Android audio settings with no function - Android Head-Units

Hello all,
it seems that my headunit (QF001 TS7862s) has two different types of audio settings: the audio mixer which directly controls the mcu/dsp/amp. (The hardware volume keys and the swc belongs also to this functionality.) Than the second type of audio settings is the standard android audio panel with its different channels. But those have absolutly no impact on the real volume. And so no app (tasker e.g.) can control the volume which is pretty bad.
Edit: I've tried an USB soundcard now and the sound output works but by this way both volume controls do not work. So I guess the volume output of the android system is hardcoded somewhere in the firmware and the effective control of the volume only works via the mcu.
Any ideas how to give back the android system control over the volume settings?
Cheers

Problem with volume on stereo bluetooth-headset

I have the sound coming correctly via my stereo bluetooth-headset, but I cannot change the volume of it.
The volume that I change on the device has no influence on the volume of the headset...
Any idea?
I have the sa meissue with my Sony bluetooth headset. I can only control the volume via the headset but not from the build in volume control of the HD2. I also noticed that the quality of the sound is worse compared to my Kaiser or the Hero. I tried to change the Blettoh a2dp settings in the registry to High quality sound but that doesnt have an impact.
Does HTC use the Microsoft bluetooth stack or a third party tool?
The problem is, that I cannot control the volume on the headset itself.
So it has to be controlled on the device.
That worked with the same headset nice on the Touch HD.
With this new Windcomm Bluetooth stack, used in the HD2, this seens not to be possible.
Any news about this problem?
I really wish, we could get the old microsoft-stack back, since there a re so many problems with the widcomm-stack...

[Q] Volume control over Toslink?

Hi,
I'm thinking of switching from having my Nexus Q drive my speakers directly to connecting it to an external amp through the optical Toslink output. However, I wouldn't want to use another remote for volume control.
Is anybody using the optical Toslink out and can confirm if the Q volume control still works over that or if it always carries maximum level?
Many thanks!
Found the answer myself: Toslink volume control can be switched on/off in the advanced settings in the Nexus Q app.

[Q] Audi android 4.4.4 sound & bluetooth issues

Need a little help, I bought a unit but it's locked the Bluetooth to the phone and music streaming so I can't pair it to my OBD bluetooth dongle.
Other issue are the crap built in eq for sound control for the Audi bose system. Ran poweramp to get better music control and the eq in that sorted my music quality issue but it plays music at a low volume so when you switch to radio all he'll goes on due to the massive difference in volume levels.
so any help or suggestions would be great
I believe that PowerAmp has its own volume and balance controls that are independent from the unit's "generic" controls. What I recomend you do is set the unit's EQ to flat and use the PowerAmp to set the EQ the way you want. For the volume it would be the other way around; leave PowereAmp at max volume and use the system's volume to control it.
As for the bluetooth issue, how do you know it's "locked" for phone and music? It may say that on when you pait your phone, but that's only because that's what your phone supports but it doesn't mean you can't pair an OBDII device. In fact, I have that same hting on my phone but I'm still able to pair with my OBDII at the same time.
Are you using a custom ROM or are you still stock? I believe some people have had problems with some OBDII devices which are corrected with an Xposed module (I never had any problems so I don't have much more info).

I am curious what unit you purchased. I purchased an Audiosources unit for my A3 and after the initial test fit, I have no sound. I unhooked the unit and ran some wiring and now no sound from the radio, stored music, streaming, Bluetooth or even video. Everything powers up and seems to work though. I have not tried to pair a second device yet so I cannot help with that issue. When the sound did work, I did have the low rear volume issue that you appear to of had as well. Thanks.
When I hooked mine up as I have full Bose there was zero sound, I had to use a hi/lo converter which did the trick. The low sound I nailed down to the crap built in eq as I downloaded a great app that overrides it for everything bar the radio for some reason (app viper4android). My unit is going back due to a faulty volume knob, I will be ordering a different unit from some other supplier.
Thanks for the info. I have Bose as well. Can I ask what year and model your Audi is and the brand of the unit you returned and the new one you are considering?

Bluetooth volume control

I'm able to connect my JBL Clip 2 and Avantree Clipper. When adjust the volume on the bluetooth headset or speaker, the volume scale doesn't appear on the LG G6. Anyone, has this issue? I have the H870DS.
Because you're adjusting the devices volume not the phones media volume that it's sending to the device they are truly separately controlled. Same with using a 3.5mm to plug into car. You control both volumes separately

Android headunit (8227L) - call volume / radio volume / mic volume adjustment help (using ZLink for Apple CarPlay)

Hi
Hoping someone can assist.
I bought an Android headunit of eBay. (Brand is Podofo. Android 11 and has a chipset 8227L-Demo. User guide has SHA16/23 on the cover)
see link
https://www.ebay.com/itm/3543608658...84&osub=-1~1&crd=20230131021608&segname=11051
My only uses are: listen to the car radio; make and receive a call (Bluetooth or using CarPlay) and use CarPlay for navigation with Google Maps / Waze.
I have the following problems I am trying to resolve:
If I am listening to the car radio, and then use CarPlay (in ZLink app) with Waze, the radio volume mutes when Waze provides a navigation instruction, but doesn't unmute after - this is really frustrating and means I cannot use the radio and navigation at the same time. (If I use Spotify in zLink it also mutes for an instruction, then unmutes after). Any ideas how to stop this happening? Could it be a Zlink app bug?
When I plug my phone in and use CarPlay (wired), phone call volume is very soft / low - I can hardly hear the other person, yet navigation or Spotify is the right volume level. Any idea how to adjust default call volume?
I have an external microphone plugged in - and the microphone is located near my head by the visor. People I talk to using Carplay phone app say they can hardly hear me. How do I increase the microphone volume pickup?
There are multiple settings menus eg. the headunit, under 'apps' and zLink to has settings. I have looked for volume / microphone adjustment but can't see anything obvious.
Is there is hidden admin menu somewhere?
Many thanks

Hi, tweak all sounds in factory settings (entered with pin code) on the menu SOUND or AUDIO.
For muting audio after waze - reinstall waze app or disable it and then enable it in settings and see if helps restore sound.

Thanks - where do I find the PIN code - do I need to get it from the manufacturer or are they typically generic PINs?

No, you must access factory settings (button at HMI: at the right) in your infotainment menu when asks pin code enter specific pin for your device like 3268 0000 8888 123456 etc.
Once inside hidden menu , go to menu AUDIO or SOUND or VOLUME and set audio volumes
Hi, I bought same device.
It looks perfect but...FM radio app I do not like.
Just that do not permit to save radio station name on the button. Am I wrong ? If is not allowed, is possible to change radio app ?
