I had the same problem just install the wugfresh tool from development and reinstall the drivers then make sure you have adb on in developers option and when you connect make sure you are connected ptp the picture mode one and then it will recognize it.

I was trying to download and flash xposed on my phone, so I got the app and downloaded the zip.
I went into Magisk and for some reason I flashed xposed framework through Magisk (I thought it might work)
I tried flashing the all 3 of Xposed installers and didn't work.
Realized I didn't boot so I re flashed the stock rom oos 4.5.8, and it worked again, but no root.
So I quickly try to flash twrp through adb on windows but it doesn't work, I keep getting an error message going like.
sending 'recovery' (27525 KB)...
FAILED (remote: Requested download size is more than max allowed
)
finished. total time: 0.004s
I haven't seen a thread or a website explaining how to fix this.
Yes i did try git bash, but the same error happened.
Please and thank you.
p.s. I don't any of my data gone.

Try to re-install adb
And try a different usb cable...
It seems to work best with the cable that was sent with the One+5 but you could try a different cable...
Had the same issue. Just get the latest ADB from XDA, it should work fine.
try to boot twrp insted of flashing it.....
as " fastboot boot twrp.img"
try rebooting your PC, it worked for me

It's built into TWRP and just works. Try a different cable/port.

You need twrp to flash.
To flash twrp you need to download Odin on a PC and enable OEM unlock and USB debugging on your phone through developer options.
Then flash twrp through Odin on your PC to your phone. Your phone must be in download mode.
Twrp is this one there will be a detailed guide in how to flash properly just search that thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-j5/development/recovery-samsung-galaxy-j5-t3769408/page7
