Because our old kernel is not optimized for A12 and higher, I think all official support has ended and will not be resumed in any way. End of life basically, even though unofficial ROMs keep coming.

The 3.18 with a specific patch is compatible for A12 as Astrid has mentioned earlier.
The problem is the concentration of maintaining power, Mike has been so busy to continue maintaining the Kuntao. If Astrid is able to pick the responsibility, he will at least be able to make Kuntao updated with the LOS 18.1 as before, with the regular patches/security bumps and fixes.

Thanks for the FYI! I thought the LOS team dropped official support for a lot of devices because most could not make it past A11. Only some, like P2 and A5 2017, are able to bypass the system requirements.
Amazing if LOS 18.1 could be kept updated. It is after all the most stable ROM and should hence be prioritized. Crossing my fingers!

Try reach out to @Astridxx through Telegram.
I'd be happy just for quarterly or - stretching it - even half-yearly updates.
Top! I use it as my main phone.
Daily driver.
Google pay working, everything seems fine and bugless.
No battery drain, seems better than in Los 18.
Absolute masterpiece
Pls make a port for Lenovo tab 3 8" plus. Same Snapdragon 625
@Astridxx Any plans on LOS20? Just an initial build like this one?

Remember to set your screen unlock to swipe before making the backup as your unock pattern wont be valid after a restore. I had this situation already twice.

Does this not work without LVM? Other Roms got lvm optional and work without it.
I have a modified bigger system partition and don't need a merged partition.

It may, but I have no way of testing it so I can't be certain. If you want to try, go for it, at your own risk of course Obviously don't flash the LVM patch
Hi, i'm using your rom. It works very well but it seems i have a kind of battery drain. Also, is there a way to put screen off when device charging and shutted down (actually it shows battery charging icon and black "on")

I'll take a look at the battery drain, as the the charging indicator thing fixing that is probably beyond my abilities I'm afraid.

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 8 (oreo), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review.

Boots perfectly, charging speeds are perfect.
Notch space does not work very well and takes up space in several full screen apps. Any way to fix it or is it part of the rom?

SMA105F/DS : Works
Android 10
EDIT : MY BAD IT WAS A MISTAKE A DID
UPDATE 30 AUGUST : Upon using it for a week I added more cons and pros
Upon using it for a week. Here are my Pros and Cons
Pros:
My read speeds increased from 40mb/s to 80mb/s
Phone became smoother
FastBoots
Easy to use
Uses haptic feedback at its fullest
CPU is cool no overheats
Since no overheats no battery probs
{NEW}
Charging is a little faster 4 hrs to 3 hrs
Every game I play on I getore FPS
Benchmarks on antutu increased from 90k to 110k
Benchmarks on 3DMark extreme from 5 fps to 9 fps and +200 points
Ui is hot
Lots of customizations: Fonts and more
Has an equalizer preinstalled
Has an audio visualizer in lock screen
No bloatware
Battery holds up to 12 Hrs
{ 3 hours - 66%
5 hours - 42%
8 hours - 26%
10 hours - 12%
12 hours - 1%
}
You should have an approximate or even better, My phone has half a year now.
Cons:
Lack of support for face recognition
Camera app preloaded is broken
Notch and Corners aren't normally aligned
Some Memory leaks and often crashes with GameGuardian(use ex kernel manager and enable zswap [check an yt vid])
The OS can corrupt at any moment randomly and redirect you to the bootloader
My Signal is weaker for some reason
{NEW}
Bluetooth signal is weaker
Speaker problems(to fix disable audio equalizer)
When using the preloaded camera app and flash it will crash after taking a picture
Some games will just crash while they are trying to load in
Developer options dont appear even after you enable them
The Preloaded browser is dog****, crashes and bad support with html5
And many more I'll find later on
Please thank me if you found anything usefull.
If you are willing to use it, you will have to take risks and accept the problems it has.
I came from the A20 forum to see this ROM but this thread seems dead, Is no one interested in custom ROMs here ? I though there'd be full comments and questions about this ROM.
I just wanted to know if it possible to make a ROM like this for the Galaxy A20 or maybe even port this one ?
@Geckyn
Great rom! Could you please fix navigation gestures and night light?

I tried on a105m, camera app preloaded worked with no problem here, so far no reboots to bootloader... Memory leaks are so much worse in GSI Roms, at least thats what i felt using Havoc OS and Bliss Rom. For me is this or go back to Stock

Same. Just saying some problems I had with A105F/DS since 2GB isn't enough for GG and a game ig
working 100% on a105fn, but when i turn off my phone and plug in charger it will froze on charging screen and only power button + volume down helps, btw why are there no gestures ect like in normal android 10?
Hello. I installed version 20200813 on my A105M device, and apparently everything is working.
The exception is the recognition of my SD Card. I can't use it in the rom, although it works normally in TWRP.
Me SD is in exfat.

Pros
Thanks
Cons
1. Not a default feature in los 17 and many others
2. ??
3. Okay will see about that
4. How do you know its a memory leak? and probably not necessarily a specific ROM issue
5. Nope Os doesn’t corrupt and reboot to bootloader unless you messed with it
6. Sadly most A series users report weak signal something that may be related to the device itself not just this ROM or a10
7. And many more lol

Thats the sad part of life...those really want something may not even get it whilst those who have may not exactly be interested. The response here is pretty discouraging but I understand that it may be a small community.
Is it possible ? Absolutely ...its all about time

Installation:
If you are on stock OS, you need a custom recovery first. You can get the recommended LineageOS recovery in the official installation instructions link below.
You can use TWRP for installation, however it is no longer officially supported since we do not have full control of its update cycle and potential issues.
Previous recommended TWRP image: twrp-3.2.3-20190209-kuntao.img
If you are coming from stock or other ROMs, you need to make a factory reset.
As always, make sure to backup before installing this ROM.

When You click on the link given by Mike You obtain the sreen here above, but chiron isn't kuntao.
You must then click in the left column on Lenovo to extend, then click on P2.
You will then see then the build 18.1 isn't still there.

Quick question:

I have only flashed roms since I bought the device a few years back. Should I flash the stock firmware at some point? And where can I find it?

Try flashing Los 16.0, then wiping data, cache and dalvik and then flashing 18.1. Usually fixes this problem for me.

There was a copy paste error in first post, I have fixed the link now to point at kuntao page
Currently reinstalling apps after a full wipe (System, data, cache, dalvik and "Format Data" TWRP option). No issues yet. And fingerprint enrollment worked for me.
It is unbelievable for me this phone gets "official" 5 major Android updates (the phone first released on Android 6). But here we are on Android 11. It can be done. Major thanks.

It shouldn't be an issue. If you had the latest official ROM (& firmware) installed before running custom ROMs, it should work.

Thanks Mike for his attempts keeping our device alive. This phone is worth to be kept up to date.
OTOH, we have a device like LG G2 which is either older and inferior to P2 and is still being maintained by LOS developers. I hope P2 remains on the line as long as G2 will be.
Big thanks Mike so far everything seems to be working great.
Amazing work, thank you Mike!
Can i dirty flash this 18.1 on los 17.1 latest build. As fingerprint enrollment failed on 18.1 works in los 17.1 so switched to los 17.1. how can i dirty flash on los 17.1 also gapps need to flash separately or gapps from los 17.1 works fine ???
