Chinese SmartWatch ... howto hack it - Other SmartWatches

Hi guys
I am trying to understand how to customize my chinese smartwatch but I am having trouble understanding which HW and OS it runs.
This is the AliExpress link: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004601404723.html?spm=a2g0o.order_detail.0.0.296bf19cmz1ASu
It seems an Amoled version, with 1.36" display and 390x390 pixels. It says also Realtek 8726d chip but I can't find anything so probably is not correct.
It works with the FitCloudPro app and no major issues there.
Anyone could help to try to understand which OS it has and if I can hack it?
It says (from within the phone) that the firmware is v1.04 1201 and UI ver 1256-05

After checking further, it seems my watch looks very very similar to the DT3-mini:

Checking for what?
I just started myself, it is clearly possible to modify most watches but it is trial and error taking lots of time. There is another thread with more info where I am trying to dig deeper.

which is another one?

Galaxy Tab 10.1 P7501 vs, P7500

Does somebody knows what the difference between P7501 and P7500 are? As I understand both have UMTS and WIFI? Also rest of spec seems to be the same.
(It is not a mistake P7501! Not P7510)
P7501 is a new model (Name is Galaxy Tab 10.1N)
It was created by Samsung in order to address the issue that previous models could not be sold in certain markets due to lawsuits triggered by Apple.
So far I'm not aware what has changed in detail but I assume the technical specs remain the same. Most likely they only adapted the exterior design.
It has a slightly changed design. The software and the basic hardware are the same.
The speakers a repositioned and the silver-border is also changed (dunno in which way)
It got Android 3.2
Here's a link to it on a German site. It doesn't look that different. I wonder if it's different enough for Apple? Interesting.

May not work on other models out of the box. But with the right kernel, perhaps. In any case, we will probably start seeing more 3.2 ROMs very soon -- even official ones.
If they've done it right, this is exactly the same device as the P7500/P7510 with a slightly different frame and a little glas cut of each side.
it looks the same like this htc device http://www.unwiredview.com/2011/11/...s-image-and-specs-leaked-comes-in-early-2012/
It's up on the Samsung Germany site. 649 Euro for the 32GB 3G. Yikes.

I have one.
I've got one.
It has a slightly different design. But from my experience rooting and flashing works the same. So I don't think there are a lot of differences of the hardware.
See also my post here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=19878585#post19878585
I've got one too.
I recently bought the 10.1N WiFi, the GT7511. It features the same hardware specs as the GT7510 except the design of the frame. The speakers are on the front, the silver frame is much larger than the one of the GT7510. The physical size of the tablet is exactly the same and all accessories released by Samsung until now are compatible with it. I own the keyboard dock and it works like a charm. The tablet fits into a 10.1 leather case without problems.
The software is Android 3.2 with Touchwiz. It features several Samsung Hub Apps (Readers Hub, Social Hub, Music Hub), Pulse News, Samsung Apps Market and Polaris Office.
I hope Samsung will release ICS for this modell, too.

Thanks for the resources! I ordered my Model B a month and a half ago and hopefully I will get it by December. I can't wait to start fiddling around with it!
I bought a rPI two weeks ago at europe, it seems to be an awesome toy! I hope to receive the new 512MB version.
Ordered mine from allied on friday. Hope to get it before Christmas
You guys are lucky, I ordered mine from RS electronics in mid July and it won't come until November 19-25 .

That is an awesome case mod! I was thinking of putting one of my pi's under water literally. Maybe fish tank style with mineral water, i'll post pics if I go that route, maybe a fish bowl as a tank would be ridiculous for such a tiny pcb.
U can put in oil in an aquarium ive seen it with a normal pc.

Anyone using WINK app on WEAR?

Its very cool..you get WINK notifications and can set up shortcuts aka 'tasks' that you can control from your WEAR device.
However mine seems to 'lose' the WINK shortcuts every time i restart my phone or exit the WINK app on my phone. I'm hoping this is just a software issue that is being worked on.

We at CastleOS will be releasing on Android Wear support soon. The Wink app is pretty limited. Our app includes the ability to adjust lighting, thermostats, activate and deactivate scenes, and check sensor status. And best of all, everything is automatic, you don't need to manually create anything like shortcuts. Just install CastleOS from the Play store and you're good to go! CastleOS works with INSTEON, Z-Wave, UPB, X10, WeMo, Nest, Sonos, Ecobee, LightwaveRF, and more!

Oh the irony. We support dozens upon dozens (maybe hundreds) of more devices than Wink does, yet none of your devices are currently supported You'll have to wait for the December/January releases for those. We currently support the Z-Wave Honeywell thermostats, but not the WiFi ones yet (we had been waiting for the official API). GE Link is still new and we are in the process of building the interface for that, though we currently support INSTEON and Z-Wave bulbs, WeMo bulbs if they ever launch them, and Philips Hue color changing bulbs. Sorry about that, it will be worth the wait I promise!

YOTA3/Yotaphone 3 Officially announced

The YOTA3/Yotaphone 3 has officially been announced here (in Russian)!
The phone is being referred to as 'YOTA3' for the Asian market, but will be known as 'Yotaphone 3' in Russia and "other markets".
Here are some translated quotes from the post:
"The development of a new generation smartphone took 10 months. In general, more than 100 technical specialists from Russia and China took part in the process of creating the phone."
"The phone has two versions - 64 and 128 GB, also released a premium version of the smartphone."
"Compared to the previous generation smartphone, the new phone has a more advanced operating system Android 7 (Nougat)."
"The device provides for the use of two SIM-cards, has a front screen Samsung Super AMOLED diagonal of 5.5 inches and a back screen E-Ink diagonal of 5.2."
"The amount of RAM doubled to 4 GB, and the battery capacity was increased to 3,300 Mh."
"The smartphone has two cameras with increased light output. Resolution of the front camera is 13 megapixels, back - 12 megapixels. The phone is also equipped with touch controls."
"On the back of the smartphone an additional sensor is installed, which will help to more accurately determine which screen the user wants to unlock. On the front side is a fingerprint sensor, which simplifies user identification and improves security. "
"First, phone sales will be launched in China, then it will appear in other countries, including Russia."

There goes my wish for illuminated EPD..
Doesn't look bad, though..
I would've been happy with this device if it wasn't for the missing 3.5mm headphone jack. I use my phone primarily for listening music, and there's no way I will be carrying a clunky adapter or using some crappy bt headset.
It's coming soon :
https://www.theverge.com/circuitbreaker/2017/8/24/16196766/yotaphone-3-specs-release-price
So it has 3.5mm audio plug after all (GSMarena specs). But the EPD screen seems not back-lit and the PPI increased only by 20% (Yota2 235 ppi, Yota3 282 ppi) that's still not the Kindle resolution at 300 ppi. Even the Boox Onyx readers have 300ppi standard nowadays. Comon Yota cheaters.
Support:
Oh yeh and wondering if the support is going to be in Russia or China. They would have to up the ante in case they ever consider sales outside Asia
LTE
Big ambition. Dual SIM needs support at least 1900 MHZ LTE because the 2600MHZ is still spotty. I doubt it will have 1700/2100 combo required in Canada. Add 700MHz for use in buildings and you have a pretty tall order.
Otherwise upgrade from YP2 will not happen.
How do I import one to USA?
Quick chinese review: https://www.anzhuo.cn/review/p_21935
More stuff in chinese, the phone is now sold down there:
http://news.mydrivers.com/1/551/551114.htm
Lots of users pictures from the online shop JD: https://item.jd.com/5471470.html (scroll down)
Confirmation that there is no 3.5 mm port, but a type-C to 3.5 mm adapter is included.

I have just bought the Yotaphone 3...
However I can't mirror the main screen onto the eink screen of my Yota 3. I have the Yotaphone 2, so would there by a way to port the Yotahub/Yotacover/Yotapanel from the 2 to the 3? Also, all the instructions are in Chinese which is slightly annoying. Do you think the mirroring function would be added later by an update? Thanks

It seems be possible to open mirror function. Could you try this?
The first step: Dialpad input "* # * # 9738 # * # *"
Step two: Click the "Mirror" mode test.
This method posted by some chinese site.
I can't post url yet. but you may can find on google.
And could you using Google Play Store on Yota3? on English?
Hi. I can't find the answer to my question so it's probably better to ask owners in the end : is there wireless charging on the yotaphone 3? Some sites say yes and other no so I don't know ! Thanks

Building own Android Head Unit

Chees Folks,
i wanna start a project and hope for an exchange of knowledge. First of all i wanna introduce myself. Im Pat, 27 years old from Germany. I have an BMW 3 (E46) with a Pumpkin Android Headunit (famous RK3188). Tbh the head unit is really slow and i thought: "Why not build a whole new head unit by myself?". I'm experienced in electronics and maybe a little bit of programing.
I thought about the following parts to realize the Project:
As Mainboard the Pine64 Rock64 - Advantages: Full Android support, Based on the Raspberry Pi, 4GB RAM, a lot of modules are available like 7" Touchscreen, external soundcard, GPS module, FM module, WiFi module and i also found a nice module to emulate my Steering Wheel Keys without big effort to it.
The challenging part comes with the bluetooth module. With a little investigation i found out, that you need a special bluetooth module that comes with the profiles: HSP, HFP, AD2P and so on.... Now the big question! How can i find an app for android that works with the module and let me manage the connections, make phone calls, transfer contacts and play music from my mobilephone? I guess you know what kind of app i am talking about. The common Android HU like Eresin, Pumpkin, Xtron, JOYING have these bluetooth managing apps (see screenshot)

Best regards!

Yes is saw this thread but unfortunately the creator didn't answer for about 3 Months and as i see the progress is really slow there. But sounds very interesting. Thanks for the hint
Actually, the PINE64 board is not really fast (Quad-Core A53 CPU, the usual PX5 head units have Octa-Cora A53). Considering all the effort you would have with getting something custom to a useable state, it's probably much easier and cheaper to try one of the new PX6 units for the E46 (with much faster A72 cores) first.

That one is from Adam Serbinski.
The link I referred to is from 96carboard aka ibdroid aka luciusfox aka doitright aka Mukesh (and a few other aliases) and continues here
I did not check and do not know if doitright is working on the first one too.
Edit: After further examination they all work on the same tree.
Edit2: After further examination I think that Adam Serbinsky is one of the many aliases doitright (96carboard) is using.
