Hello, I was wondering if anyone can help me. When I open Fire Toolbox with my Fire 7 12th gen plugged in & the tab in USB debugging the toolbox wont open & I get an error of
"Daemon not running; starting now at tcp:5037"
"Failed to start Daemon"
"Abd.exe: cannot connect to daemon"
I assume it is because the only step I cannot do on the guide is the first step of unchecking the box? Meaning this only works on new tabs not ones already used?
Thank You.

Ok so here is some back story i messed up my rooting manual and got it stuck and the kindle logo, so on i whim i installed this and pressed option one boot mode and normal boot and that got me out of it and my kindle would connect fine but ever since i 'installed' the drivers my computer with (kindle utility) no longer recognizes or assigns a drive letter for the kindle fire.
kindle fire utility says 'oops... unable to locate device' no matter what option i choose.
i have tried the search button but i am unable to locate a solution or even anybody else with similar problems. i will admit i may be blind so i may have read it and simply forgot but if anybody can help me to figure out WHY there is a communication error going on now i would greatly appreciate it.

It wont recognize it in device manager and this is what i see in hardware area There is no option to update drivers
sorry i can't see anything on your thumbnail - it's too small
anyway - the first link is to a site with alternate drivers - i would download them and try to install - goto device manager - look for kindle or android phone-adb device or unknown - right mouse click - update drivers - search by yourself - select the ones you downloaded (and hopefully unzipped to a location) - it's the location with adb_usb.ini
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! you made my day i updated that and it worked THANK YOu
glad that i could help you ...
Great work on everything guys.
I managed to root my kindle with nate's guide on youtube. I also backed it up using TWRP 2. and installed cyanogen 7 mod successfully.
I am now enjoying my device. However, I wanted to transfer some files from my PC to my kindle fire and when I plug it in, it doesn't recognize it as a hard drive.
I've uninstalled/installed the drivers from the kindle utility several times and to no effect. I have also done the cmd check if the device is attached.
it notices the device but says it's offline.
C:\KindleADB>adb devices
List of devices attached
3D88000600000001 offline
I wanted to root and mod this device so I can use it as a tool for my work. (viewing video demos and pdf's)
with the mod successful I need help with this issue. I hope to get this solved soon. any ideas?

Hi guys,
I had recently bought a new fire hd 10 7th gen.
The first thing I would like to do was to install the Google playstore.
I started, following one of the many tutorial on line, to download the 4 apk files.
The problem is that when I try to install any of them an error appear: "can't open this file".
I tried downloading the kit from another link, but same error appear.
To be sure I didn't make some mistakes I factory reset the tablet and try to do it again. Same error appears.
Basically it seem that the tablet does not recognize the apk file for installing and it tries to open it.
Does anybody can help me?
Tablet without play store is practically meaningless.
thank you

See point 8 in this link on how to get the playstore working:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/hd8-hd10/general/steps-2017-fire-hd-10-owner-root-t3872063
You will have to enable adb/install PC drivers/etc. But it works very well!

Yes I can verify it works 100%. You must have adb installed and working.

You can install via ADB

I have two identical Fire HD 10 9th generation. One works seamlessly using the Fire Toolbox. The other gets a message that the device is not authorized. All the settings on both tablets are identical, USB debugging is engaged. The second tablet is identified in the Fire Toolbox (RSK key), but it always asks me to authorize my device. It tells me to unlock my device and that a window should appear with the computer's RSK key and then to tap the box that says "Always allow from this computer". However, no such window ever appears. I have reset the second table to factory default, made all of the appropriate settings (Developer Options - USB Debugging), but to no avail. Does anyone have any suggestions?

You can use another USB-C cable or USB port on your PC.
If you're PC running Windows 7 or 8.1 that causes a driver fails. Try it to upgrade your PC to Windows 10.
I appreciate your work DataStream, thanks for saving me from constantly updating my own scripts and batch files.
One question please:
Does anyone have a method to permanently disable Wi-Fi?
I know it sounds strange to want a Tablet to not have connectivity, but I have a very specific need to do so. I found I could Root the Tablet and run uFirewall to kill Wi-Fi, but the end user can just undue the setting. I am trying to just disable the Wi-Fi and defeat the Toggle Switch. I would prefer not to Root as I have a decent quantity to configure identically. I wouldn't mind preforming Factory Resets if required to re-enable Wi-Fi if ever needed.
Wondering if anybody knows if the Fire Toolbox 16 will work with the new Fire HD 10 plus (2021).
