I have bought a PX6 and A FYT Meekde 700 unit. Neither have been able to connect to my standalone ECUs Bluetooth module. I read somewhere on here most devices do not support full stack Bluetooth. I will admit the fine inter-workings of Bluetooth are outside my wheelhouse. I have a syvecs ecu and would like to be able to display my cars information through their app onto my headunit. I can connect to the device via phone and laptop no issues.
Any suggestions? Is there a android headunit that may work?
Edited for MCU versions

@marchnz You originally suggested to me a FYT would solve the problem. Here
Unit seems to function overall better in most ways. Though using the android headunit along with the Syvecs app was the sole reason for the purchase.

That's odd, I even have my valentine one working via BLE.
Yeah im not sure what the cause could be. The headunits wont connect to it at all. No issue connecting to any other device i have tried.(Android tablet, Phones, Ipad) everything else works flawlessly.
Pondering dividing down carputer/tablet headunit install. Just dont want to lose other functionality like steering wheel controls.
Any insight or testing that can help narrow down a solution please let me know. Willing to pay for a solution at this point.

I will not be the one delivering any solution, but as you should have the unit rooted, have you ever pulled the logs while trying to connect? Search for Logcat extreme and set the log level to Debug. May be you can find the issue in there.
I haven't yet. I will

This actually could work just need to set up the xml file. And see what adapter real dash needs. I will have to do some more research but looks promising so far. Thank you very much.
The xml file is straightforward to do.
Canbus adapter that looks like this one work well.

Hi, I've had a Joying HU with Intel Sofia CPU for a few months .
Now looking at their site, they say that their new Octa Core systems are "Z-Link" compatible. Apparently something to do with iPhone voice commands etc.
They also sell a USB dongle for Z-Link on their site at joyingauto.com
Anyone tried this or have an idea what this Z-Link actually is good for?
Cheers, Harri
Z-Link enables two options: Android Auto *and* Apple Car Play. For Intel units it needs a hardware adapter to work.

I looked a lot to see if it's really compatible with Android Auto and I could not find anything.... lots of videos on Youtube presenting ONLY the CarPlay functionality so I guess it's only for CarPlay ?

You are right: now only Iphone is mentioned on their Z-Link accessories page. On a video I've seen last month they also mentioned Android Auto and tried to connect some Samsung phone for it but failed.
@CadillacMike posted a video:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75745846&postcount=117
Yeah, I posted a video where I tried both Android Auto and CarPlay on a Seicane S18JP25, which is a MTCD PX3 with Android 7.1.2
Android Auto did not work very well, but CarPlay seemed great
The ZLink adapter when used for Android Auto automates the steps when you connect your phone to the car radio to get Android Auto running. It will automatically launch Android Auto on your phone when you plug it into the head unit via USB, turn the brightness to on your phone to minimum, and mirror your phone screen (running Android Auto) on the head unit screen.
I was successful at getting the ZLink adapter to work fairly well. But considering that EasyConnect is free and essentially provides the same functionality for Android phones with the Joying head unit it isn't really worth the extra cost for the adapter. Apparently the newer octacore Joying units come with the capability of the ZLink adapter built in already.
You can also use Headunit reloaded if youre running an android phone. You will get Android auto without using the Zbox.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ge...ndroid-4-1-headunit-reloaded-android-t3432348
I am using the white dongle by Joying with zBox 4.1.1. The app connects to the dongle, but then sits on "Phone Not Found"
I have tried using a power USB hub.
Any ideas?

FYI, I have their latest HU after upgrading from an older Joying unit. The Z-Link built in now with the latest firmware they just released this week works quite well. Apple Carplay works, and is actually impressive considering you don't need the USB dongle.
Sorry to reopen this thread, but I'm having some issues with my joying head unit and Android auto. When I connect my phone, it automatically opens the Android auto app on my phone, but then the zlink app says that "androidauto is closed". Any ideas?

I guess you may use android 8.0 version mobile phone, the android auto function on Joying head unit can't support android 8.0 phone
Why was this never disclosed before? I wouldn't have bought the head unit if I knew that. Especially how almost every Android phone to be purchased today comes with Oreo preinstalled.

Alex, unfortunately Joying (Summer above) has a habit of telling you what doesn't work AFTER you've purchased. It's pretty crappy. Unfortunately, there isn't a Joying forum anymore that also does the proper vetting and issues lists.

It is in the top of every webpage of every 8.0 model that android auto only works on android phones up to version 7.0. I do not know if it was there from the start, but it is at least on each page for more than a month.
Note:The android auto function only tested on iOS11.3 and android 7.0 mobile phone, can not support android 8.0 mobile phone.

I did purchase it over a month ago. I've been looking at joying units for years now, and just decided to take the plunge. It was probably my continuous emails to them essentially saying "NOTE THIS ON YOUR LISTINGS" that got them to update the pages....

My comment was in general.
For instance, Joying hasn't disclosed that the amp cont cable doesn't supply power on the *PX5 units despite myself and others having to prove it. They also don't disclose little things like not being able to change the radio station labels, no fast boot, etc.
I'm not saying they have to disclose every little nuance, but it gets confusing trying to find the right HU with the features you want. Most consumers are more accustomed to Iphone/Android standards where you know what you are getting regardless of phone manufacturer. With Joying and Android HU's in general you have to really dig into the details to know which units support which features, etc.
Again, that's why I say always buy from Amazon so that you can get the unit in, immediately install and test all features you were hoping for, and if required return it within 30 days. Joying's return policy direct from their site is horrible.
Hi all, I bought a 9 inch android 7.1.1 head unit from Seicane (yes I know they aren't the manufacturer, just a seller, I haven't worked out who the manufacturer is).
The built in bluetooth is only for phone functionality and A2DP. I was hoping to add a USB bluetooth device to it....but the bluetooth option is missing from settings. Is there a way to enable it? I'm aware it may not have drivers and it may not work, but I'm hoping (as it is a bit of an unknown) that its just the settings option missing and it will work if I can get that in.
Any help much appreciated!
I often see thread asking for device info screenshots.....so I will include them just in case lol

I have found things on adding bluetooth in, but I can't get root on the unit. Seicane are insisting they are the manufacturer and won't provide the firmware
Also can't get ADB to work over wifi, and USB seems to be stuck in host mode

Click on the Call Icon. You will get the Bluetooth connection settings there. Please Note: For all car units Bluetooth is always on and cannot be disabled.

Hello, it's 2021 but it looks like there is still no solution to this issue. I have an Allwinner T5 and I am faced with the same problem. I want to connect the head unit to an OBD scanner via Bluetooth. The issue is that, if you go to the network menu, Bluetooth settings is not available.
Currently I have an inexpensive head unit Allwinner t3. The Bluetooth OBDii doesn't connect. Was able to use the Cheap ELM 327 and both pair and connect with my iPhone. My android HU will not connect. Says it pairs with both 0000 and 1234.
Too me, it appears some software must be missing. My HU doesn't allow me to reset, but reset to where it was when I bought it.
Was going to buy another OBDII bluetooth scanner, then I saw many people having the same issue.
Anyway to verify the proper software on the head unit?
On another thread, someone suggested going into Config Info., in the settings, from Bc6, to BC8. Didn't and it didn't work. It also changed the Android Bluetooth name from CarLink, to iTop blah blah. Changed it back.
Does anyone know if we're missing system files on these android head units or anything else?
Same here i have T5 Android 10 but couldn't find the BT menu to setup OBD reader.

Hello, the BT menu should be a BLUETooth App. Just like picking Radio, Weather, YouTube etc. You might have to add one if it didn't come as a default. Others have said to add your OBDii first. i.e. do not add your phone or other bluetooth devices. If you're lucky enough to get it going and it works, wahoooooo! if not, keep looking like the rest of us. Basically, we've been had.

In case you don't know, you need a OBDii App on your head unit to work with your OBDii, unless they have one. If they do you still down to download that via Google play.

Who/where
did you order your Konnwei 902 from?
Hi everyone,
I recently bought a used 2010 Prius with an android HU. It's unbranded (noname) and pretty weak (1gb ram). I could live with the android performance issues but the microphone is driving me crazy. Nobody can hear what i'm saying. The unit has an external mic and i wanted to upgrade it to a different one but for some reason, the mic that's connected to the HU has 5 wires (last picture) and the one i ordered only 2 (mono jack). There's also no mic jack. Here are my questions:
1. Is there a way to connect a different mono mic?
2. Does anyone have any idea what unit this is and where i can find a wiring diagram?
3. Can you recommend a better unit? I like the ones that look more like stock, with physical buttons.
4. Any known fix for the error in the picture? "Software has not been authorized legally" when trying to use Easyconnect to mirror my phone.
I need any info i can get, you don't have to have all the answers
Thanks!
I googled "Sp9853i_1h10_vmm" (taken from one of your photos). Turned up quite a few results. I have not had experience with that particular unit but maybe might turn up some useful information for you perhaps.

Thanks for the reply. I've done that first the problem is there are multiple manufacturers with multiple configurations. I contacted Seicane and am still in the process of identifying the unit/software with them but the back and forth is pretty slow..
This is not your "standard" moddable unit, I'm afraid. Most information here and on forums like 4PDA is on units based on 2 main technologies:
1. 8227L Mediatek, system: YT921xx
2. Rockchip PX3, PX5, PX6, PX30 based on MTCx chip.
By having a quick look at what you got, the mic is the least of your problems. These units are packed with so called features but need considerable hardware and software modding to make them work and even excel.
Here is an example of one such modded units, started off as cheap £70 Android, and ended up performing on par with luxury Android units. The video shows the mods, just to give you an understanding.
To save you time, invest in a Dasaita MTCE unit as that one requires least mods to perform well. You can find them for around £200 on AliExpress. Good luck!
Thanks for the info. I'll look into one of the PX chips and go for dasaita.
so i've found a single Dasaita unit for Prius G3 https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001625066855.html?spm=a2g0s.8937460.0.0.20fa2e0eCiCqeA
The problem is i can't find this model on Dasaita website or store and i'm not sure it's real. I've emailed Dasaita but no reply..
There are multiple units from diferent brands (Ownice, Wondefoo..). Can i go for one of those? What should i look for?
Some sellers list the "K6 plus" version as the top of the line. Should i still go for PX6 or is that better?
Hi all,
First time posting here. I need your expertise and help! I am looking for an Android head unit for my Mini Cooper 2012. I had found the Teyes CC3 but their support said that the Mini product they have (this one: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001666526066.html) is not compatible with a right-hand drive...
I really like the CC3 but if it doesn’t connect to my right-hand-drive car then I can’t order it. Can you guys suggest a solution or a better alternative that will work with my car?
I have attached a photo of my dash, if that helps. Thanks, everyone!

Also, Teyes support may not be accurate.

Thanks for getting back to me! I quite like something like the Teyes one — essentially an Android tablet with all the functionality of a GPS, Radio, etc. What do you suggest?
“Also, Teyes support may not be accurate.” Do you mean to suggest that the CC3 will work with a right-hand-drive?
Hello I am having an issue with my PX6(Android 10 RK3399 MTCE).
I have a standalone ECU for my vehicle it has a Bluetooth module(Syvecs). I can use a PC or iPhone Or Android unit and connect to the device just fine.
The PX6 won't connect to it. I see it in the Bluetooth list click on it click yes on the do you want to connect dialog box then it does nothing.
The Bluetooth Module doesn't have a pin that is set, each time I connect to the device I am given a different code(5 or 6 digits I forgot the length) to verify before pairing. Seems like the px6 only has enough digits for a code length of 4.
Is this a hardware or a software issue?
If it is a software problem would flashing to a custom ROM solve it? Hal9k or Makaysk
Hal9k didn't solve issue.
