i own a px5 unit with this specs below.
I am familiar with android units and in my second car i have already Hal9k.
This is different. I would like to try an update for wifi stability or anything else that will help me resolve this problem.

You should give some information about the MCU in this unit.

I bought a second hand head unit off ebay for my Audi but it did not come with any instructions.
Googling the model MCU (MTCB-MX-V2.16) and Model number (S07) has very limited results.
The software and abilities of this system seem to be quite limited so I am hoping to update it. I found the page on here where I downloaded the MTCB-MX-V2.82 firmware update but I do not know how to do it.
Has anyone got one of these models? Can they help me to root/update please?

Hi you should look for the Xtrons PF75ATTA it is exactly the same as mine in my MK2 TT, it comes with Lollipop as standard so what you could do is contact Xtrons Support and say you have a PF75ATTA and you need the Factory Firmware Restore and they will give you it. It works pretty well and the DashCommand is frickin excellent any more info let me know im TTOC member under the username CAGED

Now i dont know what firmware can i take.

I have the same one from A-Sure. It says it is a Android 5.1.1. I think they just painted it that way

Considering the MCU has the string "KYD" it does seem to be a MTCB/MTCC/MTCD unit.
Dunno how you can check for sure though, hopefully somebody with more experience with these units can chime in

I ran across an update board for the MTCD PX3 head units to install the PX5/Android 6.0 system. Has anyone tried these? I'm specifically interested in purchasing the Xtrons PF75JCCAP, but I want to have the octa-core PX5 Android 6.0 setup. I believe that this unit can be upgraded using this core board, but would like confirmation from someone that has one (or one similar). Any thoughts? As I understand, my unit is a little bit particular. Not as common as others. This is the reason why I try to identify the way to root it. My goal is to root the unit to uninstall the stock radio because it prevent all launchers to start in foreground as explained here https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/dev-new-navradio-ported-to-s32f0-devices.4234047/
And how to know if it is a MTCB or MTCD ?
