I have a sm-a205u that powers on to a screen that says, "Software Update Failed-Your device didnt update successfully Use the verizon software repair assistant on a computer to repair your device and complete the update."
And when i put it in download mode it shows CCIC = S2MU106
CARRIER_ID: TMK
How do i know which firmware to download and flash with odin? Or what should i be doing to get this taken care of? Much appreciated anyone, please.

Negative. On smart switch emergency recovery thing, it says this model does not support firmware upgrades and initialization. The verizon one says, your device's current firmware version is not supported to update firmware.

Explain who says so. Have you communicated directly with Verizon service?
I just typed what it showed on the screen on my laptop. The verizon update assistant thing. Ive got it to bootloop and im able to get the recovery screen to come on for about a half of a split second then black for 5 sec, and repeat. In download mode it says carrier: tmk but imei checkers say its a metro pcs phone but the screen said to use the verizon assistant, but it doesnt show the verizon thing anymore, it bootloops the samsumg a20 splash. I have no idea which firmware to try throwing at it, they all fail on odin. Sometimes odin will stay stuck on set partition and then nothing happens.
It can go into download mode, and bootloop the samsung a20 splash. I can sometimes get it to bootloop this screen, but its literally half of a split second then black for 5 seconds, bootloops for a few minutes then off.

First of all, how can i find out what firmware is on the phone? Recovery doesnt load, bootloops the samsung logo, download mode doesnt show much info in the top left corner, but does show carrier: TMK
I just know the model is a205u.

Did you buy the phone from official distribution?
If not, you can have your phone refurbished.
I bought it from a guy that didnt want it because it doesnt boot to homescreen. He wanted $20 for it so i bought it. I seen it does power on so i figured itd be easy frp or odin, but nope. Cant find anyone that can help me get this phone working again.
Instead of refurbishing it, id rather just paypal someone to walk me thru the process of getting it working again.

Hi guys,
I just bought my S4 i9500 and I think that came already as a brick. First time that I turned on the phone, loads in "Factory Mode". All functions were disabled and I can't use it at all. I tried removing the battery, turn on, turn off, with the sim card, without the sim card. Always starts in "Factory Mode".
Then I decided to make a Hardware reset, but when I press (Vol Up, Home, Power) appears "Power reset or Unknown Upload Mode" instead of Recovery Stock. (Attached a photo)

}
Then I thought, "Ok, I will flash with Odin the Firmware Stock of my carrier".
After that, the Factory Mode disappeared, but during the Setup Wizard, appears a pop up with "Unfortunately, the process android.process.acore has stopped." and I can't never finish the wizard.
For my surprise, when I tried to make a Hardware reset, the recovery mode is still failing. Instead of that, appears "Power reset or Unknown Upload Mode".
I don't want to touch so much, because I'll go back the phone to my carrier trying to get a new one, but they don't have stock right now.
Any clue? I'll really appreciate it.
Thanks in advance!
Looks like your phone came with a bad firmware install.
You may should replace it.
Did you not turn it on at the store ?

They sent the phone via post. I flashed the branded firmware, but it's not fixed.

Contact your suppliers.
Dont tell them you flashed anything.
This is obviously a phone that needs to be changed. Let the sellers figure out how to fix it.

My i9500 has this problem too. When I first open the phone from box it was in Safe Mode. Then I restart and it's normal. But everytjme I try to put my phone into recovery mode (Power + Home + Up Volume) I get this screen first, I press the combo again and it goes into recovery. I rooted the phone and install Omega Tom, everything works just fine.
just re install the firmware, it happend to me with a sony x10a, i just plug the phone and choose re install firm, but maybe you should use odin
Hello there, I am very very new, so please forgive if I do a mistake.
So earlier today I was trying to root my S5(SM-G900H) and I was trying out this method: http://www.androidrootz.com/2014/04/how-to-root-galaxy-s5-recovery-root.html
Everything was going smooth, Odin showed me the "PASS!" too, but when I pressed the volume up, home and power button keys together, nothing happened and the phone was on the download mode, it didn't do anything. So I took out the battery and rebooted, and it rebooted normally and I was able to use it again. I tried the same method at least 10 times more but always failed. Then after some time I stumbled upon this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2696537
Followed all steps except one, didn't uncheck the "Auto Reboot" box and the "F. Reset Time" simply because Odin didn't let me, the boxes were dim and the mouse didn't respond on hovering over them. So, now my mistake, I pressed start anyway and Odin got to the blue box saying "RESET" or something and my phone restarted and the "Samsung Galaxy S5" logo and the "Powered by android" logo screen came up and it has been stuck there forever. I tried getting it into recovery a lot of times but recovery just won't come however it does load the download mode, so I tried the same "[SM-G900*] CF-Auto-Root" method, only this time I used a version of Odin that let me uncheck all the boxes, I tried several times but it just got stuck on the download mode like it happened in the first method, I rebooted and still stuck on the black and white samsung screen, yes that's right, not even the boot up animation. PLEASE HELP PLEASE HELP. I'M DYING
Here is a picture of what my problem looks like:

Download a stock firmware for your device model, and install it via Odin.
The best way to do it, is do it through kies3. Go:
tools > Firmware Upgrade And Initialisation, and follow the on screen steps. It will ask you for your serial number and model number, so have it handy. This is how I have saved my galaxy devices numerous times.

Hi everyone. While I was attempting to root my tablet I ran in to a problem. It turned out since I had updated to 8.1 it had an RMM state that's prenormal, which makes it impossible to root. I found a guide to use Miracle Box to downgrade it to 7.1 where I'd be able to root. However in this process when I saw Miracle Box was done I decided to unplug the tablet. Well it turns out the tablet was still loading it, so unplugging it caused an error. Now whenever it boots up I'm stuck on the error screen which says to use the emergency recovery mode on smart switch. Well, smart switch won't find my device. Neither will kies. I've tried downloading 2 different stock roms for my exact device and using odin to install them, but I get an error on odin and it fails. I have tried two different versions of odin too, 3.12 and 3.13.

I have no idea what else to do here to get my device back in usable state. Please help!

What error are you getting? There is no picture of your tablet or the error. Also did you try patched Odin? If SmartSwitch won't recognize it do you have the samsung USB drivers installed from here? https://developer.samsung.com/mobile/android-usb-driver.html
hey guys i recently had an update on my s10+ and mid through the update the phone just powered off(it was plugged to the charger) and since then ive been stuck on a blue screen saying i have to use the emergency recovery function in the smart switch pc app so i downloaded the app and tried to do that but the app wont recognize my phone. i searched all over the internet i tried flashing with odin a previous version and even the version it was trying to update to but it all failed. it gets stuck around 50% through the install and just sits there for hours without continuing. i am hopeless and have no idea what else i can do i even took the phone to a repair shop and they also failed to fix this problem. my last resort would be changing motherboard but i doubt its worth it. anyone has ideas what else i can do in order to fix this issue?

Not sure if you've tried this but maybe it will work...
1) Hold bixby, volume down and while holding these, put the usb-c cable in the s10 when connected to the PC. This will (hopefully) get you into download mode if the other method fails
2)If Odin is still recognizing your phone, you have hope.
3)Make sure you use the latest version of Odin. I have previously tried to flash a new firmware with an old Odin and failed
4)Once you have the right Odin, try flash the latest stock firmware you can find. You may not be able to downgrade once upgraded
Dear crowd, I need support with my Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e/SM T-725 (it is my first Samsung device).
I unlocked it and tried flashing it (with Odin3). This was not successful and now I do not manage to get the device to boot into the Download Mode anymore.
The device does not switch on anymore - only with charging cable connected. In this case it turns on and off eternally showing the below screenshot.
Connecting a USB-C cable while pressing combinations of Power+ any volume key combination does not lead to any result. Only pressing Power+VolumeUp+VolumeDown brings is for a little moment to the screen where I chose to unlock the device, bot after one secons it turns off again being in bootloop subsequently.
SmartSwitch as indicated on the screenshot below does not do anything as the device is constantly turning off again.
Does anyone have a clue how to convince the device to finally allow me flashing TWRP and a custom ROM in this situation?
Advice is more than welcome!.

This warning screen is still download mode. Try flash stock rom via Odin.
Chosse exact firmware, when start flashing you will see the white bar below that text.
Unfortunately, it does not work as the device switches off too quickly. Odin3 then just reports failure.
I wonder if there is a way to prevent the device from switching off so quickly.

so sorry, mine stuck at warning sreen so i can easy flash back.
If your tab fast switches off then maybe it got bootloader damaged, you need research flash by Qualcomn flash tool like QFIL, flashsing for Qualcomn chipset device when it in QDLoader 9008 mode.
