Hello,
I just bought a new Android cardvd system with Android 8 installed.
I can use the mirrorlink from my Android smartphone to my Android cardvd.
But is it possible to connect my phone to the cardvd where my phone is the remote, not the host? (kind of remote control)
Thank you
greetzz tom
Hi all,
i have a Huawei P Smart (dual Sim) updated to September patches of Google (EMUI 8.0 and Android 8.0). The model is FIG-LX1.
The smartphone is not rooted and i have a problem with Android Auto in my car headunit.
Previously i had a Huawei P9 Lite that was able to connect to my car by Android Auto correctly and it showed correctly on the car screen (i was able to use maps and other apps in the car by the car screen).
Now Huawei P Smart is not able to connect to my car. When i plug the USB in the car, the smartphone is only in charge and the car doesn't recognize the device.
My car is Opel Corsa 2016 (and it is compatible with Android Auto).
Do you have advice to solve this issue? Any workaround?
Thanks in adance
My Car - BMW E64 (convertible) CCC 2006 with AUX IN in the glovebox.
My Phone Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra, Android 11
My SatNav disk drive is failing, so I would like to replace > upgrade to Android Auto. Am capable of the install but would like some compatibility / fitness guidance as to what I have chosen
Custom Head unit
OBD2
DAB+
Rear Camera
TPMS
I welcome suggestions! Don't mind spending a bit more for any selection improvements.
Thanks!!

Suggest buying a genuine Android Auto device - listed here: https://www.android.com/intl/en_in/auto/compatibility/#compatibility-stereos
The "cheap" chinese sourced devices are not Android Auto, despite the claims.
Thanks Marchnz. Understand your reply, but want a custom 'in dash' replacement for the OEM display.
Don't mind reasonable expenditure say £500 max, but it is a 15 year old car.
Hello,
I wanted to post in here because it seems like there are a lot of smart people who can give me the yes or no or how-to on this.
I just recently had a baby right before Father's Day and my wife bought me a head unit for my 2017 Kia Sorento. (hooray for dad-mobiles)
I was wondering if this system could support carplay or android auto on it. I've tried downloading an autokit.apk file and plugged the USB to the front of the head unit as a messaged stating "Not Supported" showed on the head unit.
Are there any ways around this or am I stuck without carplay and terrible AutoLink (mirror phone).

Your headunit does not run Android, thus, does not support installing apps using APK files. If I recall correctly, those headunits use an old Windows CE version and a custom UI layer over it.
The most you can do in your car is to mirror your phone's screen using the mirrorlink feature.
Congratulations on your first fathers day btw
