Hi guys - I recently installed one of these into a Mazda 6. (px3/7.1.2/Arm Cortex Quad) My first toe dip into the Android Headunit space.
Couple of outstanding questions:
[1) I previously had a Sony Bluetooth module plugged into the aux in port. The A2DP on this unit sounds terrible by comparison. (CD Player sounds great) The Sony seems to support a HD codec. Are the codecs in the hardware/firmware for the BT module in these units? Specifically:
a) Is it possible to install more advanced codecs such as AptX HD via a software update/install?
b) Is it possible to connect a better quality BT USB dongle and use that with the on-board BT disabled?
2) I would really like to be able to use Android Auto. I have installed Head Unit Reloaded, and I can get this going with Wifi Direct, but if I plug my Pixel 2 XL into the USB ports, all it will do is charge. I have checked with Emil, and he seems to think this is not the expected behaviour. Eonon support say that is all that is supported. Dashcam etc works OK.
a) I assume ports on these types of head units are USB OTG? (Is that how it works?)
b) Maybe ScreenCast or something is taking the defaults for phone connect. I've been through every app on there I can find. Any other hints?
c) Has anyone had Headunit Reloaded working on an Aonon unit with the USB cable?
d) Is one of these Car Play/Android Auto USB dongles likely to work if I buy one?
3) What are people doing with multiple drivers of the same car? Setting multiple Android/Google profiles and switching between them somehow? Or making an generic Google account for your car?
4) I'm noticing some dashboard lights flashing briefly on the dash (Traction Control) etc when the ignition is on. Need to pull it apart and disconnect the stereo to see if it is causing this. Has anyone else experienced it? (Eonon sent me a firmware update to fix this, but it is just the same)
Any help appreciated! Or to just know if anyone else is using one of these.
Update for #2. I flashed the latest firmware Eonon gave me, and (that caused a few Wifi problems) but now if I disable the EzConnect software they supply Headunit Reloaded works

Thanks!

I think it's just bug-fixes. Did you try it? How is your head unit going? Mine has some issues. Are you using Headunit Reloaded?

I havn't installed, yet.

That works. And rooted.

Thanks. I might try that if you recommend it? Do you know if going back to stock is as simple as installing that image I linked?
Can you tell me if you have any issues with yours?
1) I have electrical engine whine noises over the speakers.
2) Some crackle.
2) The top LED display beeps twice every few minutes and flashes "NAVI" up.
3) Running Headunit Reloaded works now, but it randomly disconnects every few minutes or so and I have to unplug/replug. I've read this could be a cable issue that is specific to the Pixel 2 XL.
It's possible I have a cable short or similar behind the unit, but wanted to check with someone else before pulling the dash all apart. Cheers.

Factory with the update. Sounds more like a grounding/quality issue though rather than software.
Hi all, I bought a 9 inch android 7.1.1 head unit from Seicane (yes I know they aren't the manufacturer, just a seller, I haven't worked out who the manufacturer is).
The built in bluetooth is only for phone functionality and A2DP. I was hoping to add a USB bluetooth device to it....but the bluetooth option is missing from settings. Is there a way to enable it? I'm aware it may not have drivers and it may not work, but I'm hoping (as it is a bit of an unknown) that its just the settings option missing and it will work if I can get that in.
Any help much appreciated!
I often see thread asking for device info screenshots.....so I will include them just in case lol
I like to know that too, I have the same problem and unit!

I have found things on adding bluetooth in, but I can't get root on the unit. Seicane are insisting they are the manufacturer and won't provide the firmware
Also can't get ADB to work over wifi, and USB seems to be stuck in host mode

Click on the Call Icon. You will get the Bluetooth connection settings there. Please Note: For all car units Bluetooth is always on and cannot be disabled.

Hello, it's 2021 but it looks like there is still no solution to this issue. I have an Allwinner T5 and I am faced with the same problem. I want to connect the head unit to an OBD scanner via Bluetooth. The issue is that, if you go to the network menu, Bluetooth settings is not available.
Currently I have an inexpensive head unit Allwinner t3. The Bluetooth OBDii doesn't connect. Was able to use the Cheap ELM 327 and both pair and connect with my iPhone. My android HU will not connect. Says it pairs with both 0000 and 1234.
Too me, it appears some software must be missing. My HU doesn't allow me to reset, but reset to where it was when I bought it.
Was going to buy another OBDII bluetooth scanner, then I saw many people having the same issue.
Anyway to verify the proper software on the head unit?
On another thread, someone suggested going into Config Info., in the settings, from Bc6, to BC8. Didn't and it didn't work. It also changed the Android Bluetooth name from CarLink, to iTop blah blah. Changed it back.
Does anyone know if we're missing system files on these android head units or anything else?
Same here i have T5 Android 10 but couldn't find the BT menu to setup OBD reader.

Hello, the BT menu should be a BLUETooth App. Just like picking Radio, Weather, YouTube etc. You might have to add one if it didn't come as a default. Others have said to add your OBDii first. i.e. do not add your phone or other bluetooth devices. If you're lucky enough to get it going and it works, wahoooooo! if not, keep looking like the rest of us. Basically, we've been had.

What obdii app are you using with your konnwei 902? Does the app work on your Head Unit? Not just come on, but does the reading work? Unisoc Chip SC7331e quad core isn't a name brand. Type that in and see What brands pop up.

In case you don't know, you need a OBDii App on your head unit to work with your OBDii, unless they have one. If they do you still down to download that via Google play.

I use Google translate, but I am not brave enough to flash any of the ROMs from there.
I have the same unit I'm my Camry.
I have the same one, bricked it flashing boot.img patched by magisk. Supposedly magisk patched boot.img has to be flashed into 'recovery partition', not 'boot' partition. I have made more or less full backup of the unit but do not know how to enter recovery mode using buttons or shorting wires.
Regards
I have a Hizpo Android10 head unit with the same MCU version (I think, first letters are same: S32F0). Also interested in if there are updates available and how the h**l you can acivate recovery mode with button presses.

Hoping as time passes more will get these HU's and eventually root and cook a ROM for them.
Mine has a number of issues,
1) The OEM reverse camera only works for 3 seconds when selecting reverse then it switches off
2) The basic DSP works but the more advanced DSP doesn't
3) GPS is very inaccurate
4) No RDS
5) Volume and radio channels change by themselves
6) Car settings don't work
7) Open doors indicator is switched around, left door open shows right door on HU.

1) My reverse camera works,
2) DSP Works
3) Gps never give me problem, error of 3 meters is normal
4) RDS works perfectly
5)Never happen to me
6) car setting works, i changed SW and other settings
7) I didnt have that functions (in my car) so i cannot test

I have a RK3368 RockChip PX5 head unit with MCU S32F0 processor, I have no idea what one you have or if it's the same.
What I listed are the problems with mine, why I don't know, but as there's not much other recourse hopefully a ROM update might fix things with mine.

Thanks, I had seen that but the first post says (translated):
"There is essentially no information about it, there are no modified firmware either., The firmware in the header was sent by the seller and was not checked for operability, it is up to you to sew or not.
There were no known attempts to get root on the device."
so it doesn't seem much has been done

I see, but differents users who had gps/clock/rds problems solved it flashing the only mcu called rdsfix file. You can give it a try....
Here is the rom sent by seller yesterday, link available for 4 days.
Android 10 PX
HIZPO PX5C_C01_HA6_11211237
The gps works well.
No GPS navigator in the rom.
Torque OBD included
WeTransfer

Installation:
Copy the zip file to a USB stick or SD card formatted in FAT32
Put in the radio on, press RESET
The installation is done at restart, duration 10mns, remove the key or the SD when installation finished and green screen displayed.

I have an really odd problem with my HU, the reverse camera view goes off as soon as one starts moving and comes back on when stopped again. I fixed most of the other issues I had but this one still persists.
It's an Android 9 HU in a Ford Ranger PXII/T6.
Any ideas?

I have a Hizpo Android "10" Headunit (Advertising claims Android 10, but the unit actually runs Android 9). This model is specifically designed for BMW E90 Series cars, but I'm sure the chipset and software is the same across their devices. (Part: AD8CHKSOI2I08772)
Specs are the Cortex A53 Octa-core and 4GB Samsung DDR3.
Here is the Build number information from inside Android settings:
ANDROID: 213328
MCU: S32F0_XinRC-18_20199820_HA1_6686_D_FF_C8
APP: PX5_C54_HA1_XRC_EN2019-09-02-2008
The password for the factory settings on my unit is "0000".
Inside here there are a couple useful features such as:
1. Mute Radio on system startup
2. Reverse Doors for Car Overlay Feature
3. Change Boot Splash Screen
I am hoping to root this device so I can hide the Android navigation bar and convert over to gesture controls only, enable USB data tethering with my iPhone, and disable some system services/apps as the device can be laggy at times, unacceptable behavior with 8 cores and 4GB RAM, especially in mid 2020!
But overall I am happy with the device.
Bought my new head unit for Jeep Grand Cherokee from Erisin.
It is the new model ES8176J, PX5 Octa Core with 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM.
I was supposing that it was a MTCx but it seems that the MCU is the S32F0 one.
Do you know where I can find updates, modded ROM, root, etc?
I have a Zltoopai unit for a BMW e82. Think pretty much the same as jahjah440.
ANDROID: 145358
MCU: S32F0_XinRC-18_20200527_HD1_7708_D_FF_DSP_C8
APP: PX5_C54_HA1_Xrc2_EN2020-06-05-1728
I'm running it with a Carlinkit carplay dongle which works great. It just doesn't allow me to run radio in the background. I'd like to be able to set the carlinkit app as navigation app so it won't mute the radio. I can't do that now.
Want to get rid of the stock launcher because the unit keeps asking me to chose between that and Agama...
If it can do that it's perfect. Now it's pretty good.
I have a Dasaita PX6, with Hal9k ROM and RF210 bluetooth module.
I can only pair smartphones and OBD devices.
I need to pair a bluetooth lights module to control ambient lights but BT can't recognize it (my phones can do it).
I read something about Chinese laws don't allow to pair particular BT device, but when I had Atoto HU (another Chinese brand) I could pair all devices, without any issue.
There is a way? Is possible or not? Maybe with external BT module?
Hal9k ROM is already rooted if this helps.
Here we are in XDA where nothing is impossible, why we can't find a way to make it work?
A lot of expert here, at least tell me what and where to study to try to find a solution.
Questions like yours have been asked once a week in the past... and no, there is no possibility to add any other BT devices as OBD and smartphones.

Android on the SOC is just the transmitter. The BT is not located in direct connection to the SOC, it´s located on the main board and so far handled by the MCU.
The real BT stack is so far not configurable.

Thank you for all these info.
Ok, so I presume that an external BT module would be handled by the MCU too.
Well, I update the ROM but the MCU too.
I don't have the expertise for that, would be possible to program the MCU ad hoc?

But if they just edit the BT part...

I have bought a PX6 and A FYT Meekde 700 unit. Neither have been able to connect to my standalone ECUs Bluetooth module. I read somewhere on here most devices do not support full stack Bluetooth. I will admit the fine inter-workings of Bluetooth are outside my wheelhouse. I have a syvecs ecu and would like to be able to display my cars information through their app onto my headunit. I can connect to the device via phone and laptop no issues.
Any suggestions? Is there a android headunit that may work?

That's odd, I even have my valentine one working via BLE.
Yeah im not sure what the cause could be. The headunits wont connect to it at all. No issue connecting to any other device i have tried.(Android tablet, Phones, Ipad) everything else works flawlessly.
Pondering dividing down carputer/tablet headunit install. Just dont want to lose other functionality like steering wheel controls.
Any insight or testing that can help narrow down a solution please let me know. Willing to pay for a solution at this point.

I will not be the one delivering any solution, but as you should have the unit rooted, have you ever pulled the logs while trying to connect? Search for Logcat extreme and set the log level to Debug. May be you can find the issue in there.

This actually could work just need to set up the xml file. And see what adapter real dash needs. I will have to do some more research but looks promising so far. Thank you very much.
The xml file is straightforward to do.
Canbus adapter that looks like this one work well.
