PX5 and the screen was brighter. But not having a reversing camera was a showstopper.
Thanks for you reply!
Regarding activation of the reverse screen, I managed to make good use of the canbus decoder box which they sent me from China (first one didnt work, them they sent me another one which recognizes the CAN messages correctly).
So the problem is that the unit doesn't receive the video signal from the camera, although it gets into reverse mode.
Moreover, the unit doesn't show the camera image by using F-Cam app either...hence I believe it is the video controller (FMS6502) that is faulty. I have to check it with a multimeter based on the specs of it...
These units are atractive but they have serious flaws in their mechanical (cheap plastics, buttons, etc) and electronic design.
Sending the unit to warranty in China is a lost cause too...
Cheers

Yes, it sounds like you have a hardware fault. For me it was some sort of incompatibility in the camera signal/reverse trigger.

My Erisin branded PX6 was very poor quality compared to my Xtrons branded PX5. The connectors and the buttons on the PX6 were very fragile.
I was lucky: the UK importer refunded my money, but only after I told them I would raise a dispute on EBay.
I've searched for my particular scenario and I haven't exactly found it. I have a 10.1" android headunit sold by Rongji listed here:
Amazon.com: Android 10.0 OS 10.1 Inch IPS Screen Car Stereo DSP 2G RAM Car Radio for Universal Car Touch Screen Car Multimedia Navigation Support Bluetooth WiFi 1Din Stereo with Mic Map Update: GPS & Navigation
Amazon.com: Android 10.0 OS 10.1 Inch IPS Screen Car Stereo DSP 2G RAM Car Radio for Universal Car Touch Screen Car Multimedia Navigation Support Bluetooth WiFi 1Din Stereo with Mic Map Update: GPS & Navigation
www.amazon.com
I've wired my reverse camera into the back of the headunit for power and the AV cable is plugged in accordingly. When my vehicle is running and I go into Reverse, nothing happens.
However I can click on the F-Cam app and choose reverse camera and the image shows while in Reverse.
Is there any way to make this happen automatically?
I've not understand the comments I've read through where some say the reversing action is managed by the headunit software not by F-Cam. If anyone can explain that would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for help, links, info.
F-cam has nothing to do with the back-up cam. It's just a separate app which allows manual control of the cam. You don't need F-cam at all for the reversing cam feature to work.
If you don't have a can bus box then you need to connect the reverse trigger wire to the reverse lights (the orange wire from the head unit).

If car has canbus, it can be solved by adding relay. Activated by reverse light power, relay is suposed to switch some stable voltage to suply camera. For example cigarette lighter voltage can power camera. Here:
