Is it possible to update the security package itself. I still use A11.

I'm looking at getting one of these but wondering what version it is up to now? Sites where they sell it only ever show the version that it was initially released on. Is it still getting updates? What about security patch level? Just asking because I am having a hard time finding a local store that has it on the shelf to give it a few minutes of hands on.
Thanks.
The Z380M is upgradeable to Android 7.0. The latest security patch level is January, 2018. You can check the Asus support site downloads for info on the latest FW. They've been pretty timely with security updates. But they don't fix bugs with the OS itself, like battery calibration and log spamming And I doubt there will be any more major updates to this tablet.
Now FOTA (system update) offers update 308MB size, I tried to flash but when android reboots it reboots in TWRP (my P00A rooted and have TWRP) and nothing happening, tried rename update file to zip and flash via TWRP but not flashing, TWRP error 12
@PxYra, the incremental update needs a clean, unmodified firmware. It won't install to rooted devices or any other FW configuration where TWRP is forced to stay in place. Please download the full FW package from Asus' support site, install then reroot, etc.
Hi guys,
I recently fixed 6p with bootloop problem. Currently it's running latest 8.1 android version and im getting notifications about latest security patch. So my question is: how can I apply that update without bricking the phone. Will OTA update bricks the phone again?
Updating via OTA would put your phone right back into a bootloop. In order to update from now on you'll have to flash the updates manually by downloading the factory images from Google and installing each piece separately via fastboot, EXCEPT for the kernel (boot.img) and recovery (recovery.img).
Thanks
Thanks very much for clarifyng this. I have downloaded the latest April update from google but it still offers some 60MB update. I guess I'll wait for May release and update manually then. Many thanks again!
I need some help
1. I was on Oreo 8.0 May security patch and I wanted to update via OTA, when I tried to Restore Images through Magisk and Uninstall Magisk couldn't find Images backup. So I flashed boot.img and WIFI stopped working. I tried Persist Ressurrection Tool but it didn't fix wifi issue.
2. I flashed stock 8.0 may security patch with MiFlash. Wifi works again. Updated to August patch via OTA. Rooted. After a Reboot, System UI stopped working.
3. Flashed stock 8.0 may security patch back, always cleaning data. Everything was fine, but fingerprint stopped working.
4. Flashed stock 8.0 may security patch again, saving user data this time, but for no reason all data wiped...
5. Fingerprint still not working =/
What can I do?
When i change to a Guest or new user, fingerprint works.
Tried Wiping Cache and no results
EDIT---------
Uninstalled Magisk, Updated to August patch OTA. Fingerprint working now...
Hi,
I have restocked my phone with this tutorial: https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/how-to/stock-rom-npjs25-93-14-4-march-1-t3608138
I have used this rom "ATHENE_NPJS25.93-14-18_cid50_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml"
When i boot up the phone, it says that has an update (February 8th), but the security installed is patch is aphril 1st. When i try to install the OTA update, gets an error.
Anyone knows how to fix it?
How to root this latest build number P-SMR6-RC001-RZR-201022.3201 November security patch...
Looks like it's not possible?
Never mind. Razer posted the November system image. I was able to use Magisk Manager to patch the boot.img and then flash it using fastboot.
