Odin flashes tar.md5 directly. Not recommended to unrar.
Which Odin version did you use?
AND: afaik you can only downgrade if bootloader hasn't change which I assume it did from 6 to 7.

Can unbrick my smartphone?
Hello,
I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 which got brick in a couple of weeks earlier. Now, I need to unbrick the device but I have no idea about how to find the device build number to download the correct firmware file.
I was log into SamMobile website and tried to find the correct one but with the device model number, it became a somewhat hard process because it displays multiple versions.
Please help me, someone, to find the correct firmware file to unbrick my device.

Go to setting then about then find your model number...Or find it on Mobile Box or back of your Mobile phone or Press nd hold power+volume down until download mode appears then in download mode check your model number.
After finding model number go to Sammobile or Updato then enter model number and then download acc to your carrier or country you are living.
Best of luck
After i download the stock, image, do i need to flash everything inside or just BL n CP? if i flash AP i will lose my TWRP yer?

Pardon my ignorance. I'm about to buy a AT&T Note 8 today, but AT&T isn't my carrier (as I'm in Jamaica).
Is this the latest firmware for this device? My OCD requires me to have the latest OTA available so I don't have to keep wiping my device each time I sideload it.

Yes, you can still flash the unlocked firmware on AT&T note 8 after the Oreo update. Only the U1 unlocked firmware can be flashed and as long it's still on the same bootloader version. Also, you'll need a different version of Odin to flash for the Oreo update.
Use this version of Odin.

Hi all
I am a guy from Spain and I am using Google translator, I hope all understand all me well.
I have an S8+ updated to Android Pie and after testing it several days I did not like it.
I tried to install Oreo using Odin but it gives me an error.
Searching for information, I found I can not do downgrade because of a binary boot number.
is there another method to install stock Oreo rom? Could it by root?
I never performed root, i'm noob.
I would appreciate any help. Thanks and best regards

Hi.
Yes, the latest version of Odin: Odin3-v3.13.1
Yes, 1 pc with Windows 7 and another with Windows 10.
I've never tried a 4tlg.Firmware, I do not even know what it is.
As I commented in the messenge I read that odin can not be downgrade because it changes a binary number of the boot between Pie and Oreo ¿not? (or something like that happens).
Thank you very much for the reply.

In the firmware name you download the binary number ( bootloader version ) is the fifth (5) number from the right. In your case 4 is your binary number.
Eg: G955FXXS4CRLB - 4 is the binary(bootloader) number. You can only flash version 4 or higher not 3 or lower.
Download firmware from.sammobil or.updato
Eg: G955FXXS4CSB1 ( PHE ) is Oreo Feb release.
Don't know if your on carrier firmware or not?
Unzip downloaded firmware using 7zip,WinRAR or any zip program that supports lz4 compression ratio. There will be 5 files.
Note: It is recommended to a clean install when downgrading so do a backup first.
1. In Odin from the extracted files place:
BL in BL section
CP in CP section
AP in AP section
CSC in CSC section - use the CSC file not the Home CSC file. This will do a clean install same as a factory reset.Wait for Odin to load files
2. Put phone in download mode and connect to PC
3. When Odin see's the phone then hit the start button.
4. When finished phone should reboot then run through the setup and restore your backups.

It has worked! Yeah! It was as you explained.
The problem I had was that I was getting a firmware with the binary number 3 because it was the last one in SamMobile for the normal S8 + (SM-G955F), to download the one you put me in, I searched for the S8 + dual sim (SM- G955FD).
Updato has very slow downloads, three days to download the firmware.
¡I thank you very much for the help! Without you I would not have achieved it.

Hi bro.
Yes, all apps work correctly: Samsung Pay and samsung health perfectly and all the others.
My case is with Spain PHE firmware.
The Knox is 0 * 0, using official stock firmwares the Knox never rises.
After returning to Oreo, remember to freeze the software update process so that it does not search or update again to Pie. You have to do it by adb
If you continue with doubts, you ask me
And the files downloaded from Updato and Sanmobile are stock? I have S8 and want to downgrade from Pie to Oreo, I have G950FXXS5DSF1 bootloader 5, the oreo files are with bootloader 4 (not 100%), can I do this downgrade? or it will get bricked? knox tripped?

Hello.
I'm afraid you can not download the version because it's a 5 and Oreo only has up to 4.
Maybe I can install a version of Pie 4 and then download it to Oreo 4, but I'm not sure about it.

I have a full stock firmware package (.tar archive) for the SM-G930VL TracFone/Net10/Straight Talk Galaxy S7. The firmware is recent and can be flashed using Odin v3.09 or later (for best results). If you still need the package, let me know. I'll upload it to my cloud hosting and get a direct URL posted very soon.

Ok, I actually found an Android File Host link for the TracFone/StraightTalk/Net10 firmware package for the SM-G930VL Galaxy S7. This package is actually Build No. G930VLUDU4BPL2_TFN4BPL2. I am very sorry for the misstatement. I had originally thought this was a recent build. However, I do have the most recent Verizon firmware package (SM-G930V), which will easily flash to the SM-G930VL using a current Odin version. This install will effectively convert the Net10/TracFone/StraightTalk Galaxy S7 to a Verizon Galaxy S7. There is an excellent conversion tutorial here in the device forums. (My own SM-G930VL was recently converted to the Verizon variant.) It also appears that the SM-G930VL can be readily converted to the factory unlocked variant by installing a recent unlocked firmware package w/PIT file via Odin.
Download Link:
SM-G930VL Firmware Package: https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=817550096634751351
Again, if any of you guys need it, I have the latest Oreo firmware package for the Verizon variant (April 1, 2019 Security Patches) Galaxy S7.
Thank you for sharing? I just flash it to the unlocked variant SM-G930U and works perfect

Thanks
Use updato.com. You can use SamMobile but it takes years without a premium account. HOWEVER YOU CAN'T FLASH THE NEWEST SOFTWARE IF THE PHONE IS WAY BEHIND..... EITHER FLASH THE FIRMWARE BUT THAT ALLOWS OTA UPDATES OR FLASH EVERY FIRMWARE ONE BY ONE. I hope this helped:laugh:

As long u are searching for correct model of your phone u are good to go
U can use sammobile,updato.com, samfrew.com to download firmware for your model ( there is even samfirm pc app to download firmware at full speed)
Also u can flash pie or any other release without needing to install one by one firmware as suggested above.
Good to go. Trying...
