I've got Cheapcast installed on an Android TV Box (JUSTOP Android 4.0 TV Box HD). My Nexus 10 can see the remote display from Youtube, but when I try to playback anything I just get a spinning wheel on both the Cheapcast display and the N10 Youtube clip, and eventually it says that it is taking too long to play back and gives up.
The Android box is actually connected to my network via ethernet - would that cause problems for Cheapcast??
It blocks the receiving of normal TV channels (via DVB-C), my Samsung TV is saying there is no signal coming in. As soon as I disconnect the player (remove HDMI or remove power from Nexus Player) my TV is instantly back to normal. As soon as i make the Nexus Player work again (with normal TV selected as a source) the error is comming back. I can repeat this as many times I want, the picture comes and disapears.
Android TV on Nexus Player is up to date, the software on the Samsung TV (UE40H6470) as well. I tested it on all the hdmi sockets on the TV.
With other HDMI Devices I connect to the TV this problem never appeared.
Any ideas how this could be solved? What could be the reason?

1. I'm thinking a bad hdmi cable, so swap it if you can.
2. Hook the Nexus Player to another TV and see what happens.
3. Maybe a goofy setting in the TV, do a factory reset on the TV and see if that helps.
4. much less likely a power problem, but try a different outlet or different surge protector.
Hi, I just got my nexus player in the mail and I was eager to try it out but when I turn it on it shows the google logo for 5 seconds and then I get no picture or sound. I tried on another TV and a computer monitor and those worked! I set it up and upgraded it to 5.1, tried the TV again but to no avail.
How can I fix this?
The TV In question is a Hisense hsl4229hdip.
Thanks, Marshall.
I'm using a NP 5.1.1 connected with a not recent Sony TV: KDL-40P550.
Time to time the screen goes black and return back in a few seconds.
During black screen the audio stream continues without any interruption.
The TV doesn't show any messages that could make me think about a connection loss: no messages on the display and, as told before, the audio stream continues.
The same TV with the same cable in the same hdmi port got correct signal from Chromecast, a PC with nVidia card, a MacMini 2010.
Any suggestion?
Anyone with same experience?

I'm having the same issue now, we're you able to solve this?
I know that the Fire TV Stick remote works with the Nexus Player:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-player/accessories/fire-tv-remote-nexus-player-t2939508
What I'm wondering is:
1. Does the Fire TV Stick remote have the same disconnect issues as the Nexus Player remote? The LED on the Nexus Player remote will flash fairly frequently, which I understand to mean it's lost connectivity with the Nexus Player. It always seems to reconnect on its own, but I've noticed it can often be slow to respond. For example, if I'm watching something and then pause it, it can sometimes take up to 10 seconds to pause. Every once in a while it doesn't work at all and I have to press the button again.
I don't have the same disconnect issue with the Nexus Player gamepad, so I'm guessing the problem is the remote itself. The Fire TV Stick remote is cheap enough that I wouldn't mind picking it up if it solved this problem.
2. This isn't very important but I'm also curious if the menu button on the Fire TV Stick does anything on the Nexus Player. For sideloaded phone apps, perhaps?

in my experience with NP and NP remote and when i could pair the FTV box remote i always do/would loose connection even on the phone remote app along with constant audio dropouts. sad how google fails to release a solid rom for this device and or fails at correcting major issues. i have since lost my NP remote so im stuck using remote app or my samsung Tv remote via cec connection
the menu function can be used in kodi with addon keymap editor
i do have a samsung BT keyboard that may take up to 10 seconds to wake from sleep however battery life is very poor only lasting 1-2 weeks if that.
In case anyone cares, I bought the Fire TV remote (https://www.amazon.com/Replacement-Remote-Amazon-Fire-Stick/dp/B00LORGAG6). The menu button on the Fire TV remote doesn't work and there's no voice search, but it seems to be quicker to respond and has less issues overall, although there are still occasional issues: every once in a while it'll be slow to respond or if you press a direction the Nexus Player will act as if it's been pressed multiple times.
So it's not perfect but it does seem to be a lot better than the stock Nexus Player remote from ASUS and I pretty much only use the Fire TV remote now.
